  1. Ok so maybe I'm cherry picking a few opinions but lately I've seen a few posts around the forums where some people think Ogors/Gutbusters/Beastclaw Raiders should be in a combined book....with the orruks and grots (non ogor grots like gitmob). For example Now ok I get it, for some excuse ogors now follow gorkamorka (although the quoted idea bring back the Great Maw) and are under the destruction banner and how WFB is dead and faction compositions have radically changed. But I just don't know if it really makes sense to have a Battletome where Ogors and Orruks pal around. Ok yes on one hand making a big combined battletome will allow everyone to get updated at the same time which would be great (So it would be in essence a better made GA: Destruction 2.0.), but I fear this would dilute the differences between Ogors and Orruks especially since they already designed Beastclaw Raiders and the Everwinter. I mean it would almost be like Ogors are just bigger Orruks...and we already have that with Ironjawz! Plus the synergies between ogors and orruks are (currently) non existent. An Orruk Warboss waaagh only affects orruks, not even green grots. Ogors would be an even bigger stretch (imo, I mean I know the fluff has changed where ogors and orruks do work together more). Now I understand not every model should help every other model. A Bullgor's command ability doesn't do anything to Thunderscorne. But the 2 "big soup" books we have make sense with nostalgia and theme glasses. Legions of Nagash is Vampire Counts 2.0 (minus ghouls). Beasts of Chaos is literally the original book back in WFB (minus trolls and ogres). It's not like Beasts of Chaos absorbed Skaven or even combined with Slaves to Darkness. That said I do see the arguments for Order Free Cities since we already have the concepts and even loose rules for Free Cities. Yet the Firestorm Destruction allegiance is just orruks and grots, not Ogors. As I said maybe I'm seeing a vocal minority, do you see other people suggesting ogors and orruks be combined? Do you think it may be the better compromise to take the "neglected" aspects of destruction and update them in one big book so no one is left behind?
  2. Dumb noob question I know but.... I know I can take some Gutbusters as allies to my Ironjawz. I checked because I still have some square based Orges from past editions that are already painted and sat in storage. (Tyrant, normal Ogres and Ironguts painted, leadbelchers and buther unpainted) The question really is not can I do it but is there any point? Can they do anything that can't be done by normal Brutes who would benefit from being Ironjawz in the first place? Kinda tempted to give those old models some more life but not sure there is any valid reason to do that.
  3. Hi guys had an idea of using grots from the gritmob grots faction on my gutbusters army. It's just because I think gritmob grots look better. What do you guys think, will I run into any problems? Is this an ok thing to do. Any feedback will be appreciated.
  4. Coming in HOT after a small points reduction to some key units it's Destruction's finest multi-wound, semi elite force. This faction is packed with solid, durable units and very few of them deal less than 2 damage with each swing of their weapon and some brutal syngergies. Where to start? Well obviously we need to get a hero and at least two battleline choices. Starting with the Hero choice, the Gutbusters have two of these. The Tyrant is a melee bruiser who can smack most other heroes into line, with a randomly generated bonus trait not unlike a command trait and a toasty command ability that lets him inflict D3 mortal wounds on a friendly Gutbuster unit to make it totally immune to battleshock. The Butcher is the wizard choice, usually taken with the optional Great Cauldron option that gives him a random ability that can heal or harm. Obviously with only two hero choices, we'll probably end up having some of each of these two. As battleline goes, you've got Ogors (generic battleline), and Leadbelchers and Ironguts (Gutbusters battleline). The Ogors are your rank and file, packing 4 wounds and decent damage. The Leadbelchers are more of the same but packing decent firearms as well. The Ironguts are your elite infantry, horrifyingly brutal in close combat and capable of taking down basically