  1. I've not played much 3.0 but have a tournament next weekend at 1000pts. I know some will be new players but there will be LRL there and an apparently cheesy Be'lakor list so I've added some crunch to my list. - Stormhost: Hammers of Sigmar - Mortal Realm: Ghur - Grand Strategy: Hold the Line - Triumphs: Bloodthirsty LEADERS Lord-Exorcist (95)** - General - Command Trait: We Cannot Fail - Artefact: God-forged Blade - Spell: Celestial Blades - Spell: Stormcaller Gotrek Gurnisson (435)** - Allies UNITS 3 x Castigators (75)** 5 x Liberators (95)* - Warhammer & Shield - 1 x Grandhammers 5 x Liberators (95)* - Warhammer & Shield - 1 x Grandhammers 5 x Liberators (95)* - Warhammer & Shield 3 x Prosecutors with Celestial Hammers (95)** CORE BATTALIONS *Hunters of the Heartlands **Warlord ADDITIONAL ENHANCEMENTS Spell I know Gotrek may be overkill but I like my paint job so I'm taking him. The spells, command ability, artifact, triumphs, grand strategy are all up for changing. Let me know what you would change. Thanks
  2. Hey guys, I'm completely new to the game and want to get started soon. I want to start off with a 1000 point army for Cities of Sigmar and thought of three lists so far: The first one would be dwarfs: 1 Warden King (100) 1 Runemaster (90) 1 Cogsmith (60) 30 Ironbreakers (240) 30 Longbeards (270) 2 Helblaster Volley Guns (240) for exactly 1k. The second one has even more artillery focus: 1 Warden Kind (100) 1 Runemaster (90) 2 Cogsmiths (120) 30 Longbeards (300) 3 Helstorm Rocket Batteries (390) for exactly 1k. The third one would be mixed and more mobile: 1 Freeguild General (100) 1 Runemaster (90) 30 Handgunners (300) 20 Longbeards (200) 15 Pistoliers (300) for overall 990. Could you please give me some feedback if those armies would be any good and which one you'd expect to perform better? I intend to upgrade whichever i pick to a Greywater Battalion with 4 artillery pieces, once i assemble a 2k army. Any input would be highly appreciated.
  3. So, I'm looking to expand my Ironjawz to a competitive 2k list but I'm not 100% convinced that a pure Ironjawz list would be efficient due to the lack of ability to inflict/resist mortal wounds and model count. The list I think will be most efficient is below. I chosen this to maximize speed and the characters unit buff abilities over the classic cabbage option you see out there. Leaders Orruk Megaboss (140) Battle Brew & Ravager Orruk Megaboss (140) Gem of Seeing Orruk Warchanter (80) Orruk Warchanter (80) Orruk Warchanter (80) Orruk Weirdnob Shaman (120) Battleline 20 x Orruk ‘Ardboys (360) 10 x Orruk-forged Big Choppa’s & 9 x Orruk-forged Choppas & Smashas 10 x Orruk ‘Ardboys (180) 9 x Orruk-forged Choppas & Smashas 10 x Orruk Brutes (360) Boss Klaw & Brute Smasha, 2 x Gore-Choppas, 5 x Jagged Gore-Hacka’s & 2 x Two Brute Choppas 10 x Orruk Brutes (360) Boss Klaw & Brute Smasha, 2 x Gore-Choppas, 5 x Jagged Gore-Hacka’s & 2 x Two Brute Choppas 5 x Orruk Brutes (180) 3 x Two Brute Choppas, Boss Klaw & Brute Smasha & 1 x Gore-Choppas Battalion Ironfist (60) Input would be great. Clearly it lacks shooting & numbers but as I don't have experience in playing 2k games I am unsure if this is such a disadvantage considering the units damage output...
  4. I'm super interested in the Thunderquake (or it might have just been Thunder Lizards) they talked about near the end of the podcast. (Bad Dice Podcast with Seraphon playtesters) Can anyone here post up that list? I'm at work atm so I cant listen to the cast again, but if no one can by the time I am off I'll work on getting it up.
