  1. GW already said it : Warcry is a new, distinct IP, focusing on the diversity of Chaos warbands and strange creatures. The 8-9 non-chaos warbands are indeed probably only rules, but we could maybe see one (1) Order Warcry-designed gang, for exemple for Devoted Of Sigmar (notably because the Azyrite symbol on the Warcy poster (with all the 14-15 logo) is kinda new, never used on Stormcast boxes, Firestorm roster, etc.).
  2. Well at least at Warhammer Fest there will be dedicated Warcry seminars (not counting the potential Warcry news at the AOS Preview seminar). Bring it on
  3. Yes and it fits old Sylvaneth Fluff a lot to have them coming with walking trees
  4. I think @Still-young is correct here. It's just community communication. And what do you make of those considerations : - That 6 equivalent infantry warbands doesn't make for an appropriate army updated ? - That the Darkoath Chieftain, the Warqueen and the Underworld Warband share a common and distinct esthetic, and a similar release pattern than the other Malign Portents Herald armies ? - Of the "distinct IP" that is Warcry ? We won't see a Warmamoth and so one with a Skirmish game, IMO. Now, I'm with you that we shouldn't get our hopes too high, nor feel "entitled" at receiving certain releases, but I think there is enough hints there that the idea "STD = Warcry" is false. And If I take the time to write those posts it's because I'm really enthusiastic about all those new releases, not that I absolutely want to prove something P.-S. ; yeah when I say "Models first, rules after", I mean in general. The difference is that WHU was said to be a test in terms of new games design, i.e. something totally unplanned before the small bands came before the rules team. For new armies or something more common and asked for (i.e. an AOS version of Skirmish and Mordheim), I don't see GW releasing a STD update then going all : "oh well, **** it, let's make a Skirmish game out of that !".
  5. I'd like to discuss this statement that popped here a while back. I really do not think the future Slaves to Darkness release is or was mistaken for Warcry. 1) STD (i.e. Darkoath) have to receive a "full" army release sometimes. Why ? Because Maraudeurs and Chaos Warriors, the core of that range, are really outdated. Because STD got a Malign Portent Herald, a Warhammer Underworlds warband, and even a new Heroes before that. They also features in many old and new artworks and books. We already have an established style for the new Chaos Undivided kits (Chifetain, Warqueen, WHU bands, artworks). 2) Warcry was said to be (at the last seminar) a new, distinct IP, with it's own coherence and aesthetic. It is, as of now, 6 chaos warbands of equivalent size, with around 8-10 models, for Chaos Undivided (like Darkoath), but tied to some Mortal Realms (unlike Darkoath) - with Skirmish multi level scenery and Chaos creatures thrown into the mix (Furies, chaos dogs, chaos chicken, probably more further down the line). It would make no sense IMO that the new STD-Darkoath range was, in fact, just 6 infantry boxes of the same sizes and of the same composition, not looking like the already existing artworks and models. No warmamoth equivalent, no characters, just 6 more or less naked barbarians ? Too strange. 3) The story : "We got the models first than made up a new rules system for them" was revealed in the last few months : it's the general way GW operates (models firsts, rules and fluff later) and was the origin story of Warhammer Underworlds. But a Skirmish game is not an unusual sort of game and was something long asked for, and with Kill Teams success, and since Hinterlands and GW hiring Sam Pearson aka Bottles, we knew they were working on something like this for AOS. I'm not saying STD and Warcry are not related, they are. They represent different takes on the Mortal armies of Chaos Undivided, assembling before Archaon for his counter offensive to take back the Mortal Realms from Nagash and Sigmar. But I think they are two different lines product-wise. STD-Darkoath will get their own release some day, like Sacrosanct, Nighthaunt and Gloomspite Gitz, even if it's a smaller one than those 3 (because the Chaos range is already quite good, and because Chaos already got Skaven, Slaanesh and Warcry in 2019). TL;DR : In fact, the idea that "Warcry = the new SDT release" just comes from doomsayers or Chaos haters (and I'm in noooo way a Chaos apologist whatsoever )
  6. Speaking of rumor engine : a new one ! Clearly some new Chaos Warriors properly aosified https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/04/30/the-rumour-engine-29th-april-2019/
  7. My only statement is : I think that a new AOS version of WHQ is currently in the work at GW. Does that idea annoy you ? No need to get all worried about it and to respond harshly, uh And to be more precise, my statement is based on a few important points : firstly the talk from Pete Foley, yes, but also from Jes Bickham, the whole AOS studio Manager, who also talked about it in the last Stormcast Podcast episode. It makes two GW rep talking about it already : knowing that GW watch carefully the informations and news about future releases (and that they like giving hints), the fact they are allowed to discuss this in a podcast is already meaningful. IIRC there is also a recent White Dwarf article about AOS and WHQ. Anyway, as I said above, such games design and models development takes months and even years to complete, and they have source materials to work with already, so a new AOS edition for WHQ is surely coming in the future. I'll dare to add that given the current pace of release, it could very well come as soon as 2020, but that's pure conjecture ...