anything. Where to next? Now we have the foundation, we need to tack on some utility. Often overlooked in this allegiance are the Grots, these cheap little gobbos can net objectives and form decent screens to prevent your valuable troops being closed on by enemy assets. Furthermore, the Tyrant can make them permanently immune to battleshock, which is exceptionally useful. For shooting, Leadbelchers are already passable but to mix some artillery in we have the Grot Scraplauncher (good at dicing hordes) and the Ironblaster (high rend that does ok against numbers but is better served shooting at high wound single models. Also weirdly good at close combat). There's also Gorgers, a flanking option that's also relatively cheap. They are made from finecast however, so consider converting some out of Flesh Eater Crypt Haunters. Adding in Allies Keeping with the Ogor theme, both the Stonehorn and Thundertusk Beastriders can be allied in at 2k points, and the Frostlord on either mount can tag along at 2.5k. For less extravegant options consider the Maneaters, an elite Ogor unit which is both flexible and fun to convert up, and various trolls from the Troggoths units for some seriously durable units. The Finished Product Allegiance: Gutbusters Leaders Tyrant (160) - Massive Ogor Club Butcher (140) Butcher (140) Battleline 6 x Ogors (240) - Ogor Clubs or Blades with Iron Fists 6 x Ogors (240) - Ogor Clubs or Blades with Iron Fists 3 x Leadbelchers (140) 3 x Leadbelchers (140) 6 x Ironguts (360) Units 60 x Grots (270) 1 x Ironblaster (120) Total: 1950 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 187 In this list I opted out of any allies and doubled down hard on the powerful options already available to the faction. I left 50 points out to get an extra command point for a turn one Tyrant hits the grots and makes them immune to battleshock, then burn another command point if I dont roll a 6 on the grot run to get them right out in front of the army spread out. The slow moving Ogors can move up behind this grot phalanx (which will inevtiably die once sneezed on) until the enemy is within firing range. Their durability will allow the Ogors to hold the objecctives easily against the enemy. Any Gutbusters players reading, definitely comment if I've missed anything. You guys are the real heroes.
  5. So in the last few months, I've fallen into the usual trap of getting distracted - by new shiny releases, old rediscovered projects, etc. As a result I've fallen behind in what I'm meant to be focusing on - a new Destruction army for this year's 6 Nations in Scotland, and finishing off my Golden Demon entries in Warhammer Fest in May. Oh - and regularly updating this blog. I think I can probably file that under "never gonna happen" So - to business! With Golden demon just under a month away I've been furiously painting, trying to get entries ready for the big day. I've a few WIP images but i'll share those at a later date, once the competition is over - as only some are AOS related they may not interest the vast majority of readers here However, on the new army side of things I can show off some images. For this year's Six Nations in scotland, I've decided to shelve my flesh eaters, and build up a destruction army. In case you're not aware, one of the rules is that each team needs to bring a minimum of 1 grand allegiance each. In our local scene there arent many destruction playser, so I decided that I'd take the initiative and build up an Ogor army, using my old 8th ed army as a basis. I always liked the ogors as an army. The relatively low model count allows me to go all out with conversions, freehand details, etc. I also liked the idea of building an army that wasn't seen everywhere. I've never counted myself as being overly "competitive" so building a cool themed army was more important to me. The rough concept I'm working with is a roaming tribe of ogors on the plains of Ghur. I'm gonna lean into the tribal motif, so tribal tattoos, shamanic masks, etc. The list is built around the gutbuster wartribe batallion As it stands, the list is as follows: Butcher (140) - Artefact : Collar of Domination Tyrant (160) - General - Command Trait : Might is Right - Great Gutgouger - Artefact : Battered Talisman Units 9 x Ironguts (600) 3 x Ogors (120) -Ogor Clubs or Blades with Iron Fists 6 x Leadbelchers (280) 12 x Ogors (400) -Ogor Clubs or Blades with Iron Fists 6 x Ogors (240) -Ogor Clubs or Blades with Iron Fists Gutbuster Wartribe (60) Total: 2000/ 2000 I'm playing around with using the old Bragg the Gutsman model as a tyrant, converted to have a Baron Samedi feel - complete with battered top hat! I'll try and keep some updates of how the army looks as i finish off units. For now, the aim is to get everything built and on the right bases. 