  1. Hi there! After having stop collecting/painting/playing Warhammer for a long, long time, I got back into the game, now Age of Sigmar, with a new project. I wanted to create a pirate themed death army. Since I started, GW has released LoN and Nighthaunt, so I think this amy is more alive than ever and I'm super excited. Also, I tend to follow the old saying: if your painting skills are not the best, convert the rest! (?) The army is led, most of the time, by Arkhan the 'Hook': Also, when I saw the new Nighthaunts, I inmediately wanted to create pirate versions of their heroes. I think Lady Olynder works pretty well as a grieving widow or something like that, but Kurdoss Valentian needed a bit of a change... Behold! Captain Valentian, the Pirate King! Next is a Morghast and part time Mourngul. Though, considering the theme, it needed to change a little bit... I'll try to upload more pics with some of my conversions I've made. P.S. The miniatures might look better on the pics than on real life!
  2. Just wanting to make sure I have the correct interpretation on how this resolves. If I manage to get this ability to trigger on a 1+ (and then subsequently <1), does it fail on the roll of a 1, or does the unit just get removed, seeing as though it is impossible to roll less than a 1, allowing it to trigger until there are no wounds left? That seems to be the intent of the spell text. I realise most tournament packs count 1's as automatically failing, but I just want to check the 'vanilla AOS' effect of this. *** I had a 3 player game today where the TK player had managed to throw enough Mystic Shields onto the unit of 6 Necropolis Knights to give them a 1+ Save. Arkhan came in, cast Curse of Years on them, and rolled: 1st Roll: 2 Sixes 2nd Roll: 1 five and 1 six 3rd Roll: 1 four 4th Roll: 1 four 5th Roll: 1 three 6th Roll: 1 five 7th Roll: 1 two By this point, my ally (at the time) said that he thought the unit would be deleted. I thought there was a chance it would fail on a 1, so I kept rolling to see. Ended up causing 25 mortal wounds before I rolled a 1. That spell is insane if you get lucky up front. Turned the tide of battle for sure, and saved my Aelven ally's butt. Alas, he only repaid me with betrayal.
  3. Ok guys I need some help making a 1000pt death list which MUST include Arkhan. I do already have a simple 1000pt death list but I have a game coming up in a week which I need to include Arkhan for reasons. I'm stuck making a list that'll actually work so maybe one of you amazing people have some awesome ideas Thanks for the help!
  4. So Ive been toying with Legion of Sacrament this week. I tried First Cohort last week and found that unless you play hyper aggressively with Nagash (Which you can do when he has 2 Arkai as well) and protect your Necromancers, your gunna lose the Objective based games the moment your tied up. Anywho, onto legion of Sacrament this week so tonight I am playing (while casting at the seam time some how) with a Legion of Sacrament build I've been toying with. My list is below. I will say, it originally had no battalion and had a Neferata in it which seemed... meh. Leaders Arkhan The Black Mortarch of Sacrament (320) - General - Lore of the Dead : Soul Harvest (Deathmages) Necromancer (110) - Artefact : Shroud of Darkness - Lore of the Deathmages : Overwhelming Dread Necromancer (110) - Artefact : Wristbands of Black Gold - Lore of the Deathmages : Decrepify Units 4 x Morghast Archai (440) -Spirit Halberds 40 x Skeleton Warriors (280) -Ancient Spears 20 x Skeleton Warriors (160) -Ancient Blades 10 x Grave Guard (160) -Wight Blades & Crypt Shields 5 x Hexwraiths (160) Behemoths Mortis Engine (180) Battalions Lords of Sacrament (70) Total: 1990 / 2000 Allies: 0 / 400 Leaders: 3/6 Battlelines: 5 (3+) Behemoths: 2/4 Artillery: 0/4 Wounds: 137

Hi guys I am hoping to get my first game in with the new book tomorrow at the warhammer store ( if there are any opponents there ) the store prefers lower point games so I'm planning a 1200 point list. This is what I've come up with currently. Legion of Sacrament Arkhan Necromancer (Shroud of Darkness) Necromancer 5 dire wolves 5 dire wolves 6 spirit hosts Mortis engine Balewind total 1180 This is character heavy, but it increases the likelihood of spirit hosts returning. My main concern however is the lack of bodies. I was thinking of dropping a necromancer. And buffing the hosts or even dropping the Mortis and adding a cart, and more dogs to increase models. Also I'm a little torn with spells, as each spell is great for different armies I'm struggling to determine what spells I'd want in an all comers low point game. As always your suggestions would be most appreciated
  6. If you were to play a game with all three mortarchs, whose command ability would you take and why? I'm leaning towards arkhan for fluff reasons but whats everyone else say?
  7. I haven't really figured out what a Coven Throne is worth (probably not its points?), but has anyone ever run Arkhan and the throne together so that Arkhan can cast Beguile. Would be interesting use him to cast it on something like a Stonehorn (on an average roll, needing a 10 on 3 dice) or other big unit and charge him into it, forcing him to flee or do nothing and waste its output for a turn. The pair is 600 points and it's probably not worth it, but had the idea and wondered if anyone has pulled it off for a good story.
  8. Hey guys need some advice, what do you think of this for a tournament list. Would it be really terrible? Or would it be able to win any games.   9. I decided to start a deathrattle army (my firs AoS army) and was wondering what mortarch would synergize the best. I'm going to try and stick with deathrattle so lots of skeletons, grave guard and black knights and fluff wise the mortarch will simply be the benefactor of my wight king.
  10. I thought I'd put the recent army let I've got and my intentions for its growth on here for people to comment on. Using the Generals Compendium, I currently have 1360 points of death models I can select a force from. TOTAL Ld/Be. Arkhan the Black DEATHLORD 340 bl. Black Knights 5 DEATHRATTLE 120 bl. Black Knights 5 DEATHRATTLE 120 bl. Skeletons (spears) 10 DEATHRATTLE 80 . Grave Guard (great blades) 10 DEATHRATTLE 80 Ld. Wight King (infernal banner) DEATHRATTLE 120 Ld. Necromancer DEATH MAGE. 120 Ld. Wight King (sword) DEATHRATTLE 120 Ld. Vampire Lord SOULBLIGHT 140 Ld. Banshee MALIGNANT. 120 I'd like to get a second Banshee for its shooting attack but can't really afford even more Leadership slots being used up. I'd like to expand the Skeletons to two squads of 20. The Grave Guard I'd like a second squad armed with shields and getting survivability buffs. I find they don't do a lot of damage but they could perhaps stand and take a pounding and refresh themselves. i'm looking at getting some bases of Spectres for similar reasons. In terms of synergy though this is disparate factions all under the Grand Alliance Death banner, rather than the general enhancing the Death Rattle who in turn enhance the malignant who are all reflecting powers onto the Soul Blight character. No. It's all a bit bitty and a car with grating, clunking gear changes. In Matchplay. As Christmas approaches there may be books that remedy these factions or add rule bonuses. But until then.....
