  1. Question based on the image below: My units are in Blue, and Unit B has the Doppleganger Cloak. My combat phase. My activation: Unit A attacks enemy 1 and wipes it out. Opponent activates, chooses unit 2 but cannot attack due to artefact. My activation: Unit B attacks enemy 3. Opponent activates unit 3 and attacks B My activation: no units to activate Here's the question: Can opponent now re-activate unit 2 and attack, or was that attack lost entirely due to step 2 in the sequence above? Thanks.
  2. Appreciate you @Goddin; you've given me some great food for thought. If I take the plunge here, would love to chat a bit about your experiences actually playing this list since you've done well with it.
  3. Nice. This is right along where my head has been going with this problem.... double-dragon blood batallion. I had provisionally been thinking 3x5 wolves and 9 Spirit Hosts, but 3 blobs of rasp is interesting, and 1 drop less.
  4. Don't want to play Nagash. I think it would be hard for me to do anything different or better than all of the others who are playing it, and I'm not good enough (yet ?) to outperform with the same list. Not sure I'm feeling it. And the inevitable death versus death match-up sounds almost unwinnable in this set-up. But I could be thinking about it all wrong... Ha! The benefit here is that games should be over fairly quickly, for better or for worse. Part of the reason I want to try it. But it seems really hard since it doesn't do much to further our two strongest elements: magic and regenerating hordes. It seems anything Blood can do, other factions can do better. Which is a shame really. I might just go Sacrament if I don't get inspired.
  5. So does anyone have a competitive blood list they are proud of to share for inspiration? I have a 2250 pt tourney in a couple of months, and I want to try out LoB. Need to start my hobby soon if I'm going to make it.
  6. Deathmarch and Castellans of Crimson Keep are the only ones with just the Death keyword instead of a specific Legion. Yes, all battallions gain all Legion keywords, but that doesn't help with regards to the question about Soulblight. So, since Crimson Keep just has the generic Death keyword, I assume it IS legal for Soulblight, unlike the Legion specific battallions.
  7. It has Death keyword, not any Legion. So I assume it's legal?
  8. I really like your PPS! Adding Reiknor is an inspired decision, and goes a long way toward mitigating my concern with these kinds of lists that want to use Cogs but have no casting buffs. He can be tricksy in other ways too. Also a decent amount of bodies and screening to play around with. I'd be tempted to experiment with dropping one of the VLoZD for a unit of Blood Knights, a Vamp Lord and an extra CP (?). Nice work man.
  9. No personal problem. Sorry if my words came across poorly.
  10. Can't disagree with you on any of that Joe as it applies to LoB.
  11. Yeah, there's something a bit off about a 7-drop alpha strike army. But I am deeply sympathetic to the idea of the list. I imagine it's a case where the emotional satisfaction of the epicness of its wins outweighs the disappointment with their infrequency.
  12. I don't think that's right. Chainrasp, yes, but I'm pretty sure GGR are battleline only for NH.
  13. I stand by the interpretation that you roll for Mark for each hit dice thrown. I know some people have argued that it is one per attacking unit, but that doesn't hold up to me. The errata language actually helps clear it up a bit: "On a 6+ the attacking unit suffers 1 mortal wound after all of its attacks have been resolved." Ergo, an attacking unit has multiple attacks, and I don't consider it a stretch at all to say that each of those attacks needs a target.
  14. Because Blood Knights are called out by name: "Favored Retainers: Add 1 to the Attacks characteristic of all melee weapons used by friendly Legion of Blood VAPIRE LORDS and Legion of Blood BLOOD KNIGHTS."
  15. And the bonus is only for Vampire Lords, not just Vampires.
  16. The GK without mount summons ghouls, not horrors/flayers.
  17. Its in the one on the app. You can tell those are the old warscrolls because they still have the old layout/format.
  18. Nagash + lots of endless spells is legit. You are one skeleton/grave guard unit short of a valid FC batallion, though, and technically the necromancer makes it a 2 drop. But a bit of tweaking will fix it right up.
  19. I think he still has to be 1" from the portal, and the 2nd portal must be set up within 18" of the first. But yes, whatever he casts through the portal would have it's range extended by 6".
  20. I like your thought here, but his list is 1990 as is. The command point is from the batallion. It brings up an interesting point, in that you do not "pay" for command points, so you should never be "spending" 50 points in your list for one. You get them automatically for being short.
  21. I'm curious if the new pile-in rules make blades a better option than spears now. Was that intentional?
