    Starting a Seraphon Army

Howdy there folks, I am starting up a Seraphon army with some old bits I have sitting around from awhile ago. Before I go and buy a whole bunch of new reptilian friends I wanted to get some advice from you experienced folks. I do have a few caveats, I have about 30 Saurus Warriors, a Skink Starpriest, a Saurus Oldblood, and 12 Saurus Guard, (I bought the old Lizardmen Regiment back in fantasy but converted the Saurus Knights out of it as Ork Bikers ). Also I happen to have an Engine of the Gods. What I am looking for is a fun list that focuses on that incredible infantry with big dinosaurs as support. I do not want to run a slann and spam summoning, it is an interesting and exciting way to play, my main Sigmar army is Legions of Nagash. While I do not mind being infantry focused similar to LoN I would like something that is new and refreshing to play when I decide I do not want to be an arguably overpowered skeleton. Thanks for reading my little novel.
  3. Hello guys, I don't know if you have seen an awesome campaign on kickstarter that involves awesome lizardmen mianiatures :D Here is the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1115856510/lost-kingdom-miniatures-cuetzpal-empire/description They have already completed one KS campaign before this one and the minis were as detailed as they promised (dwarves and orcs) :) Have a good day and I hope some of you will back this awesome project! :)

    Only Order

Hello everyone, and welcome. Brief Intro: Lately, I have been putting the hobby(playing war-games for 10 years) on the back burner due to multiple changes in my life (moving, new job, losing 50 lbs), but I kept buying models, battletomes and paint in the 8 month hiatus. I always enjoyed painting and assembly (actually playing varies), but do not have the time like I did in High school/college for the hobby. So, I made some hard choices and sold about 14 armies/projects/other games and kept my favorite. Surprisingly, My 3 out of 6 favorite armies are order(stormcast are simply tagging along). In this thread you will be seeing SCE, Slyvaneth, Daughters, Seraphon, maybe Deepkin, and other projects. Each army will be planned, have phases, tutorials, and story. Battle reports are possible but later down the road. This thread is a way to stay focus, and motivate, and give back to the community. I will be doing a status updated every Friday (I will post also when models/lore/battle reports are finish). In order for preventing burnout, I work best when I have a main project, and a smaller side project for variety/break. This thread may update into a blog at one point (depends if this works). So let it begin.

    1k mixed order

Hey all, I'll be taking my daughter along to a local 1k tournament soon, but she's having some trouble putting a list she likes together. Her only concrete choice so far is that it must be built around her Anointed Frostheart Phoenix as the tank... I don't play order, and most of her stuff is tangentially purchased or in the case of the stormcast, a 2nd hand army picked up cheap... I've no real clue what's good or not, and wondered if some kind souls could give her some advice i could pass along? ? A complete list of her guys; Frostheart Phoenix Oldblood on carnosaur Scar vet on carnosaur Scar vet on cold one Skink star priest Sorceress on black dragon Archmage Lord castellant Lord celestant Lord relictor Knight venator Knight azyros 20 skinks 20 saurus warriors 10 gladeguard 10 liberators 10 judicators 15 saurus knights 5 chameleon skinks 12 aetherwings 1 gyrocopter 5 decimators 5 protectors 2 concussors, or fulminators, or tempestors 1 gryph hound 3 vanguard palladors 3 hurricane captors 9 longstrike raptors Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

    Morghast beware of Carnosaurs

Played against Seraphon today and his Carnosaur and other, and then stuff and into my morghast...whatever lost one within 8“ of a carnosaur and the bloodroar ability says: if your opponent makes a battleshock Test within 8“ roll a dice, if your roll is higher than his (BS-Test) he looses d3 MODELS if you loose models, you always MUST make a battleshock test, even if it is autopass...so, bring Big Daddy, inspire or get wrecked

