  1. Once again we join for the third ever Kitbash competition. This months theme is "Battleline" So this month contestants are to create either a new battleline/elite unit for their faction of choice. You can post 1 model which would be the basic format for your new unit or you can make a whole unit with new leaders special weapons and whatever else. If you're after the completed projects thread its over here Here are the rules 1. The finished model is not to be painted but photographed as bare metal/plastic/whatever but if you have painted/primed it black and white photo's are okay 2. Its got to be to the 28mm scale of warhammer, no foot high beautifully sculpted monstrosities. 3. Greenstuff can be used anywhere from gap-filling all the way up to a full sculpt. 4. Each entrant can post Multiple entries without limit 5. 1 calendar month build time so anytime between today (1/05/2018) and a month from now (1/06/2018) 6. Have fun How to enter In the participation thread post something along the lines of "I (insert username here) undertake this month's challenge to build at least one new unit for (insert faction here)" In the participation thread feel free to post WIP pictures and swap ideas but once you have finished your mini/unit post in the completed projects thread stating that this is indeed one of your projects and a series of 5 photo's as shown below. (for multiple units stick them in a line in the one photo and then organise them dramatically for you final photo with individual photo's for special weapons/leaders) 1 Front view 2 Right view 3 Rear View 4 Left View 5 Dramatic angle (not necessarily this angle just an angle that you feel best shows off your mini) Once the challenge closes I will run a poll to decide and audience favourite as the grand champ and I'll declare a personal favourite as well.
  2. After the roaring success that was last months thread (12 entries 8 of which weren't my own which was awesome ) We are on again for the second ever monthly kitbash/competition thread If you're looking for the participation thread its over here This Month's theme is Wizards! Using whatever materials you deem useful you are to create a single model that has the Wizard Keyword on its warscroll, is not a named character, and is on foot. Here are the rules 1. The finished model is not to be painted but photographed as bare metal/plastic/whatever but if you have painted/primed it black and white photo's are okay 2. Its got to be playable, that is identifiable as the unit it would be played as, not necessarily warscroll perfect as the rule of cool applies and to the 28mm scale of age of sigmar. no foot high beautifully sculptured masterpieces please . 3. Greenstuff can be used anywhere from gap-filling all the way up to a full sculpt. 4. Each entrant can post Multiple entries without limit 5. 1 calendar month build time so anytime between today (23/03/2018) and a month from now (23/04/2018) 6. Have fun How to enter In the participation thread post something along the lines of "I (insert username here) undertake this month's challenge to build at least one wizard on foot" In the participation thread feel free to post WIP pictures and swap ideas but once you have finished your mini post in the completed projects thread stating that this is indeed one of your projects and a series of 5 photo's as shown below 1 Front view 2 Right view 3 Rear View 4 Left View 5 Dramatic angle (not necessarily this angle just an angle that you feel best shows off your mini) Once the challenge closes I will run a poll to decide and audience favourite as the grand champ and I'll declare a personal favourite as well. Bonus points for my choice will come from using using basic kits rather than hero units as a base

