  1. The light of Eltharion has to be one of the best models GW has ever made. Such a cool concept.
  2. Im not sure why but I did get a distinct Lovecraftian/ Yellow King vibe from the underworld references. A insect like cult army similar to Genesteslers would be really neat in AoS.
  3. We definitely shouldn't begrudge people for the faction they enjoy. In fact we should be happy to see others get new toys. Each new release brings new folks into the hobby which makes us all benefit. There will always be annoying people in the hobby but I doubt they gravitate towards the same faction. And in any case we shouldn't be generalizing folks. That said, back to rumors and speculation. Be'lekor was one of my first models and I'm so happy to see him get a new release. Who do you think the other major players in BR: Be'lekor will be?
  4. For all this last year's ****** I've been quite chuffed with my hobby progress. 1. I've gotten two more friends into the hobby in 2020. 2. I've painted more models this year than any other, finishing a Skaven army, Blood Angels army, all of my endless spells and painting several great models I've wanted to for a while. 3. GW is putting out amazing new stuff. I'm so excited to delve back into my first love of Legions of Nagash with the new Cursed City. 4. Everyone here makes up an amazing community. I'm usually a lurker but y'all are wonderful to hang out with. Going through my old photos was quite fun here are just a few I finished in 2020
  5. I have quite a few older Nighthaunt but never dived in because of the price of chsinrasps. There are other battleline but I felt like I was playing at a disadvantage. I don't have any of the old zombies. I never loved their desdwalker look. I would love to get the new ones and would commit that painting time, though IDK if I could pay $40 for 10.
  6. Well I guess I'm coming crawling back to death. These zombies are just incredible but they're going to be a nightmare to paint a 40 of em.
  7. Thanks. I had quite a bit of fun casting and sculpting the trees. Next up is the mountain cow!
  8. Potato photo but here's my first unit of Lumineth.
  9. Welcome! We always love to see more people in the hobby. I'm not familiar with sculpey, but epoxies work great for sculpting since they don't require heat to cool or shrink. My go to brands are Milliput and Green Stuff. Baking will most definitely melt the miniatures. As for paints, nice artist paints will certainly work for miniatures. The real difference is likely the thickness of the medium used. Make sure you thin those paints to get nice smooth coats. As an artist you probably know more than I about paint brushes, but here's a tip I wish I learned earlier. Just because the miniature is small, your paintbrush shouldn't necessarily be small. As long as it can hold a fine tip, a large belly is generally preferred.
  10. Finished my first test model! I'm loving the cow theme! Next I'll finish the rest of the stone guard.
  11. All of your stuff is wonderful! I know many folks don't like the cow aesthetic but I can't get enough. Here's my first Lumineth
  12. Did they talk about it recently? Where could we find it?
  13. I liked the opalescent idea a few pages back. I have some FW shimmering blue ink that looks opalescent. I've been wanting to try it out.
  14. Tyrion may not be a behemoth sized model. There are several references to Tyrion and horses. He could be a medium sized dual kit riding a horse like the Liege Kavalos kit.
  15. Just picked up a Verminlord for my quarentine painting. I have a skryre army with 60 clanrata right now and I'm not sure which Verminlord to build. Any suggestions? Also, would you recommend sub assembly? If so what parts?
  16. I never played Warhammer Fantasy, or any of the aelves in AoS. How did the High Elves of old play (elite vs horde, glass cannon vs tanky, etc)?
  17. I'd love to paint their armor in a clean reflective metallic. Anyone have a paint or recipe they really like for such an effect? (I need to finish my current plastic pile soon soon! My desk isn't going to fit the Lumineth.)
  18. I was thinking the same thing. They don't usually do freehand, do they?
  19. Skaven are always at each other's throat even when working together. Each skaven is there because they are either too scared to retreat, are being paid, are in the process of filling a scheme, or are waiting for their opportunity to backstab someone of higher tank and take their place. Usually it's for all of those reasons at the same time. For example a Clan Skryre Engineer might hire some Clan Pestilens plague monks because they serve as meat shields for the precious warplightning cannon. Meanwhile a plague priest has sent the plague monks to spy on the engineer and spread a great plague on both the freecity and Clan Skryre. There are always multiple levels of schemes with Skaven.
  20. A vampire Lord on zombie dragon type kit would be a dream for Tyrion/generic lord.
  21. Ya, I didn't love that ash skin. I'll probably just paint a variety of skin tones.
  22. What colors are you planning to paint this warband? I was thinking of using one of the color shift paints for the armor.
  23. Any plans to release these STLs anytime soon?
  24. Perhaps the scenery we got is made up of two parts. One is the base portal with the gold underneath. The other, this slithering portal that could move around and maybe be killed?