6. Hello! Excuse for my English grammar, I've tried to write as best I can as possible. I started this topic because I've felt in a good while about that BCR is a lot weaker in 2000p than it was before GHB17 with 6 scenarios, so does Gutbusters too (thanks for nerfed destruction allegiances). I've tried to figur what it's best for BCR or Gutbusters to face against "tier 1" armies like Tzeentch, KO and so on. In my experience for BCR and Gutbusters they can do well against Tier 2 and lower like Seraphon, Ironjawz and so on. I've tried to use 18 yhetees with 3 thundertusks with retreat&pile-in tactic against KO, and so has my army been defeated by KO in 1-2 turns in a row of two. While I've played against Fyreslayers (tier 1) a few times, I usually come at equal or lose or sometimes win and so on. But with the same army against KO, and have tried with Eurlbad, the result has been same, big loose. I've noticed BCR can do well against Stormcast, its weak point is suffered mortal wounds. I mean BCR got very limited to face against all round, big win or big loose. What I got is that Mixed Destructions comes at some between Tier 1-2, just if you chose the best units of Destruction and so on. The problem is that my feeling for Ogors or within units of Ogre Kingdoms will be lost if I only go best units for winning game with Mixed Destruction. Two things I want to play with my army; one, that shall feel Ogor's theme, two, to win for fun with a nice army theme. If you have got some experience, please leave comments to share knowledge. We don't need to talk about Stonehorn, it doesn't matter, with the cost and nerfed skeleton stone, he's worthless. Thundertusk doesnt need to talk about, he's too expansive and his Frost-wreathed Ice is too fast to be worse with just 2 suffered wounds, with 4+ save. And he is easy to die by a simple archery unit. I've tried a lot to use Thundertusks (Huskard, Frostlord and Beaststriders), the result is that if they suffered two wounds, then I've "lost" point in the army (I can heal with Huskard or pelt, but often it isn't enough to restore 6 mortals wounds). He isn't OP unless against new and casual players who has been surprised with 6 MW. Mournfang, nah. Yhetees, YES! but nah, 6 save and his Frost Aura only affect in combat phase. It's exactly like in WFB8 where they got flammable, no thanks. Anyways, skip them. Now I've found interesting to play with the army list, it's gonna to be Mixed Destruction, take a look: Tyrant w. Great Gutsgouger Icebrow Hunter 3x12 Ogors with pairs of weapons 10 Sabres 8 Sabres Battalion: Skal 1970/2000p 3x12 Ogors just for 1200p, with 144 wounds and they do very good at combat, can also be good to defend against Shooting (save 5+ and thanks Lookout Grot for saving 6+ against suffered wounds and mortals). It will take a while to kill them, and they can be immuned to take battleshock, thanks by Tyrant with his unique command ability which makes the unit is immuned as long Tyrant lives and so on. Tyrant is also great at combat with his Great Gutsgouger (Bragg model), with battle brew and might is right which makes him stronger: when roll to wound, the basic is 6+, but with these will it be 4+ to make 6 damage(!). Problem is that he can be easily to die, in any situations. Meanwhile.. the enemy will be worry about the Skal incoming.. 18 cats! And you know what they can do, an unit with 10 sabres, 3 attack per model with -1 rend is great and so on. Hope this topic will be interesting to talk about. I'll try with this army list next week and I'll tell how it goes. Thanks! Fredrik
  7. Hi all! My brother and I are working on allegiance abilities/artifacts/command traits/a battalion or two for the much abused Gutbusters. I was wondering, before I started posting on it, if anyone else was working on a similar project? I'm going to post what we have tomorrow afternoon (ET) in anyone is interested.