  5. Welcome to the Innaugural monthly Kitbash/Conversion Challenge If you're looking for the participation/wip thread its over here I have stolen this idea wholesale from the people over at bolter and chainsword, It has had some success there and I hope that it shall over here. This months theme is chaos. Using any plastic GW miniature create a chaos champion/ general on foot (that is any hero model from the chaos grand alliance that is on foot) The Rules (stolen wholesale from bolterandchainsword) 1-The finished model is not to be painted the conversion should be bare plastic/metal/resin/greenstuff stealing a few small pieces from painted models is okay though 2 It must be identifiable as the unit it represents , preferably with all the weapons and artefacts that would be on its warscroll. Of course if a few things are missing or changed rule of cool applies 3 *redacted by order of the knights excelsior* 4 Green stuff can be used from individual components and gap filling all the way up to a full scultp 5 Each entrant can post multiple entries without limit 6 You must declare participation a minimum of 24 hours before posting your completed model over in the completion thread (a bit of head start is allowed but i don't want models you've been working on for years painstakingly sculpting each individual component posted in the completion thread competing with stuff people have cobbled together this month) 7 1 calendar month build time so anything built between today (22/02/2018) and one month from now (22/03/2018) 8 Have fun How to enter In the participation thread post the following "I (insert your user name here), undertake this months challenge to build at least one chaos hero unit" In this thread feel free to post WIP pictures and trade ideas but once you have decided to declare your model as complete post it in the completion thread with the following statement "I (insert user name here) declare this as one of my entrants in the chaos hero challenge" And a series of 5 photos 1 Front view 2 Right view 3 Rear View 4 Left View 5 Dramatic angle Once the challenge closes I will run a poll to decide and audience favourite as the grand champ and I'll declare a personal favourite as well. Bonus points for my choice will come from using using basic kits rather than hero units as a base

  7. Over on bolter and chainsword they have a monthly challenge going where one converts a model based on a theme each month, it seems like a good idea to me a (because I'm a massive cheapskate and don't want to pay $55aud for a stormcast hero) and I'm just wondering if there would be interest for this on TGA

  9. Hello to you all, This month I have decided, as the TPC thread is getting a fair amount of attention, to reward you hard working hobbyists with a competition. As many of the regulars will know, my favourite part of the hobby is conversions and unique kitbashes. Anything really that makes your model stand out. With that in mind, let me present the April 2017 competition. Unique Hero Conversion/Kitbash This month I am looking for the most unique and ingenious conversion that you can create. The theme is 'Unique Hero', a simple one to get us started but let your imaginations run wild. I will be looking for originality, attention to detail and quality ( all parts being to the same scale, clean joins etc.) of the build. Rules You must provide three progress photos of your conversion It does not have to be painted, remember I am interested in your conversion skills this month, not the paint job ( save it for your pledge ) You must add a small write up describing what you did to the model and what you believe is the best part and what was the hardest Element Games have kindly donated a £10 voucher as the prize for this months competition. They are a fantastic online retailer and well worth a look for a big discount on AoS products. If you would like to support me, to see more competitions in the future and support them, then follow the link underneath for all your hobby needs. http://elementgames.co.uk/warhammer?d=10184 This post will be updated and edited with more details as they arise
  10. Well this was originally the premise of my blog and after an intial surge of sign-ups it's died off to only a handful of dedicated people. So I'm going to be using my blog as my own personal hobby progress and also focusing on the podcast there. So I thought I'd try and run the Tales of Sigmar - Tale of Gamers here on the forums. It seems like there is an active community and would be good to keep each other motivated to get through an army, I know how tough it is to actually commit to one thing and make it work! I'm going to use it as a platform to start a smaller army that's not my Sylvaneth and progress through that in manageable chunks. So What Is The Tales of Sigmar - Tales of Gamers? Over the next few months gamers will be building, converting, painting and playing a new Age of Sigmar army and it will be all recorded here. The rules are simple: £50 GBP / $85 USD/ €65/ $140 AUD (damn Australian prices) a month to add towards your army. The prices don't need to be Games Workshop prices and can be 3rd party stores, purchases form eBay, Facebook Groups, etc. As long as you keep track of your monthly spend. Any money not spent in one month can be carried over to the next month, this will help with gamers wanting to purchase something a bit more substantial or you need to shift funds between months. Participants must post at least once a month to talk about their army, purchases and show the progress they're making with their army. There will be a prize of a Battletome of your choice at the end of the feature for the best army. This will be done as a vote on the TGA. If you want to take part, all you have to do is show your interest here by commenting. Start Date - Monday 11th July 2016 End Date - TBD - I'm thinking 11th January 2017 as it'll give people 6 months to get a new army built and painted. Thanks and hope to hear from you all soon if your interested! Chalmers