  5. So this is my first real attempt at devising an army list for Age of Sigmar. It's largely a fluffy/fun/casual list based around the ridiculous lore I've been writing for my grots, hence every unit being named, rather than an attempt to be overly competitive or whatever, intended for a points-using narrative game rather than the stricter limits of pitched battles. That said as I've no experience with the system, I'd like some advice on how it would perform, and also if I've made some mathematical blunder somewhere (I hope I got the points values right- I'm used to 40K's "per model" costings rather than AoS's "per unit" system). (EDIT: List obsolete, read the properly pointed and amended list below.) WURRKLOPZ DEFFGAZE BADGOGGLA DA THIRD'S EVIL EYE KOALISSHUN From the Realm of Ulgu Boss Wurrklopz Deffgaze Badgoggla Da Third, Herald ov da Evil Eye- Loonboss with Da Armour ov Many Eyes (Wristbands of Illusion): 70 points. 6. Hi All, I've decided to get back into the hobby. I've been out of the hobby since the dropping of WHFB 8th edition so I'm completely new to AoS. In 8th edition I've played both High Elves and Ogre Kingdoms, but I want to start a whole new army. Soulblight! The fast playing style, low model count, general tactics and the models make this the go to army for me. Also budget wise this should be a good army for me as I already know what I like to pick up from the shop. I tried making a list with those models and I'm curious what you guys think of it. The models I'd like to use are: 2x AoS SC Flesheater Courts which contains: 2x VLoZD 2x Flying Horror (Ghoul Kings conversion using the little Vargheist wings) 6x Vargheists 1 box of Tyranid Gargoyle Brood to convert the Ghouls from the SC kit to 10 Fell Bats Probably another 2 boxes of Vargheists The list I came up with using these models would be the following: Death - Soulblight - Swift Death = 2000 Points VLoZD - 440 -General -Lance, shield, chalice VLoZD - 440 -Lance, shield, chalice VL - 140 -Flying Horror VL - 140 -Flying Horror 4x3 Vargheists - 150x4=600 3x3 Fell Bats - 80x3=240 This is exactly 2000 points. I haven't made up my mind about artefact or lore of the vampires. I'd like to know what you think about it so far. If you have any tips or recommendations. If you have any tactical tips for this list? I'll be playing in an AoS group 2 or 3 times a month and there will probably be a tournament two times a year. The list doesn't have to be the most competitive list possible. It has to be a fun and good looking list which is competitive enough that I won't be losing every game.
  7. Hi I’m new to the hobby, and I fell in love with the Maggotkin models. I’m in process of building an army, a big chunk of it arrives tomorrow. I’m thinking of a blightcyst battalion as the bulk. Here is my 2000pt list so far- -glotkin (general) -gutrot spume -Lord of blights -Harbinger of decay -chaos sorcerer lord on horse -blightking unit x3 -15 marauder horsemen unit with javelins My idea is that I have glotkin with two units of blightkings as a big block, slowly going forward. Gutrot spume deepstrikes with a unit of BLKs. Then I have a unit of marauder horsemen supported by a mounted chaos sorcerer lord; giving them re-rolls of 1s. Then I have a harbinger of decay to buff either the BLKs with glotkin or screened by the marauders can run forward to buff gutrot spume’s deepstrike. Which is a great distraction while glotkin, lord of blights and BLKs get in position. I wanted a mobile unit, so I thought the marauders would be super fast and can retreat, shoot and charge. They can catch objectives or screen harbinger while he plants a Feculent Gnarlmaw. Is my list any good? Are my ideas realistic? Would you replace any units? Should I drop chaos sorcerer for lord of plagues? What artifacts or spells etc? Are the marauders in insufficient numbers and just a gimmick that’s not worth it? -stay tuned for ton loads of conversion- I’m doing a sea theme with rotting flesh looking like blue cheese. And the BLKs are going to be a proper ship’s motley crew
  8. Hi guys just made a new 1k points list for a new NH army I’m starting. I’ll be honest and say I haven’t got much gaming experience, I tend to paint more than play. Any feedback would be awesome or pointing out anything I’ve missed. The list is battleline - 2 units of 10 grimghast reapers - 240 pts x1 spirit torment - 120 points x2 units of 4 chainghasts - 320 points x1 guardian of souls as my leader to attempt to resurrect everyone x1 lord executioner - 80pts x1 unit of 10 chainrasp horde just as meatbags really i also saw in the tome that chainghast and spirit torments give reroll buffs? Will all these buffs stack or not? The aim of the list was to reroll as many failed hits as possible and do as much damage as I could.