  8. Right now, good morning from Sweden! I'll have a tournament 2000p next week. I've tried both Overtyrant and Tyrant as general for my army and now I'm unsure what it's prefered to choose one of them. My army list looks: Destruction allegiances (I know there is Moonclan, Orruks etc but all I want is Ogors theme! they are beautiful aren't they? Overtyrant / Tyrant - Ravager, Battle Brew 2x Huskard on Thundertusk 12x Ogors 2x3 Ogors 9x Icefall Yhetees 1 Gorger If you've seen what Overtyrant can do, his command abilitiy is amazing to bribe!! His attacks aren't stupid well, his Crown subtract enemy units within 14 of him. His weak point is his movement. And now Tyrant, I'm using Great Gutgouger weapon (the model is Bragg the Gutsman), his attacks can do great if I've lucky rolled. Why it has make me wanting him as general is his command ability, Bully of the First Degree, i'll pick my 12 ogors so I don't have worry about battleshock test and next turn he also can use Inspiring Presence to Yhetees. His movement is great and if he lucky got great Big Name it will makes him a lot better. My question is if you are as me, what would you choose Overtyrant or Tyrant? His bribe to subtract -1 hit on unit when they will attack on eg. Yhetees in combat phase (-2 hit then ftw!) but the king is too slow, or would you rather choose Tyrant? They cost same 160p. I hope you will answer as soon as possible before I'll make my descision and send my army list, thanks! Sorry for my grammar if it looks crazy. Kind regards Fredrik
  9. Hello I want to share my army list for the tournament 1500p, hope you can give me your feedbacks Of course the Overtyrant is joined! Destruction allegiance, Overtyrant, general, ravager, battle brew - Ogre Kingdoms 160p Bruiser Standard Bearer - Ogre Kingdoms 140p Butcher w. cauldron - Gutbusters 140p Butcher w. cauldron - Gutbusters 140p 12x Ogors w. pairs clubs and blades, battleline - Gutbusters 400p 3x Ogors w. iron fists, battleline - Gutbusters 120p 10x Orruks w. bows, battleline - Greenskinz 90p 6x Yhetees - Beastclaw Raiders 240p Gorger - Gutbusters 60p Have you seen how Bruiser Standard Bearer's lastest update? His Banner of the Great Maw does great... choose a point on the battlefield within 18", roll a dice for each enemy units within 6" of that point, 4+ then that unit suffers D3 mortal wounds.. FTW! Overtyrant?! Yeah he is badass since the warscroll has been updated! with ravager will make him a lot better, take a check on my previous topic "Overtyrant is better than Tyrant". The reason to bring two wizards with cauldron is: Cauldron's abilities do well, can cast his unqiue spell Great Maw and the other cast Arcane Bolt for the extra mortal wounds or Mystic Shield. An unit of 3 Ogors with iron fists, they are doing to be dead yeah but they can just run close to the enemy, stacked by Mystic Shield, maybe also in Cover so they have save 3+, Iron Fists increase by 2 so 4+ instead of 6 for doing mortal wounds! Six Yhetees can just run forward into the strong enemy and distrupt that, just don't forget to use Overtyrant's bribe to subract 1 hit on the enemy unit, that makes very hard to hit on Yhetees. 10x Orruks is the only option to defend for heroes or go for the objective. Later, there will come a big cheese - TWELVE Ogors, reroll 1s to hit, reroll to wound if models are more than 10, if Cauldron does the good job, they can increase to wound for Ogors OR heal them.. I mean 12 Ogors for 400p instead of 6 Ironguts for 400p is a good reason to pick up. Gorger with 60p can be wasted for point BUT that makes enemy gets more targets, less hit on Overtyrant, Butchers, Bruiser and Ogors! I love my army list, now one thing is how my dices will do.. a bad or miracle day Sorry for my grammar but hope you understand me!
  10. Hello everyone, it's my first time to post on this forum. I've noticed after the GHB17's release that Greasus Goldtooth has been removed as an unquie character and changed to Overtyrant, however he has become a lot better with his ability 'Everyone Has Their Price. His move 3 and only roll to a dice when declaring to charge is mess but when he is general in your army with Destruction alliegance, with that command trait Ravager and battle trait makes him to increase his movement, at hero phase he can roll for Rampaging Destroyers, 3+ then he can move up to 6" if there are is enemy model within 12" of him. I mean he can be very useful in army's strategy if you use him correct with his abilities. Also with his Crown will decrease enemy units with -1 bravery within 14" of him when taking a battleshock test. He has 4 attacks with 3 to hit and wound and has -2 rend and makes D6 damage... 2+ to hit and wound if you have taken Battle Brew. I never forget that he has damaged Megaboss on Maw with 10 by 2 attacks. There is a lot reason why I would pick Overtyrant than Tyrant with no different cost of point. Just a thing I don't like him is that he is in Ogre Kingdoms.. he should be in Gutbusters if his name is Overtyrant. I can see Tyrant is a great hero and makes good damage, his movement and save but I feel that Overtyrant can do more than him, though of same cost of point. I love Greasus Goldtooth model, I should start crying if the model is unplayable in Age of Sigmar... Just make sure that you don't read his old warscroll at WH AoS app, his ability sucked then, take a check on Ogre Kingdoms rules at GW site if you haven't taken a look.. or I can upload a warscroll I made myself for an A5 paper.
  11. I've decided to start a new project that im confident I can see the finish line with. At 2000 points I should be able to finish in about 2 months... maybe. I have 6 Ogors sitting around and have always enjoyed the figs. They have such great detail and are a joy to paint. I havent decided what im going to name the tribe and have been researching some basic conversions but im about done with the skin on my first test fig.
