  1. Sad but true. 8th ed woodelves were the best. Now we are relegated to tiny peripheral army with a few choices leading to the same boring lists. We even lost our name.
  2. @Aezeal ok thanks for explaining. I probably overreacted however what I said it still not incorrect. It’s a conflicting opinion is all. We can agree to disagree but I do believe sotw are better and they should be being the elite archers since waywatchers were removed as woodelves. GG are battleline and have more accessibility, wounds per point cost, larger unit, rend one shot, easier to move and fire without losing effectiveness etc making them very useful to compliment the sotw. GG are also rubbish after they use their one shot rend and/or drop below the 20 models needed to retain 3+ to hit. Awful in combat with almost no armour. Not much worse than SotW granted. Having an opposing opinion doesn’t make it incorrect.
  3. "This is a completely incorrect statement’’ That is a rather arrogant response. You even agreed sisters of the watch are elite if only in lore so you’re argument is confused at best. -Sisters of the watch don’t count as moving when they ‘teleport’ - that is correct. -That this subject was debated earlier in this thread - also correct. -SotW are considered elite- some may disagree but I’m pretty sure most agree glade guard are the rank and file while sotw are elite. -I never mentioned points. So no statement error there either. Sure they have different roles, more wounds for GG, objective grabbing, easier to move etc and rend is useful vs some armies so a mix is usually best. I’m allowed to voice opinion on which is best no need to dismiss it like that. I wasn’t trying to get into a huge in depth discussion again as it’s already been done. Power wise SoTW do better but there are many caveats and situational circumstances that can alter both units effectiveness. This is a friendly forum. This isn’t the first time you’ve had a go my posts.
  4. Yeah look further back in this thread (or the old version of this thread) this was debated before and GW confirmed it does not count as having moved making the sisters of the watch much better than glade guard are now and as our elite archers they should be.
  5. Is it me or does every wanderer army list for 2k look the same? I just looked at the dozens of various 8th edition army lists I had made on a spreadsheet years ago and they were awesome interesting and very different mostly without any allies. Some built for speed, others for shooting, themes, Combat, balanced, Monster Mash etc..These days I see army lists posted here and they look identical if in a different order. My comment is in no way a reflection on the community and players but the game itself. I haven't played in a while now and I dont see anything interesting to return to sadly. GW need to give us something more interesting than just shooting, its not fun to play against a shooting army so my usual opponents are not particularly enthusiastic about playing a game these days. At least in 8th I could rally the wild hunt and give my opponents a good scrap. Our only battalion basically dictates almost our entire force making it predictable and quite frankly frustrating to play by the lack of choice in the army. Wild Riders are awful, SotT are way over priced with a nerfed spell. Its been years now and not enough has changed for Wanderers.
  6. Also for SotW - "Loose until the last" means they can delete or seriously hamper a unit that charges them IF have 20+. Units of 10 are much easier for the enemy to overrun but of course you do sacrifice some flexibility and not all eggs in one basket. Just something to consider.
  7. Oh yeah good point. It is not clear enough in my view. It only states when to autokill models. it doesn't say only if they run do you attempt to auto kill them. Until its FAQ'd people will assume you're dead if you don't roll 5 or 6 and probably still dead if you do If it only applies IF the enemy rolls a 5 or 6 then it's not as bad as I had thought and is probably ok but its really easy to surround foes in a game where everything moves mega fast. it's still OP. I wouldn't enjoy using it or facing it, it's a nonsense ability. It means dark elves could basically trample Kurnoth hunters into the dust....erm? Really I don't think so.
  8. So a 33% of moving only 6" away is not good odds of escape and you can easily box in units so if they do manage to run they still get wiped out, whatever is left will flee to battle shock. Multi Wound, non-monster units will not stand a chance. OP rules to get our attention are a worrying trend with AoS. At least you don't have to roll 320 dice every hero phase.
  9. Blimey, I thought Kunnin Ruk was bad. Who will want to play against that? Its Auto kill anything in combat with you. Thats insane, Who at GW thought that was a good idea? Fix the forgotten armies and stop introducing ridiculously OP rules for stuff that doesn't need it.