  9. +++ Updated 1k List, Below +++ Hello everyone, This is my first post on TGA! I've chosen Maggotkin of Nurgle for my first AoS army. I would like some veterans to give me advice as I plan on having my first game soon. I currently own all the models for the 1,000 point list: HQ: Lord of Blights - 140 HQ: Poxbringer - 120 Battleline: 5x Blightkings - 160 Battleline: 5x Blightkings - 160 Battleline: 10x Plaguebarers - 120 Plague Drones: 3x - 200 Nurglings 3x - 100 Thank you in advance ? ++ I removed the 2k list as I'd like to build a 1k list first ++
  10. So I'm looking for a build that is mostly competative in the 2k bracket, but I'm a little limited on models I have and not in the opportunity to get loads to set up a compltly different list. (made this a seperate topic as I feel the Let's chat Stormcast is getting cluttered with all the different lists and other banter and is hard for me to follow) This is what I came up with initially www.warscrollbuilder.com Steg - Allegiance: Order Leaders Lord-Celestant On Dracoth (220) - General - Command Trait : Staunch Defender - Tempestos Hammer & Thundershield - Artefact : Armor of Silvered Sigmarite - Dracoth Trait : Keen-clawed Lord-Castellant (100) Lord-Relictor (80) - Prayer : Lightning Chariot Knight-Venator (120) - Artefact : Luckstone Units 5 x Judicators (160) -Skybolt Bows - 1 x Shockbolt Bows 5 x Liberators (100) -Warhammer & Shield - 1 x Grandhammers 5 x Liberators (100) -Warhammer & Shield - 1 x Grandhammers 6 x Prosecutors with Stormcall Javelins (200) - 2 x Stormsurge Tridents 10 x Paladin Retributors (440) - 2 x Starsoul Maces 5 x Paladin Decimators (200) - 1 x Starsoul Maces 1 x Gryph-Hound (40) Battalions Hammerstrike Force (220) Reinforcement Points (0) Total: 1980 / 2000 Allies: 0 / 400 Leaders: 4/6 Battlelines: 3 (3+) Behemoths: 0/4 Artillery: 0/4 Made the Prosecutors 6 big so my delivery unit has more change to survive an opponents first turn if he get's to circumvent my deployment (behind building preferrably) Now I was not sure about the paladin load out.. 10 retributors in 1 or 2 units? If in 1 unit my second has to be the Decimators (wysiwig models, this is also for the 1 per 5 starsoul mace) If done in 2 units I have the option to complement the list with 2 Tempestors, but that will be another drop and I'm not sure if the unit will be sucha good asset on it's own. I do have some more models not mentioned here that I could also use: Celestant Prime Lord Celestant Knight-Azyros x2 Knight-Vexillor Knight-Questor a 3rd unit of hammer/shield Liberators 3 units of sword/shield Liberators 1 unit of xbow Judicators 2x unit of Prosecutors with dual hammers Thanks in advance for any tips!