    Building up to Heavenswatch Starhost

Hello everyone! After jumping from one army to another I have finally been able to find one that has completely captivated me. I ended up opting for the Seraphon and reviewing the Batallions I found Heavenswatch Starhost, which has two things that I really like: skinks and monsters (I love all of the Seraphon but the skinks are my favorite things) For now we play 1k games since we are building our armies slowly. The list I had planned for 2k is as follows: Leaders Skink Starseer (200) - General - Command Trait : -not sure- - Artefact : -not sure- Skink Starpriest (80) - Artefact : -not sure- Skink Priest (80) - Cloak of Feathers Units 40 x Skinks (200) -Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) -Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) -Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 6 x Kroxigor (320) -2x Moonhammers Behemoths Bastiladon (280) Bastiladon (280) Stegadon (240) Battalions Heavenswatch Starhost (200) Total: 2000 / 2000 Can you think of any way to move it to 1k? Without the battalion if necessary, I simply want to prepare my army at the same time that I am using it to get used to the minis. I thought it could be something like this: Leaders Skink Starpriest (80) - General Battleline 40 x Skinks (200) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers 10 x Skinks (60) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers Units 6 x Kroxigor (320) - 2x Moonhammers Behemoths Bastiladon (280) Total: 1000 /1000 What do you think of the complete list in 2k? I would like to put a Slann but I think I would be short in other fields. In my warhammer group we do not usually play competitive, so the power of a list is not too important, simply that my army can defend is enough.

Painted this little guy for fun. I really liked the colour scheme, may ever get a seraphon army just to keep using it.
  10. Hey folks, found some old metal Lizardmen stuff, seems it sells ok on eBay but I prefer to go through channels like TGA to see if there is interest first. 3x metal kroxigors (but no bases, sorry) 6x metal chameleon skinks 1x skink priest UK posting preferable, can take PayPal!
  11. Hey guys, sadly due to real life and a few occuring I hadn't planned for I'm going to have to sell my Seraphon army. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warhammer-Age-of-Sigmar-Seraphon-army/253350278898 Here is the auction, it's about 2200 points and it's going for whatever people bid for it.
  12. So here’s the deal. I have a still-growing Seraphon army that I’ll be taking to Adepticon in March for my first major tournament. I have no illusions of playing at the top tables, as I’m not that good at the game. I’m more in it for the fun experience. Anyway, I have the following units: Slann Starmaster Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One Saurus Oldblood Skink Starpriest Saurus Astrolith Bearer (just got it for Christmas) Skink Priest with Priestly Trappings 12x Saurus Warriors (spears) 7x Saurus Knights (lances) 15x Saurus Guard 24x Skinks (blowpipes & bucklers - just got them for Christmas) Troglodoni Bastiladon with Solar Engine Stegadon with bow (I also have a Balewind Vortex) I’ve got some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket, and I’m considering another box of Skinks as my next purchase, which would improve my Battleline options for the tournament. I’m curious to see what advice I’d get from the community on my next purchase... I was thinking about going crazy with Battleline and getting 40 Skinks, 40 Warriors, and 15 Guard, but that eliminates points for the big beasties. And of course that involves getting a box of Skinks, a box of Warriors, and another Start Collecting box (yowch big money!). Thoughts?

    Allegiance Cards: Seraphon

    Version 4.00.00

    151 downloads

Age of Sigmar started out simple enough. But the first General's Handbook changed a lot of things. Suddenly you could personalise a few things for your army with command traits for your general and artefacts for your heroes. Then dropped the first battletomes which included allegiance abilities. And the amount grew rapidly. Because I don't like flipping back and forth in my books for every other ability, I created some cards to help keep the important rules right at the table, beside your models. All cards are available as print files with 3mm bleed and cutting marks, as a 'web' version (for viewing on smartphones/tablets), US letter and DIN A4 printing sheet. each set contains: cover / card backside, Battle Traits, Command Traits, Artefacts, cards for spell lores and faction specific skills card size is 63 x 88 mm (same as Pokemon, Magic, 40k Datacards, etc.) language: English I tried to keep the original wording, but sometimes I had to abbreviate it to fit on the card without scaling down the font size. The rule intentions should still be clear. 'Dice' was continuously replaced with D3 or D6, 'wound roll' with 'To-Wound roll' (same for hit), 'Mortal Wounds' sometimes with 'MW' each set can be stored in a faction specific card box, with contents listed on the back (instructions) If you find any errors or have suggestions, please let me know. I had fun creating these cards and hope people will find them useful and have fun using them in their games. All rules, artwork and the Age of Sigmar logo © Games Workshop PLC These cards are for personal use only and you should always keep your General's Handbook and/or Battletome nearby to solve any conflicts from bad wording on the cards. These cards are only a playing aid and never could nor should replace an official publication. Please let me know if I have used anything you would like to be removed. Overview and changes

