  1. Today the gang sits down to talk about how to be a good opponent, community member, and overall just decent human being when playing Age of Sigmar. Before game etiquette! Body odor! Haiku! Don Bluth movies! This one is weird for sure. A SUPER big thanks to our sponsors for letting this insanity happen. Join us on Discord! 2. This right, we’re talking about the Lumineth Realm Lords! Unfortunately the usual gang is clueless on these light aelves, so thankfully we’ve roped in local Lumineth expert McKenzie to tell us all about the lore, how to get started, and why Teclis decided to go with those pants. The gang also swoons over all the new vampire models and a bunch of cartoon characters. You’ll walk away knowing more about us than you ever wanted to! 6. My goal this year was to have a full 2k army in each GA, painted and based and all that. I certainly didn't expect the year to deliver QUITE so much free time for painting, but it's safe to say I blew that goal out of the water. This year, my goal is that, by Dec 2021, I have every bit of grey plastic I owned at a tabletop standard. Hopefully that will keep me away from new factions for a bit and give us some more factions to show off in battle reports.
  7. I know the name Bort is probably a reference to dark diamonds, but every time I hear it:
  8. This episode the gang is joined by resident gargant expert Eric, who’s here to tell us how this faction works and just how many foot jokes they can make. They also debate which AoS faction is probably the most delicious meal (spoiler: it isn’t Nurgle). As always, thanks to our sponsors, and a HUGE thank you to all of our listeners! We’ll be back next year with even more of this nonsense. The post S01E19 – Son of a Behemat appeared first on Atlanta Warhammer. View the full article

  10. The show is old enough to vote and buy a gun! This episode the gang is talking about the new(ish) book Broken Realms: Morathi, and diving into all the sneaky plans of said snake-lady. Spoiler alert: she’s just terrible. Special thanks to Giga Bites cafe for helping us get a physical copy! If you want to avoid REAL spoilers, jump ahead to 1:58. Otherwise it’s time to start breaking realms! Apologies for the funky audio in places, it’ll be all worked out by the next show. Promise. For real this time. As always, a huge thank you to our sponsors, and especially YOU for listening! If you like the show, tell a friend! The post S01E18 – Morathi is Just the Worst appeared first on Atlanta Warhammer. 12. All I can say is that I hope Volturnos is watching his back. It's not like Morathi has a history of betraying and lying to allies...on every other page of this book.
  13. I feel like Marakarr Blood-Sky exudes some serious Boris Vallejo energy, except she's both the heavily muscled beefcake and scantily clad damsel.
  14. The gang is back to talk about the GTC, with special guest Cody! Join us for recaps, final thoughts, and a very serious discussion about Sun Tzu’s influence on the Warhammer meta. 16. Not trying to stir the pot here, but if the argument is that the SoB are not a good faction because they will not see much expansion past their initial release, just like every other AoS faction minus Stormcast...isn't that just how the game is? I've never known anyone who bought into a new army with the expectation that they would get a slew of new models anytime soon. That really seems more like a complaint against the game's release schedule itself, not so much the SoB. I agree that the army, on paper, is limited to only two boxes, and the Mancrusher price increase + only getting 2/3 is a bit wonky, but most SoB players I know intend to eventually own all three variants, myself included. I have no evidence to back up my claim here, but I would doubt that SoB are anyone's first Age of Sigmar faction. And if someone ONLY wanted to use them, there's still tons of conversions and kit bashing that can be done to make something unique.
  17. Just finished building my Warstomper! I've got two AleManChaos Gargants already (hooray Troggherd) so I'm roughly 1/3 of the way there. I'm thinking of doing a second Mega as a Gatecrasher, then rounding off the list with four more of the 'little' ones.
  18. I saw this thread title and thought, well of course they aren't! They probably eat three tons of food a day. What army has that much to spare?
  19. Seriously, having updates to the PDF is great - mind sending that idea over to GW proper? 😉 Our group just finished our second session yesterday, and I'm having a blast running the game for them. I think I've gone a bit overboard and made an introductory video to the game, tons of maps they'll never battle on, mood playlists, etc. I was initially a little concerned as some of the players are more 'min-max' oriented than RP, but they're really getting into it now. Combat has been a ton of fun and allows for a lot more dynamic moments. Case in point, our Warpriest last night combined mettle and their first-ever use of Soulfire to use what we've all now described as "Sigmar's Orbital Laser", blasting Light of Sigmar into an Ogor and dealing 8 damage that ignored armor. Needless to say, the Ogor was reduced to a very fine red mist.
  20. There’s a big tournament in a few days, taking place right here in Georgia: The Giga Bites Team Championship! Join the usual gang and special guest Kai (he’s running the GTC) as we talk about all the lists, make terrible predictions, and really can’t pronounce anything to save our lives. Plus someone drinks directly next to their microphone and it sounds QUENCHING. If you’re looking for the lists, check out this post on AtlantaWarhammer.com! As always, thanks for subscribing! 22. His 'signature attack' is to jump up and down. Thats so dumb and I love it.
  23. Welcome to Bone Town! Wait no, scratch that. That looks like a pretty fun, melee heavy list. The only thing I might leave out is the Mortisan Trident battalion, it isn't bad or anything, but you'll probably run out of spells that you can cast, especially with Arkhan already on the table. Plus it means you can's spread out your heroes too much to support other areas of the board, which limits your ability to hold an objective. Though since you seem to be playing open play with 2320 points up there, if it makes sense for the game go for it! You'll almost always want your general to be a non-named character, so that you can get that sweet command trait on them. The Legion you pick will determine the first artifact and command trait, but there really aren't any poor choices besides Ivory Host (I want to love them but they make it so hard). I'd recommend Mortis Praetorians if you're looking for a solid defensive play, or Null Myriad if you know you're going up against a magic heavy army like Tzeentch/Hallowheart/Seraphon. With all that resurrection power you've got, Crematorians might be a fun game as well, but you'll need to protect your lone Harvester for it to really do some damage.
  24. It's a decent wound sink, and the healing/plus to spell casting is nice (though a Corpse Cart has better range if all you want is a +1 to cast, AND is 100 points cheaper), but I think it's real strength is being huge and spooky looking. I used to use mine to bait players into focusing on bringing it down, even though it's really not much of a threat unless you're fighting a low bravery faction. Getting the best use out of it's once per game explosion requires positioning and luck; when it works it's fantastic, and when it doesn't it's a bit of the bad feels. The same goes for the ranged attack and its spirit host attack, so the unit as a whole is very swingy. For Rule of Cool though, absolutely!
  25. AoS reminders, all day every day. I rotate between 8ish armies (well, before the apocalypse at least) and having reminders for each of them really kept me in line. I certainly wasn't mastering any of them, but I was competent enough to have a good time, and more importantly, not hold the game up while I looked for rules. When I really wanted to get down to learning a list (for me, Nurgle/SCE/Ossiarch) I'd queue up tons of battle reports while I painted. Hearing the army in relation to the phases helps immeasurably, especially on channels like Rerolling Ones where they explain what they are doing. It's actually super helpful when they go back and correct themselves too, because that particular rule/ability gets lodged in my brain as something to watch out for. Full disclosure though, I'm no where near a competitive player at heart, so my bar for 'learning an army' is that I remember 95% of my abilities and don't slow to a crawl on my turn while I examine ever war scroll.
