Great job! He looks eerie to me, but I don't know if that was the intention or just my impression. Something about the flesh tone and the way shadows fall on his face.
Thanks! Yeah honestly the face is badly done- it's so far recessed into the helmet that i found it impossible to paint properly!

I've got a few lists, each with a different city, but to start I'll be playing them as Hallowheart.

This is so cool that you're building the fort as well! So cool to see pics of the finished army in the finished fort!

Looking great, congrats!
Just a quick question for you. Which parts did you paint separately and then assemble post-painting?
About to start building one myself and just wondering about the practicalities of getting to all those hard to reach areas.
I assembled the full carriage thing, which was fine for me because I didn't want to paint all the interiors. I also put the wheels on, which in hinsight I shouldn't have! Otherwise the full celestial assembly was seperate- the rings, the mount and the cage thing in the middle was all separate. If you do want to paint the interiors, just leave all parts separate for painting- they will assemble easy enough if you either scrape paint off the glue contact points or use superglue.

Great idea for having multiple cities as well. I just had it in my head for one type but that may change.
The army looks fantastic.Yeah i think it's the greatest strength of the book is we can have a Tzeentch rivalling magic army in hallowheart, a destruction rivalling smash and bash army in hammerhal and a skryre rivalling shooting army in Greywater. Getting a whole mix of units makes it a pretty fun process of list building and making interesting mixes of all 3 elements. I mean it's not top tier for any of those, though i think Hallowheart can definitely win tournaments, but it's so much fun mixing all these heroes and units!

Really nice job! Are you planning on doing anything with the Luminark of Hysh bits?
I've got two kits and am building the other as luminark! Haven't got anything to do with the luminark bits from this kit though...

That WHFB sealed box tho!

You are suggesting that an army that is already overperforming should become cheaper?
I think not.
Most of these are for units that are underused in competitive play though? I disagree with clanrats and all the skryre changes though- doomwheels can cut through almost any unit right now when they're properly buffed up!

This is amazing! Can't wait for FEC - about 80% done on my army - should be great for the first dozen games with them! Particularly useful for my Nurgle considering all the hero phase shenanigans.

Damn, that's a cool base. It's practically a terrain piece, but it looks excellent. What's it made of, is it cork? Bark?
Thanks! Cork bark, milliput and a piece from the Garden of Morr/Sigmarite Mausoleum inside holding it all up and providing the door gates.

fantastic looking model, and then you scroll down, see the cairn wraith on the backside incl. OSL *boommm* mind blown.
Cool idea, great details - best mini I have seen in a while!
Thanks dude, really appreciate it!

That looks fantastic, say my friend what materials did you use for those giant rocks and the hill?
It's mostly cork bark. The crypt model, from Garden of Morr set, is the core structure, then two big chunks of cork either side, and then loads of smaller pieces glued in around and then sealed up the gaps with Milliput.

I meant mainly the one with all the skulls.
Ah right- I just pour PVA into that gap and sprinkle small pebbles in. Then super glue skulls in once that's dry!

Niiiiice. How'd you do the rocks on the bases?
Which rocks do you mean? Most of the floors were done with a green stuff roller to the get stone tiles floor effect?

How you do this gore stretching everywhere?
Get some UHU glue like this:
This stuff is like gel- i squirt some onto a board then use a toothpick to pick some up and stick to one part of the model. Then using the toothpick, drag the blob across to another part of the model. The glue goes quite firm within a minute, making it really easy to work with. Wait a few hours for it to properly dry and harden (though it never actually hardens, it's always slightly stretchy), then coat in blood for the blood god, or Nurgles Rot if that's your think!

OP didn't mention it, so just for clarity he's using a textured rolling pin made by a company called greenstuffworld.

Spot on! I recommend them, though you need a hell of a lot of green stuff for a whole army. I've got 2 meters of the stuff and that should just about do it!

yeah, it's great stuff. Admittedly, I had never thought of using it for basing, I have to try that some time.
That Terrorgheist base is remarkable, an excellent use of the ruins!
Thanks- it's about halfway done. I'll post an update pic soon- some skeletons and dead bodies on the floor and larger penants/flags draped on the floor too. I risk going overboard with green stuff everywhere!

most impressive, a wonderful use of green stuff.
Thanks, that's very kind! I've just started using and finding it easier than i thought it would be!

This is going to be one awesome looking army. i'm just scared for you about that amount of plastic you have stocked up on
Haha i know what you mean. I have my home to myself for two months which made me think I could manage it. But i do have 100 ghouls to do....
-
Same with Nurgle drones. Gets very hard to maintain <1" distance between the bases
-
Hi Ritchie- I played you game 2 at LGT, with Nurgle and Glottkin. Great game, though my first against Kharadron. I managed to win my 3rd which was also against Kharadron, so I learnt a thing or two!
-
Love those plague drones! I was annoyed to find that 1 in 3 of them don't fit on the bases or pegs they provide, as the pegs aren't long enough! Have you got them permanently attached to the base or are they removeable?
-
Yeah that makes sense. I do love moonclan. To be honest the list was mostly for open play- I'm running Nurgle for matched play! Thanks for the tips.

Colours look great! The basing work on the darkshards looks great too! What list are you building towards?