New Seraphon Player- List Advice Please

Greetings fellow lizard people! I recently acquired a second hand, former Lizardman army and thought I would take a stab at these Seraphon beasties I've heard so much about. Below is the army list which works out to be 120 points short of 2000 and I come to you with cap (Aztec headdress) in hand for advice. What artifacts would you recommend for the heroes (I'm liking Great Rememberer for the Slaan's command trait but open to others)? Are the models I have going to synergise well? Is there something weak/pointless that you would drop? Is there an auto-include for this army? (Saurus Astrolith Bearer perhaps?) Should I be choosing between a lot of Skinks or a lot of Saurus or is it good to have heaps of both? How to spend the last 120 points? Save them for summoning? Saurus Sunblood- I like this guy's punch in melee and gives me a 3rd hero Another 20 Skinks? 10 x Chamelon Skinks? Drop 10 x Saurus Warriors and go for the Shadowstrike Starhost battalion? Re-jig the list and add some Stormcast as allies? Other ideas? Strategy wise I see the Kroxigor, Salamanders and Skink Handlers operating as an independent force on my flank, the Saurus Warriors hold the middle while the Saurus Guard protect the Slaan. The Skinks run around looking for objectives and generally harassing. The Ripperdactyls probably die after an alpha-strike on a suitable target and the Stegadon does Stegadon things (stamps on stuff I guess). Thanks in advance for any help!!! Army list below: Allegiance: SeraphonLeadersSlann Starmaster (260)- General- Trait: Great Rememberer Skink Starpriest (80)Battleline10 x Saurus Guard (200)- Seraphon Battleline40 x Saurus Warriors (360)- Clubs40 x Skinks (200)- Meteoric Javelins & Star Bucklers20 x Skinks (120)- Meteoric Javelins & Star BucklersUnits3 x Skink Handlers (40)3 x Ripperdactyl Riders (140)3 x Kroxigor (160)- 1x Moonhammers2 x Salamanders (80)BehemothsStegadon (240)Total: 1880 / 2000
  15. Halflings are back!! My apologies for not posting for a while, but college got the best of me. Still, last weekend I was fortunate enough to attend an event in Ohio hosted by "Rend 4" Club with my good friend Chuck Moore. You can check out his coverage of the event right here Anyway, the day before the event came and more than half of my army wasn't painted so I had to hold a 6-hour painting session after school to get three colors minimum on all my models (I'm sure some of you know the struggle). However, the task was accomplished and the Halfling "Free Peoples" force was ready to go. Going into event, I was not expecting to do too well since I brought a mediocre list (Steamtank, archers, and demigryph knights are not particularly overpowered), but I planned to have fun anyway. My first opponent was Michael representing Pittsburgh "Steel City Sigmar" club, and from what I've heard he was quite a good player and indeed he was! We played "Duality of Death" and boy I got crushed! His stardrake held one of the obejctives the whole game, while he promptly shot off anything that I tried to hold the second objective with. I've got a major loss that game, but I did score a secondary objective and Mike was a great sport and it was great chatting with him throughout the game! Getting crushed the first game didn't particularly get my hopes up going firther into the tournament but I still was in quite high spirits and even managed to get second in the Painting Comp with my "Ice Queen". Moving on to the second game I ended up playing Chuck's Khorne in "Battle for the Pass" as we both ended up with pretty much the same scores. So far, my Halflings had an undefeated record against his Khorne, and maybe someday he will get that hobbit blood, but today was not that day! Getting initiative pretty much every turn, and rolling incredibly well with my shooting I managed to score a major victory and a secondary objective for that game. Going into the last game, I played Dave Roke who is a part of "Rend 4" club, and I'm just now realizing that I played against all three clubs represented at the event, including my own. The scenario was "Starstrike" and Dave used a Seraphon army with Celestant Prime as an ally. It was my first time playing Seraphon and they are quite a formidable force, especially with Slann casting three spells per turn and blocking all my spells. The absolute MVP of that game was definetely my General on a Griffon holding out on his own against Celestant Prime and Saurus Guard with 1 wound left, and rolling 12 succesful save rolls of 3+. In the end, it was an extremely close game up until the last second of the last turn, where if Dave managed to kill one more model he would've won the major! But that was not the case, as I managed to snatch a major victory from right under the Lizard's claws, which put me at 4th overall and surprisingly 1st in Order! In the end of tha day, I got to play some amazing games of Age of Sigmar and meet some fantastic people passionate about the hobby! The event was a success and the T.O. (Neil Larocca) did a great job putting it all together! That's it from me this time! See you in probably like another month or so. Hope you like what I've got, Until next time!
  16. Hi! I have recently started playing warhammer AOS and o boy I am hooked! I started with a AOS starter set with stormcast eternals pitched up against the Bloodborn (a friend of mine took this part of the set). I initially thought the stormcast eternals were kind of lame but I changed my view completely after painting them and reading the rules. But still, I am inclined to expand my army with Seraphons. The first purchace I want to do is the start collecting set of the Seraphons since it seems such good value. After that, I am a bit unsure. I really like the Bastiladon. A big ranged unit couldn't hurt and it looks great! So far, i came up with this list for 1500 points: Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (280) Skink Starseer (200) Lord-Celestant On Dracoth (220) Lord-Relictor (80) 10 x Saurus Warriors (100) 5 x Saurus Knights (100) 5 x Paladin Retributors (220) 10 x Liberators (200) 3 x Prosecutors (100) Bastiladon (280) Total 1780 points, so i have to make some cuts.. But i would't know what to cut or replace! What do you think of this composition? If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