  12. Hi everyone, As I am very sad about Gutbusters and Grots or other Destruction factions getting no battletome and I am also sick of complaining I want to try another thing. If everything fails there is always faith. Has anyone ever watched Dragonball or knows the scene where Son Goku asks for all humanity to lend them their strength so he could summon a giant energy ball to destroy his enemies? I deeply believe that our beloved Destruction God Gorkamorka will hear our prayers and give us what we want (maybe he would be happier if we just slaugther each other or start a giant brawl , but there is still hope). So i call for all Destruction factions (or players of Destruction) to raise your hands in the air and give me all your energy!!! Grots, Ogors, Trolls, Orruks, please, raise your hands (Or claws, whatever) in the air! Give me all your energy! And summon the all-punching god Gorkamorka to bless us with battletomes!!! Maybe Gorkamorka will hear our prayers and bless us with new battletomes! Edit: Sorry I forgot to include proper instructions: Raise your hands above in the air and look up into the sky. After that you have to roar: WAAAAAAGH! as loud as you can! Or just simply write down WAAAAGH! in this thread. Or maybe do both!!
  13. So heres the List i intend to bring to blood and glory, i dont expect it to be "ultra competitive" or anything but hey im just looking for a fun time. so enough with the small talk onto the juicy list! leader wise: 2x butchers[280] -stump blades and cauldron 1x tyrant(general)(unsure on which artifact etc. atm)[160] - ogre club Battleline: 2x Leadbelchers x6[560] -belower -thunderfist 1x ironguts x6[400] -bellower -Gutlord -Rune maw bearer Artillery: 2x ironblasters [280] Other: 2x Grots x20[200] 1x Gorgers x2[120] hits a solid 2000pts exactly originally made before the new GHB but point drops+ironguts "Battleline if" let me modify it a bit more was tempted to shoe-horn in a allied firebelly as i want one of those models to paint but hey i think this list works better opinions welcome
  14. Hey everyone, This is my first post in this forum I think. I earlier registered here but never visited again after that. But after all the leaks of the GHB2017I thought this might be a good place to discuss this topic, because for me this is very important. I startet playing Ogre Kingdoms with Warhammer Fantasy and was super excited that the Gutbusters found their way to the Age of Sigmar. I got even more excited after the release of the Beastclaw Raiders Book. I read a lot about the lore and found out that sometimes the Beastclaw and Gutbuster tribes meet each other to share their meals together. But after I had seen the leaks of the new GHB2017 I got really sad, because there was nothing in it for a Gutbusters player like me. As GW talked about the new Handbook they said that they wanted to update the factions, which got left behind. I also hoped after I had seen the newest "army books" that I would see a lot of different spells for Destruction wizards. Something like different spells for Butchers, Waaaagh! magic for Weirdnobs etc. After I had seen the leaks about points I think Gutbusters are in a pretty bad state at the moment. Especially because the old "Destruction Allegiance abilites" got nerfed very hard. I can see where these nerfs are coming from. But now as a Gutbusters player I only seem as allies of Beastclaw Raiders. My deepest dream would have come true if they had gotten extra allegiance abilites, spells and command traits. Another thing I have never understood is why Maneaters and Firebellies are seperate factions. I also had hoped that Maneaters would get a price reduction. I would say they are definitely weaker than Ironguts, but cost more. I think they are beautiful miniatures but I can't see them in a game, because they are not worth the price. Why don't summarize them all under "Gutbusters" Allegiance? I had hoped that GW seperated these factions from each other, because they wanted to expand on them later. But at the moment I have the feeling that GW isn't interested in investing in Ogors anymore. I found the idea of an Ogor Alliance extremely unique for a fantasy game. There are no other game systems where Ogres have an own organized faction. This is what made AoS and Warhammer Fantasy unique for me. But at the moment as a Gutbusters player i feel really left behind, especially because I had hoped that in the new GHB2017 there would be some ogor love. Maybe GW is working on a new Gutbusters book right at the moment. But for me it doesn't look that way. What do you think about the state of the Gutbusters?