  8. Well there is at least two podcasts (or was it in some White dwarf article too ?) talking about a future revamped AOS WHQ. So, knowing that GW already have materials and feedbacks (from Silver Tower, Shadow Over Hammerhal and Blackstone Fortress) to work from, and that the creative process usually takes years (firstly in terms of models designing), it's quite clear they are already working on it - otherwise they wouldn't even mention it. I think 2020 is a realistic expectation for a release date.
  9. I see 6-8 probable Battletomes coming between now and 2020 : Sylvaneth ; Kharadron ; Ironjawz (with or without Bonesplitterz ?) ; Disciples of Tzeentch - and of course Slaves to Darkness (Warriors of Chaos + Darkoath + Everchosen). ... Maaaaybe Maggotkin of Nurgle too (but they were created with AOS2 in mind so) - EDIT : and Seraphon of course ! There is 4-5 other "legacy" armies yet in need of an update : Gutbusters (with or without Beastclaw Riders ?) ; Freeguild and Co. (College, Ironweld, etc.) ; Dispossessed ; Aelves (with or without Wanderers ?) - I hope Devoted Of Sigmar becomes a proper AOS faction like Gloomspite Gitz or Daughters of Khaine. And there is 3-6 fluff-rumored armies that could come someday : Shadow Aelves (Malerion) ; Light Aelves (Tyrion & Teclis) ; Grotbag Scuttlers ; a new Death army ? ; a new Duardin united / Golem race from Chamon ? And last but not least, a controversial Slaanesh Mortal release. --- With WARCRY and Forbidden Power coming soon, and probably WH Underworlds Season 3 starting this autumn, there's plenty of things that could be previewed. The last SCE podcasts also hinted that a proper AOS Warhammer Quest was in the work... BRING. IT. ON. .... And that's not counting third party boxed games like AOS Munchkin, video games and the AOS RPG by Cubicle7...
  10. That's pretty exciting (for all game systems) actually. But still, I don't think they will keep Forbidden power for WHF. Well in fact I hope they show it this week end... I don't see what else could be preview yet for AOS !
  11. RE : White dwarf scenery leaks So, do you think that new scenery range "Dominion Of Sigmar" coming with Forbidden Power (cf. the Chinese shipment order : https://spruesandbrews.com/2019/04/23/new-age-of-sigmar-scenery-evidence-spotted/ and that trailer at 00:21 sec https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MyB1a8iWqY ...) will be revealed Saturday 4th May at the Australian Championship preview seminar ? IMO, Warhammer Fest will have enough stuff to show with 40k, the new paint thing and WARCRY. As Looncurse, Slaanesh, Underworlds and Fyreslayers are out or on pre-pre order, and as the new range scenery and Forbidden Power are already in White Dwarf, I guess it's gonna be the next announcement... Or something else ???
  12. So, Slaanesh being only 1 week release, and with all those scenery talk, we'll probably see Forbidden Power on preorder 4th May (next week), release 11th May. Because of those two links ... - Warcry seminar at Warhammer Fest : https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/04/17/warhammer-fest-seminar-schedule/ - "Paint" reveal at Warhammer Fest too (and the funny trailer) : https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/04/23/paint-at-warhammer-fest/ ... It's safe to assume we'll have full reveals of WARCRY and of that mysterious paint thing at the event. (Given the rather limited nature of the Looncurse trailer, I think they'll be back at it at WHF too). So it only leaves Forbidden Power before that.