    Seraphon list, c&c please

Dusting off my dinos for a game this weekend against stormcast and was planning on running this list 3x10 saurus guard Eternity warden Eternal starhost Slann (great rememberer) Skink priest 2x5 chameleon skinks Bastiladon Stegadon So how bad does this suck?
  18. Hey guys! I'm a new player and just have 2 rules questions. 1) Carnosaur's Bloodroar - If a enemy unit takes a battleshock test within 8" I can roll for this ability. If for example a unit has Bravery of 8 and only loses one model, although they cannot fail the battleshock test is technically still made? If it is I can then roll for the Bloodroar. 2) Engine of Gods - Cosmic Engine 14-17 A Seraphon unit is called forth from Azyr to join your army. Set up all of its models within 8" of this model, and away from 9" of anyone else. I assume you have to pay for this unit via reinforcement points?

    Seraphon fluff

Hi guys. New to the Seraphon and I've been reading the fluff (I followed the end times fluff closely then sold my Lizardmen when I heard the rumors of AoS/Fantasy being killed). I'm back into AoS now I really, really miss the fantasy game and Lizardmen are still my favourite army of any system ever. So following the end times - The Lizardmen as a race were all destroyed and the Slann teleported back into the stars. As far as I can tell now - this is where they remain and are working on a overarching grand plan to destroy chaos. When Slann do appear via the stars, normally in a dramatic white light blinding beam teleportation fashion it normally seems "random" to other races but it's actually again part of the "big picture". Slanns have different ideas on how they will vanquish chaos and restore order, but that's what they've ultimately been planning since they were birthed from Dracothian, the great star dragon who breathed life into them. The Seraphon "army" isn't a real thing in itself, it's a army brought into reality from the Slanns raw magical power and is fueled by Celestial energy (Does Sigmar have any part in this or is it purely willed into existence by the Slanns raw power) and the army are made of celestial power. Once the Slann has decided the objective is completed the Slann return to the stars and the armies they have willed into existence go back into memory / celestial energy to be called upon again? This is what I've understood so far. Am i off the mark or this is about right?