  15. Having a clear out due to moving house and want to start a new army once moved, so I want to sell my Pink Ogor army. It includes.. 2 x Frostlords on Stonehorns 1 x Huskard on Thundertusk 18 x Ogors with extra hand weapons and full command. All painted to tabletop standard and it's quite a fun army to play with. It will include a storage box to store the models. See pictures below for what the models look like. I would like £200 and can arrange drop off/pick up to save on postage costs (especially at Warhammer World! ). Note - this will be UK only.
  16. I love Ironguts. Their 4+ to hit, not so much. After reading in the destruction forum about the much loved Megabrute, I thought, what about some Megaguts? (or whatever they'd be called.) Making them chuck out 3 attacks at a 3+/3+/-1/3 profile, that sounds mighty good to me. I had been considering replacing them with Maneaters who pretty much have a better combat output - and ranged attacks. If I was to do this or not, what's the best size for a unit of ironguts?
  17. Hello all, At the end of the month I have my first tournament ever, I have been playing with friends for a couple of years but never painted much and using proxies. Now for the tournament I want to take my Ogors, but I am now I'm doubting between 2 lists. I know there are way more compatitive lists out there but I do not have the models for it and I do not know what the standard is at the tournament. So I have build a list with models I like and know with good strategy I still can win. 1 list: Leaders Tyrant, Great Gutgouger Battlebrew and Bellowing Tyrant 160 points Butcher with Cealdron 140 points Units 3 * Ogors Ironfists, full command 120 points 3 * Ogors Ironfists, full command 120 points 3 * Ogors Ironfists, full command 120 points 3 * Gorgors 180 points (seperate units) 6* Ironguts, full command 440 points 4 * Mournfang pack, Ironfists, full command 400 points Behemonths Thundertusk Beastriders 320 points List 2 Leaders Tyrant, Great Gutgouger Battlebrew 160 points Butcher with Cealdron 140 points Huskard on Stonehorn Bellowing Tyrant 380 points Units 3 * Ogors Ironfists, full command 120 points 3 * Ogors Ironfists, full command 120 points 3 * Ogors Ironfists, full command 120 points 2 * Gorgors 180 points (seperate units) 6* Ironguts, full command 440 points 4 * Mournfang pack, Ironfists, full command 400 points
  18. So this is a very odd looking list but it actually preformed really well for me overall yesterday. Da irregulaz-1000pts Megaboss Moonclan shaman 40 moonclan grots w/spears 6 ogor bulls w/fist (I know but it's how they are modelled) 4 moonclan fanatics. 5 Brutes w/twin choppa Played a battle with the border war scenario against a slaves to darkness force with the Brothers Glot at its head. The quick hits from the game are -my shaman went loopy on mushrooms 3 times and never got a spell off but by golly did he hold my one point objective by himself like a champ -I never actually get to use my fanatics. Like always I tried to charge them, they failed, got charged and immediately got mashed. But they did take a round of attacks meant for the grots so that's good? - 40 grots with inspiring presence will actually hold the line well. I was surprised. -I was totally scared of the Glotkin especially after they minced my Brutes almost immediately, but my Megaboss with +1 to hit and wound because of the command trait/artifact I rolled ended up chopping them to bits in just 2 combat phases! And that was WITH mystic shield on themselves! -the glotkins fleshy abundance spell makes nurgle warriors hard to pull down. Adding extra wounds to stuff even temporarily is good stuff. my moonclan pit held long enough to get what was left of my heavy hitters to chop up the bulk of his army and I got enough points for a destruction victory! This was actually a super fun list to play and one I'd suggest for a good beer and peanuts game. Lemme know if you guys have any thoughts!