  13. Glorious. Long live TGA and this thread ! I hope against all evidence that we'll get new artworks of Ulgu and even a MAP or two... But I don't hold my hopes up. .... And I can guarantee all of you it's just a normal Herald on Exalted chariot with a new name, like "Skullmaster, Herald of Khorne" (not a new unit nor a named unit like Skull Taker). EDIT : or the Herald of Nurgle now called : Poxbringer, Herald of Nurgle.
  14. Well yeah everywhere (here, FB, WoS, Dakka, etc.) at least a few people are (rightfully) asking for Mortals... And yet in a few hours the trailer got more than 500 likes the AOS page. As it looks like "this is it", I'll do my recap of the release (counting Wrath and Rapture in) : - Good tier : The Keeper Of Secrets (and the options) Syll'Esske (aka Xerxes and Artemise) The Infernal Enrapturess The new Fiends (As I quite like the existing Slaanesh range, from the Exalted Seeker Chariot to the Hellstriders, I'll add them here too) - Ok tier : The Masque (well I didn't liked its previous iteration so... but it's a great sculpt just not my cup of tea). Shalaxi Helbane (the paint job and the hair maybe ?) - Bad tier : The Fane of Slaanesh (can go to OK if the cartoon KOS head can be easily removed). The Endless spells (seriously WTF, after the Khorne and the FEC ones I thought they learn to make them less cartoony...) The Mirror girls (the mirror is ok but looks too 40k, and the 2 girls do not fit at all IMO : ugly cartoon insectoid faces, too civilized and modern clothing and haircut) THE LACK OF MORTALS (that horse will be double dead by tomorrow).
  15. Well... True for Khorne, but in fact it was an AOS 1 Bloodbound book, followed by and AOS 1 Blades Of Khorne, recently updated by a AOS 2 book. No AOS2-era books have been updated as of yet, even Stormcast (as many armies are stuck with AOS1 books or no book at all). Many armies deserve their turns with this second edition : amidst that why make an incomplete Slaanesh tome, GW, why ?
  16. Yeah that's our only hope (just like 40k 7th Ed Tzaangor release, later coming for AOS without the pistols sprue). But still : that would outdate the Battletome at once. So, so strange...
  17. The other FB comments don't have the "this week", and all point out to Warcry, which is not released until this summer... So yeah it's dead. Well, I'm mostly a Daemon player anyway, but still sad to NOT have Mortals on foot...
  18. It's such a shame really. Warcry will be Undivided mortals. The only hope was another week of release with the Enrapturess and the Fiends.... But the reaction of GW guys on FB makes it clear : no Mortals. We are talking about AOS Mortals. Emperor's Children may come this year too (I hope!), but there won't be any mortals before a very very hypothetic campaign release (with Aelves, maybe)..... But I'm left contemplating what could have been, like this guy : https://malignportents.com/story/the-scent/
  19. Yes but the release of the Tome seals the release window for Slaanesh for month, even years (the WarCom guys on FB are now trying to redirect people asking for mortals to WarCry....). It's so sad....
  20. ...... So, that was "just" dismounted Hellstriders after all. Well, I'll just get the book and the KOS, then. Maybe the "daemon" prince too, as the Xerxers-300-persians looks fits slaanesh really well. What a SHAME.... I mean just IMAGINE how cool a whole Mortals range based on that "Xerxes-300-Persians" design would have looked !!!
  21. Well, the BDSM stuff also match the definition of the Malign Portents Slaaneshi Lord : https://malignportents.com/story/the-scent/
  22. With the articles about Slaanesh last week, it's possible we'll see announcements for Slaanesh preorder tomorrow. For AOS we still have the Forbidden power expansion to come too, so IMO it's gonna be : Slaanesh - FP expansion - Looncurse - Warcry.
  23. So Slaanesh and Warcry between now and May ? HEAVEN (I mean, HELL !)
  24. They precisely said on Facebook it wasn't that. It's either new spray cans, an airbrush or a whole rehash of the paints range.