    How to Start Collecting: Seraphon

Howdy, folks! This is a guide to show you how to get the most out of your Start Collecting: Seraphon box. I believe the ideal number of these boxes to purchase is 2, in order to minimize the number of unusable models (following Matched Play unit composition rules) from the Knights and Warriors units. However, if your opponents dont mind you paying points-per-model, instead of the increments listed in the General's Handbook, you'll likely be perfectly fine with a single box. With two boxes, you get a solid mix of different units to build, which you can mix and match for 1000 point games. When I use the phrase "full command," it refers to having three models in a unit representing a single leader (Alpha), standard-bearer (Stardrake Icon), and musician (Wardrums). This terminology comes from Warhammer Fantasy Battle. Sprue Breakdown ...for one Start Collecting: Seraphon box. Carnosaur/Troglodon 1 Carnosaur/Troglodon sprue, which is used to assemble the majority of the Carnosaur or Troglodon. 1 Carnosaur/Trogolodon "Riders" sprue, which contains bits for the Saurus Oldblood, Saurus Scar-Veteran, and Skink Oracle. It comes with an additional set of legs for the Saurus Rider to be assembled "on foot". You can find parts of the Troglodon's collar and the back spines on the sprue as well. There are several weapons options and decorations on this sprue, some of which are for units that no longer exist in Age of Sigmar. There are lots of good bits on this sprue for decorating and conversions. If you use the sprues to build a Saurus Oldblood or Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur, you will have leftover bits with which to convert a Skink Hero of some kind. I recommend a Skink Starpriest, as I think he's very useful with the units you will have from Start Collecting: Seraphon. You can also magnetize the Saurus rider to switch between the Saurus Oldblood and Scar-Veteran. I recommend modeling the Saurus rider with armor. If you use the sprues to build a Troglodon, you will have leftover bits with which to create a Saurus Hero on foot. I found this handy guide which explains how to create a Saurus Hero on Foot. With the amazing power of magnets, this Saurus Hero can represent either a Saurus Oldblood or Saurus Sunblood. Saurus Warriors 3 Saurus Warriors Club sprues, which have the bodies, legs, club-wielding arms, shield arms, and shields. 3 Saurus Warriors Spears & Command sprues, which has the heads, spear-wielding arms, banner-wielding arm, two banners toppers, arm holding a drum, arms holding mallets,s. With the bits provided, for each 4 Saurus Warriors you assemble, one model may be assembled as an Alpha Talon, one model may be assembled to carry a Stardrake Icon, and one model may be assembled to carry Wardrums. If the minimum size of a unit of Saurus Warriors was 4 models, you could build three 4-model units, each with full command, from a single Start Collecting: Seraphon box. You are not forced to assemble any Saurus Warrior as a Alpha Talon, Stardrake Icon-bearer, or Wardrummer. As an alternative to Saurus Warriors, you can convert their weapons into polearms by snipping the heads off of the spears, and attaching the heads of the clubs. Tell your opponents they are Saurus Guard. Only 3 of the clubs resemble the polearms from Saurus Guard, so you may look to other bits for an appropriate polearm head. I recommend painting converted Saurus Guard with faded scales/skin to look older and more weathered than Saurus Warriors or Saurus Knights. For Matched Play, these sprues provide enough parts to assemble a 10-model unit of Saurus Warriors with full command. Two Saurus Warriors will be left over. If you make the Saurus Guard conversion, you can assemble two 5-model units of Saurus Guard with full commands, or one 10-model unit of Saurus Guard with full command. Two Saurus "Guard" will be left over. Saurus Knights 2 Saurus Knights Lance sprues, which have lance-wielding arms, the banner-wielding arm, banner accessories (including toppers), shield-carrying arms, wardrums, some club-wielding arms, an alternative head for the Alpha Knight's mount, and some decorations. 2 Saurus Knights body sprues, which contain the Saurus bodies, remaining club-wielding arms, Saurus heads, including an additional head with which to indicate the Alpha Knight, and some decorations. 8 Cold One sprues, each of which contains all the bits to assemble a complete Cold One mount. With the bits provided, for each 4 Saurus Knights you assemble, one model may be assembled as an Alpha Knight, one model may be assembled to carry a Stardrake Icon, and one model may be assembled to carry Wardrums. If the minimum size of a unit of Saurus Knights was 4 models, you could build two 4-model units, each with full command, from a single Start Collecting: Seraphon box. You are not forced to assemble any Saurus Knight as an Alpha Knight, Stardrake Icon-bearer, or Wardrummer. For Matched Play, these sprues provide enough parts to assemble a 5-model unit of Saurus Knights with full command. Three Saurus Knights will be left over.

A new seer in the stars (Of the scaled type)

Hello everyone! Recently locally my friends have been playing a lot of AoS and I've really missed that fantasy esc game and lizardmen have always, always been my favourite fantasy army. So I bit the bullet and I have this on the way to me - New GHB Seraphon battletome 2 Start collecting boxes 24 Skinks 1 Bastilodon 1 Skink Starpriest 1 Skink Starseer. Very, very excited to start work on this all. No idea of any of the rules of anything I've bought, but I get my dinosaurs back!

    Slann Arcane Vassal

Hello guys, I have a question about Slanns’ Arcane Vassal Ability : He can pick a skink Vassal to make a cast that is up to 18’’ away from him. If an opponent that is able to dispel is within 18’’ of the Vassal but not from the Slann will he be able to try dispelling ? Reading the wording of dispelling that “requires a dispelling character be within 18 of a caster casting a spell” I would say he cannot since the Vassal simply channels, doesn’t cast. Thanks !

    How to Counter Seraphon

Hi All, Quite a new player here. I used to play back in 2006/7 but it was too overwhelming for my 6th grade brain. A friend and I have started up again, him starting Seraphon (the one I always wanted of course) and I started nurgle. Before GHB2017, it was fine, but now that he can teleport his carnosaur into me and then when i put a bunch of wounds on him, he can just teleport it out. Not too sure what to do to beat that. (We've only just started trying to play with objectives.) Quote