Thanks to a sweet trade I set up with @Soulsmith and some amazing inspiration from the very talented @Lysandestolpe I started work on some conversion of my own Gargant today. I have Created a sword, shield and shoulder pad out of plasticard ( first time using, fun medium). I have also kitbashed a loincloth from an ardboyz banner, with some slight careful carving to thin it down and to make it fit under the gargants gut. The loincloths plate is a shield from the orruk boss on boar set with the back carved flat. Finally I have also greenstuffed up gaps and started to make a set of green stuff boots as the gargant was lacking feet. There is still some tidying work left to do, however its way late and I want to let things dry hard before i get stuck in. Pretty pleased with the progress, enjoy the pictures Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hi Guys! So I recently went to a one day 2k tournament (yesterday actually). The event had 20 players with 2 of those being rank 6 and 15 in Australia and another one, a few wins away from being best Iron Jawz in OZ. So pretty tough competition for my first ever 2k point AOS games. Onto my list! I decided to take gutbusters backed up by a frostlord on stonehorn. I was going to run all gutbusters, but real life got in the way of me painting all the gutbusters I needed. Tyrant - General, bellowing Tyrant Butcher Bruiser BSB Frostlord on stonehorn - battle brew 4*3 ogors with full command 6 iron guts 3 gorgers The idea behind the list is that you buff the frostlord and Ironguts and send them in. Bulls lurk in the back field catching and holding objectives, Tyrant and BSB move into the midfield for banner and bellowing tyrant support. The Tyrant can also help hold enemies trying to get past and kill the squishy ogors. Onto the matches! First match I came up against a nurgle chaos list. Blood and glory was the scenario. From memory he had: Daemon prince with wings Great unclean one Gutrot spume A dude riding a circle mouthed beast with scythe 30 plague bearers 10 blight kings 3 plague drones Now that I think about it, he may have accidentally cheated as he deployed the plague bearers in one block when they should have been in 2. In our match it didn't make much difference. The main winning factor in this match was miasma which he cast with the dude riding the circle mouthed beast. My Opponent played the spell causing D3+1 mortal wounds every phase to my stonehorn, when he was only meant to be doing that if he caused a wound on the stonehorn. As a consequence the stonehorn went down quickly and the ironguts weren't able to carry me to a win. My opponent one a minor victory on VPs. Gorgers in this match were very useful and at one point nearly won me the game by capturing his left hand objective. A quick picture of deployment (Sorry about the poor quality, had to hurry due to round timers in use) Minor Loss Ogors My next round I came up against a death player playing the take and hold scenario, he hadn't played match play before and was running Nagash. He stuck Nagash down across from my stonehorn on the 12 inch line and I did warn him that I could potentially be in turn one and might kill him, but he wasn't worried about it. So he gave me the first turn and I charged Nagash causing 14 wounds. In his turn he ran his characters in, did 5 wounds to me, failed most of his spells and in return I killed Nagash. He quit the game and tournament at this point. I got a cool pic though before he did: This was a game where I felt the stonehorn killed a lot of potential fun for me and my opponent. Having said that, I'm sure Nagash would have walked all over an all gutbuster list, so I don't feel too bad for the guy :P. Major Victory Ogors! In my third match I versed my friend who is also a death player. He runs a bone rattle formation. His list from memory is: bonerattle formation Wight king with black axe - cloak, redfury 40 skeletons with spears 30 grave guard with great weapons 2 * 10 skeletons with shield and sword 10 black knights Outside of the formation necrotect screaming skull catapult necromancer Arkhan the black We were playing border war. I deployed centrally, stone horn and iron guts on the 12 inch line with my other ogor characters hiding behind. The units of bulls were on either flank hoping to nab a couple of points. He elects to go first and pumps his black knights up for a first turn charge into the iron guts and stonehorn. Killing 3 ironguts and no dmg on the stonehorn, in retaliation I wipe the black knights. He manages 3 points this turn with 1 point for his home objective and captures the right hand side objective. In my turn I buff the stone horn and charge into his 40 man skeleton unit, the rest of my units move forward. My gorgers come onto my right flank to try and take the objective he is holding with 10 skeletons with shields. In combat I take both 2 point objectives and wipe the 40 man skeleton unit with the stonehorn. Scoring 5 points. His next turn he moves his grave guard to try and kill my gorgers and 3 man ogor unit holding the objective that was previously held by his 10 man skeleton unit. He does some shooting, teleports his lord over to my 2 3 man ogor units holding the left hand 2 point objective and also flies Arkhan over there. He fails a charge