  1. Most of the Harrowmark is virtually impenetrable forest: Seemingly endless miles of dark, tangled, twisted and unnatural forest. It is a corrupted land: the dead trees are warped by dark-magic, skull-formed rock formations and other symbols and motifs of death are everywhere. Things live in these forests: malignant, spiteful things. It is a brave soul that ventures under the dark bowers, brave or foolish, as few who attempt to navigate the winding pathways ever emerge again. The forests are shaped by the death magic that permeates them and the forest spirits that dwell within are equally affected. The children of the Everqueen take root in even the most barren soil; fallow fields sown with bones and watered with tears, tangled darkwoods and rocky crags. The wyldwoods of the Harrowmark are so cluttered with the remains of the unnumbered dead that the Sylvaneth that dwell within them have become amalgamations of wood, bones, burial goods and grave-shrouds. They often have human (and other) skulls and bones tangled into their branches and limbs, they wear animal skulls as faces and their enchanted weapons appear to be made of the same soul-stuff as the spirits and magics of the realm. ~ 🙐 ~ Painting recipe: Chaos Black spray undercoat, zenithal Mechanicus Standard Grey spray basecoat, dry-brushed Ushabti Bone and washed with Nuln Oil. Bones: Ushabti Bone basecoat, washed with Agrax Earthshade, dry-brushed Ushabti Bone. Enchanted weapons and Spites: White Scar (Air, but brushed on) basecoat, washed with Nihilakh Oxide, dry-brushed White Scar, deeper shadows pin-washed with Coelia Greenshade, Edge highlighted White Scar (Air). Anethum, Branchwych with Bittergrub and Greenwood Scythe Gravethorne, Kurnoth Hunter with Scythe Leafshround, Kurnoth Hunter with Greatbow ~ 🙐 ~ There will probably be more of these tree-creatures soon! The Looncurse is coming, after all.
  2. This thread is dedicated to HEROIC PLAY, a short form style game mode of fast paced combat in AOS skirmish. These rules allow for tighter narratives across 2-3 battles, inspired by clash of wills, my favorite game mode in the general's handbook. In this expansion, i've made some additions to the rules that allow some pretty interesting gameplay options. Featured is the Destined encounter, a new battleplan that is randomly generated each time, meaning new battles each time you roll off! I'm really proud of this and I hope you guys enjoy the latest version, i've been playing this a lot with my club and its been a riot, so far i'm 5 pages in to keep it simple. I'll add more as content is demanded. New Version of HEROIC PLAY. This version adds some fixes to the existing game mode, as well as more information for creating campaigns. There are a few more extra features but I believe my favorite one has to be Malign Portents support! I've included a whole new page specifically fora new guiding portent. I want to see those harbingers hit the table! If you guys can, please let me know if there is any fixes or additions you would suggest. I'd like constructive feedback and suggestions! DOWNLOAD HEROIC PLAY 3.0: https://goo.gl/TKfxBr Update February 14th 2018: heroic play 3.0 - added malign portents support - longform campaign support - named hero support - cleaned up text - Changed sone visual stuff Outdated Content as of 6/6/17 heroicplayforskirmish.pdf

  4. Hey guys, as skirmish is ramping up to be pretty popular, i thought it'd be a good idea to make a thread allowing people easy access to renown points calculations for models not supported in the book. Discussion on not only pointing these models using the [(Unit Points ÷ Unit Min Size) ÷ 5 = Renown Value], but also allowing us to point these models to reflect their abilities in Skirmish as well. As one of the big draws to purchasing the book itself is the points values for supported models, we should keep the topic specifically to conversation on the unsupported model range. I'll start off with: Views on the Devoted of Sigmar subfaction They are quite fragile, but fairly versatile faction. Lacking magic, but having consistent unbinding and abilities that deal mortal wounds. Having cheap heroes means multiple avenues of support. With a Warrior Priest buffing a hero, a warpriest dealing mortal wounds, and a witch hunter being healed by both. Your witch hunter and excelsior warpriest can also benefit from a gryph hound. On top of this, flagellants are wicked scary in numbers! Anyone else have their thoughts on models unsupported by the book so far?
