  1. Obviously he should of written FAQ on the back of a napkin and told the players it was official. But it is amusing to me for people to warble on about how we can't know intent when we all know full well that intent doesn't matter to them. It isn't that you can't divine intent, it's that you don't care.
  2. "We can't know the intent of the rules" The literal writer of the rule "Here is what I intended" "You're wrong"
  3. XD Durnit I do not want arkanaut armies. Boats are the heart of the faction, not dwarves with their 4 inches of movement.
  4. Almost everyone could bring a tier 4 wizard and the dice balance was on the side of the casting army every magic phase. Almost every army could, if they chose to, compete in the magic phase. Only a few just didn't have the tools (other then dwarves who obviously didn't have the tools by design) It was not nearly as bad.
  5. I mean, the same people will tell the rules writers they are wrong too. Happened to Cruddace two years ago in the NOVA open 40k finals
  6. I have a huge problem with people who myopically declare “you must play to every rule exactly as written with no editing or thought allowed or you aren’t a real AoS player” while also trying to find loopholes and errors to either exploit or be jerks about. AoS players, and yes even TOS, should feel free to change rules to make the game more fun or balanced or whatever within their communities and even tournaments and I have noticed you on the forefront of just insulting people who consider house ruling or changing things
  7. Irondrakes are only scary if they aren't directly charged anyways
  8. Yes, people are this pedantic. Best is to avoid playing these people
  9. GW literally made a shooting army. So, kindly, ****** off telling me I am not allowed to play my army.
  10. There’s no saving those armies in the current edition. AoS has always had winners and losers, much as I wish you could rescue them.
  11. The current evolving dominant paradigm is three plus save monster heroes. Not shooting. Not even Lumineth shooting. We'll see where the edition takes us, but shooting armies need the help of unleash hell against what looks to be the dominent meta and taking it away just further cements one type of army as viable.
  12. Nah, he has a place now where he didn't before.
  13. This is why arhcaon and nagash are getting such good milage right now. All in on the swolest hero you can. I do think double heroes are gonna be ultimately better for the best big heroes. Gotrek though is a poor comparison. If he had a 12 inch movement, Gotrek would be brutally overpowered. It wouldn't even be fair. You'd take him every time. The meta would be gotrek and ways to kill gotrek. No one is taking a monster hero that can only move 4 inches, it'd be terrible. I wish gotrek had the kind of movement all the big monster heroes (But like, it's good he doesn't)
  14. having unkillable hero monsters means they can do their damage unopposed. And they tend to do a lot of damage.
  15. Admiral and a couple (or more) Endrinmasters in a boat
  16. The limitation of double ironclad is you can't really do that and a battleboat super easily
  17. Nah, Pheonixes get there. They quite good No one, and I mean no one, is hiring a megagargent competetively.
  18. Playing the shooting army, KO, I have been doing dramatically, and I mean dramatically, less damage with shooting then I did before. It's night and day. Unleash Hell is literally carrying the army since killing all those 3 plus save monsters is quite difficult.
  19. I have to ask, what do you think rolling dice is based around? I hate this kind of response, it is so passive aggressive. If you don't like thinking about math in a mathematically driven game, just say that. Don't do this "Oh but rolling dice tho". I hate doing math, but I still understand the game can be understood with probabilities and play to it. If you use basic probabilities, you will be a better player then one who doesn't.
  20. XD, Most wargames ultimately revolve around probabilities
  21. ironically, as a KO player, shooting feels much weaker because of how saves work now and the loss of reroll triumphs. It really is just mortal wound shooting best exemplified by sentinels that shine through.
  22. Flatly, saves are extremely influential unless you are playing an army that regularly ignores them. So LRL and Tzeentch don't care that much about saves, no. All out defense is weak against them. But the math for saves is, in fact, more influential to the outcome of an attack them the match for hit or wound rolls for units with already good saves. Particularly because save stacking is an easy way to negate rend and incredibly common