with Arkhan, and gets his graveguard into my ogors and gorgers and the wight king into one of the 3 man ogor units. Due to terrain and the size of the graveguard unit, he can't get as many as he would like into CC and only manages to kill 2 ogors and 1 gorger, losing 2 in return. The lord kills to ogors (one from running) and takes 2 wounds (would have been 4, but he halves the wounds taken due to some special armour). He manages to get 3 points this turn. I get the priority in the next turn and run the stonehorn over to kill the graveguard, the ironguts move up to kill the necrotect and the catapult, the butcher gets ready to charge Arkhan and my tyrant also moves to charge into the graveguard. I activate "Down to the ironguts" due to an ogor fleeing. I make all my charges. I choose to go the ogor fighting his lord as I knew he would be dead if I didn't, managing to get him down to 1 wound remaining. He activates the graveguard killing my Tyrant and finishing the ogors off and leaving one gorger with 1 wound remaining. The stonehorn wipes the graveguard. His necrotect kills one of my ironguts (he only had 2 wounds remaining). I activate my butcher and do nothing and Arkhan responds by killing me outright. The ironguts kill the catapult and necrotect. This turn I score 5 points again. In his turn he moves Arkhan over for a charge on my bulls holding the 2 point objective. He fails both charges with the wight king and Arkhan on double 1s leaving that objective in my control. In CC the ironguts finish up the catapult crew capturing his own objective. He scores no points this turn and he concedes at this point. Major victory Ogors! I ended the tournament tie 4th with a bunch of other people. The tournament organiser then used a magic system where you were awarded points based on how well your opponents did. Since my opponents hadn't done so well I didn't place. Overall I was happy though with my performance at the tournament. The list is fun to play and fairly straight forward. It can be flimsy if you can't lock your opponent into their deployment zone with the stonehorn, ironguts and gorgers. I found that you do pretty much everytime lock them in their deployment zone with those 3 units though. Gorgers are surprisingly hard to remove with 15 wounds and bravery 8 for a 3 man unit. The bruiser BSB only got in range once of both the gorgers and stone horn and my last match and man he was worth it in that case, but most of the time he's too slow to be useful. This will be the final outing for the stonehorn for a while now though. He's been fun and is mostly reliable. I'm just looking to move away from the guy who always has him on the board. My star unit other then the stonehorn was the gorgers. I've run a 2 man unit and it wasn't very good, but 3 was much better. They're strong enough to roll over most backfield objective holders and the ogor bulls are fast enough to help them capture objectives if you need 5 or more models. People also seem to over commit to take them off, moving a large portion of their armies over to counter the gorgers which is what you want with this army, cause as soon as they realise they just need to get into your backfield to win, you're toast haha. Thanks for reading! Next tournament should be next month. I'll be busting out a pure spiderfang army (if I can paint it in time :)): Spiderfang venom mob battalion - 100pts 2 * arak with shrine - 560pts 1 * arak with web flinger - 280pts 1* big boss - 100pts 3 * 15 spider riders with full command - 900pts 60pts left for triumph roll Drops: 1
  21. Hi Everyone, i just got myself some Gutbusters and really want to make competitive list (That, with a good general...could perform at tournaments). Im really looking at getting into the tournament scene of warhammer and would like to use my new Gutbusters as a start. LeadersButcher (140)Tyrant (160)UnitsOgors x 6 (240)- BattlelineOgors x 6 (240)- BattlelineOgors x 3 (120)- BattlelineLeadbelchers x 3 (160)- Gutbusters BattlelineIronguts x 6 (440)Ironguts x 6 (440)BattalionsGutbuster Wartribe (60) (formation needs 1x butcher, 1x Tyrant, 3x ogors 1x ledbelchers) it seems like a really good formation, your opinion?Total: 2000/2000 - Is this on the right path? - What would you change to make it more effective? - Anyone using Gutbusters that has any experience on how they performe in age of sigmar? Thanks in advance, Kimbo
  22. Hey all, All I see is tactica on Ironjaws! Any chance we can take a look at ogres? Thanks in advance!
  23. Hi all, Would like opinions on this list. I think it looks ridiculously awesome, but do you think it is viable? I played 1 game but got diced so hard(rolled I'd say 89% 1's and 2's. My opponent was astonished) that I still can't Tell Hero: Ironjaw MegaBoss Battleline: Ogors: x6, Weapon and Fist, command Ogors: x6, weapon and fist, command Other: Ironjaws Brutes: x5, jagged gore hackas(I know. Brute choppas better. But I play what I model and didn't know this when I built them!) Ironjaws Brutes: x5, twin Brute choppas(I learned for the second box haha) For my part I know its short on units and has no shooting or magic. I just figured it would play very destructiony(run up, punch face, continue punching face) and would be reasonably fast cause of the rampaging destroyers rule. thoughts?
