  1. Impossible to do proper scale battlegrounds. something will always be out of scale certainly when it comes to GW games. true LoS has always been a bad rule but GW does not want to go to the old way of LOS rules requiring multiple pages to explain. Makes more sense overall but its not as easy to remember especially for new players. Range of attacks, miniature size, base size, travel distance, total battlefield size, buildings, trees and other envoirements are misaligned in size to use "true line of sight" properly, so i basicly just assume its always visible unless its impassible terrain, giant cliff/hill or building. For friendly games it shouldnt matter much if at all.
  2. I wasnt a fan of the overall lore/quest , relationships among the characters was decent. Descriptions of fighting and scenery were even more lackluster and silly. Would put it at the bottom of my warhammer books (just a tad above the high elves endtimes), and ive read alot of them.
  3. GW has always been horrible when it comes to balancing and updating armies. 7-8th edition demons of chaos got into 1-3rd place in ~90% of all large(30+ player) tournaments. Back then armies got updates once a year if lucky and no point/rule changes were done at all untill the next books. GW has improved with it for the past 2-3years but i still wouldnt say they are good at it. Atleast now there are generally some point changes which eliviate some issues but overall GW still has alot of improvements to do for competive play and balance. That said balancing and maintaining a dozen armies isnt easy and would require GW to be more invested in watching and making changes to the comp scene regulary. Maybe it will happen someday.
  4. warcry Elf models got stupid hair but thats easely fixed, the positions i would have to make better bases so that it makes more sense to stand in that way for the mage and archer. Swordmaster: holding blade wrong (unless she a lefty) and an ok static pose. Mage: looking grumpy AF(which is ok), stupid balance position which would be acceptable if he was balancing on something magical instead of regular large rock. Better if he had a cool atacking/commanding stance instead. Cow Elf: Extremely static pose and holding the hammer somewhat weird instead of a good defensive position. Overall seems fine. archer: just fired a shot, the pose itself if it wasnt for the legs would have been good. Again no reason to stand like that; aside that GW wanted to use stupid large round rock bases and for some reason want the elfs to balance themselves in a silly way.
  5. Regarding popularity. High elves were one of the most popular armies in regular and comp play back in 7-8th ed. (top3 certainly for regular play) HE popularity came largely from being elves, lots of varation and viable options without being stupidly bad or OP. New elves are not gonna be as popular as they used to be, but i dont think they will be unpopular either. While all people i know online or offline have no interest in current cow elves, they most likely end up being pretty average in popularity for regular play. Competitive i cant say yet but considering they dont seem OP i doubt they will suddenly become most played. Tyrions release might push them into top popularity again though.
  6. Ha, I remember way back when i was contemplating buying allarielle cause it was a cool model. But even with the discount from LFGS i found it to be too expensive and she shouldnt be that much. Then here comes teclis; an ugly model (subjective), not limited edition, not boutique doesnt require more materials than other cheaper GW models but he is 130euro.... GW is gonna GW.
  7. Teclis price is outrageous. Luckely i find it an ugly model and am not interested in having that model so guess ill be saving some money. Also 30euro for the (20)dice? I rather have had 10 of those for 15euro just for the novelty.
  8. Are these battleforces coming out each end of the year (with 4different armies at once) ? Or are the release dates random?