  11. Hello there internet. i've brewed a Stormcast list aimed for a tournament using the new Generals handbook. Most of the list is salvage from my old list which did fairly well in the meta against skyfires etc. The biggest change to the list is the Allies, which is.. well Skinks. as many as i could fit in. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the list. if there is any glaring mistakes or weaknesses. and in general your thoughts. Open to all Comments. you can be as Honest as you'd like. Allegiance: Stormcast EternalsLeadersLord-Celestant On Stardrake (560)- General- Celestine Hammer- Trait: Staunch Defender - Artefact: Mirrorshield - Stardrake Trait: Keen-clawedLord-Castellant (100)Lord-Relictor (80)- Prayer: Lightning ChariotBattleline40 x Skinks (200)- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers40 x Skinks (200)- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers5 x Judicators (160)- Skybolt Bows- 1x Shockbolt Bows- Stormcast Eternals Battleline5 x Judicators (160)- Skybolt Bows- 1x Shockbolt Bows- Stormcast Eternals Battleline5 x Liberators (100)- Warhammers- 1x GrandhammersUnits2 x Tempestors (220)2 x Tempestors (220)Total: 2000/2000 The most obvious weakness is magic. Dracothian guard and Stardrake will melt away to mortal wounds caused by it. . Otherwise it should have great staying power. and mobility.
  12. Hi again. I am a bit over the 40k hype and remembered I have a SCE army to build. At the moment I have: 15 liberators 6 prossecutors 5 retributies 1 lord celestant 1 lord castelant 1 lord reluctor For 2k I want er to build the following. Battalion: Hammerstrike force. Leaders: Lord celestant - general, gunning strategist (loving at least the prossecutors 5" forward, so I get a more effective hammerstrike force Alpha strike) Lord castelant (hugging the liberators) Lord relictor - spellshield, *need advice on the prayer* Knight azyros (supporting prossecutors) BATTLELINE 10 liberators - 2 grandhammers, hammer & shields 5 liberators - 1 grandhammer, hammer & shields 5 judicators, shockboltbow, bows 5 judicators, shockboltbow, bows OTHER UNITS 10 protectors - 2 starsoulmaces 5 retributors - 2 starsoulmaces 6 prossecutors - grandhammer, grandblade, paired jammer 3 prossecutors - trident & javelins. The battleplan is to hurl the projectors at the big nasties and the rest come slogging on foto. Maybe I should make 1 big liberators unit and take lichting chariot on the relictor. Also I get to pick an extra Magic item but I am not sure which one. Advice?
  13. Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice on my Nurgle/Pestilens List. I currently only have a pestilens start collecting box, so I'm just at the beginning stage of my dive into this army. Here's what I'm thinking Leaders/Heroes The Glottkin (480) Epidemius (180) Plague Furnace (220) Units 10 x Plaguebearers of Nurgle (100) 10 x Plaguebearers of Nurgle (100) 10 x Plaguebearers of Nurgle (100) 20 x Plague Monks (140) 20 x Plague Monks (140) War Machines Plagueclaw (180) Plagueclaw (180) Plagueclaw (180) 2000/2000 This is what I've been thinking but would really like some opinions on this. The Glottkin being our general here, his command ability should make our Plague Monks nice and nasty with the extra attacks as well as the +1 to wounds of the unit with Fleshy Abundance. Although this can only target one unit at a time, so I'm wondering if I should just go one big unit of Plague Monks? (30 or 40). Epidemius for Nurgles Tallyman, the models slain effects speak for itself. The plague furnace really only effects the Monks themselves. This is where I am torn. Is it even worth it? Would be fun to rush in and attack with, but maybe there is a smarter option? Bring in a unit of Plaguedrones instead? Plaguebearers although slow as hell I need for battleline. Although once in combat should be great fun, nice and meaty. Plagueclaws to shoot holes in units, give as much range as possible. Any thoughts, criticisms etc are welcomed! Really want to make a fun, but strong army list. I feel like I need Plaguedrones in there but I can't figure out what to drop for them!! Thanks for looking guys.
