  1. Im sure its been answered before but just asking to make sure. the vulkite berzerkers wording specifically says “had 20 or more models” i have a 20 man unit it is at 4+ fury save. I take 10 wounds. Do i get the 4+ for all 10 wounds or do i roll til the first guy dies?
  2. quick question: i have not had a problem in my scene, in any scene or tournament have you guys had problems using the warrior models as long beards so long as theyre modeled correctly? Ive been using them since old fantasy and ill be going to adepticon so im making sure it hasnt been an issue
  3. What does a current dispossesed or mixed dwarf tournament list look like?
  4. My store is doing a league here soon and i have tons of dwarfs some made lots in boxes. Im going to be mixed dwarves rather than just dispossesed. my 1k so far runefather on magmadroth with the thermalrider cloak Runelord 20 warriors 20 vulkites 6x skywardens kitted with drill cannons and volley guns. (Could be endrins i just dont got em built that way) I like it because its two healthy blobs that can move up the field and two fast moving flyers that can flank and get objectives. The real questions is the command trait, item and magmadroth in general. The magmadroth is a good speedbump for my dwarves to get into position and an excellent flanker also really great at 2 places of power. But hes coming at the cost of warriors instead of longbeards. So are the skywardens. So here are some ideas have for trying to achieve the same thing but with longbeards Runefather > rune smitter. Less pain but can buff the vulkites Skywardens > runesmitter. Two droths -3 Skywardens > grundstocks or a celestar balista runelord > battlemage with mystifying or wildform
  5. Something that makes grundstocks battleline
  6. What about instead of morathi run aventis firestrike. Dont buy command points buy endless spells? Now with the points you save from morathi to aventis you have enough for a dryad blob or to beef up a revenant blob if youre worried about drops. Aventis doesnt have the staying power of morathi but is a suicide bomber of mortal wounds.
  7. Hey there ive been playing dwarves and stormcast for a while and really just need a change both those srmies just feel boring to me now and i want something new. I also want to do this new one as a challenge and run it on a budget. Its 450 dollars to amass the biggest army i can with an effective 2000 point list. The 450 obviously will get 20% off because yay american stores. I wound up with a pretty cheap combo list Chaos lord on manticore lord of slaanesh on daemonic mount lord of slaanesh on foot sayl the faithless chaos sorcerer lord Chaos lord on daemonic mount 3 x5 chaos warriors 20 chaos knights slaanesh Cogs And its a buff the knights and pile drive them twice into your enemy and hope to win after. obviously that might be a fun gimmick but it seems like hot garbage. Is there a better way i can run a busget army like this in chaos?
  8. How is the army looking so far as far as strength goes? Is this a tournament army or moreso a fun army?
  9. Yeah youre completely right i didnt think about that as i wrote it it has to jump the whole model it cant shimmy back and fourth to the same spot. I was also wrong about hexwraiths their thing is movement phase . maybe i play with a different crowd that n everyone else. The group i play with wouldnt hesitate to do this if they could and it isnt unsportsmanlike its just rules as written. And even though we really just play for fun we’re harder on each other than any tournament ive played in. So i dont see the sportsmanship angle because my crowd is just “dems da rules” like with the purple sun. It technically can move its ten inches and make a circle and stop where it is. We all mentioned that the second we read it and nobody had a problem with how that works. So i think people would be less upset it about it than you think. but lets be real. If you can jump a whole stardrake over a unit thats not a solo hero and have space? Even if its a solo hero. Either he doesnt have very many models, which likely. He messed up real bad and didnt space the unit right. Or straight up hes lost that area anyway because he lost so many models an that extra d3 or +1 to hit doesnt matter. That base is huge you need an oasis to land that move. Just stormcast specifically. Theres so much stuff that just completely abuses that rule that isnt stormcast that i think we have nothing to worry about. And imma shift this to the tauralon “the pegalizard” because i dont see the stardrake ability that deals d3 mortals for flying over someone but i know that the tauralon gives the bonus for fairy shark mouth dust. That base isnt stardrake but still big enough to make it hard to land that gap is hard to find. And often at least vs undead that just raise models in combat can block this move from happening all together
  10. So I’ve been working a lot and finally got a chance to play the new units and am wondering if anyone had similar results. I only played against nighthaunt today and it was only 1000 points so keep that in mind and no malign sorcery yet havent assembled it yet. Evocators are love. 5 of these guys seriously outdid themselves. In the three games we played today i got their spell off once but how hard they hit without it and not use the great staves was satisfying. Also the extra unbind came up more than once. 11/10 almost auto-include sequitors are really good if you use the command ability on them otherwise they outperform liberators and thats all i have to say about that. Super durable with hammers of sigmar Castigators we started making jokes calling them uselessitors i only ran them in a single unit of 3 but if i got lucky they plinked a wound a turn. They held objectives and thats about it. Looking back through i see a lot of people have them in their lists im curious if they perform for everyone else. They are a cheap unit at 80 points and only 15 bucks. And they can be rend 2. They definitely are cost efficient just they did nothing at all for me. Lord arcanum is clean. Not much to say that isnt said i think a lot of people agree that his resurect ability is its not broken in a tournament sense but im saying its broken because my evocators just had a hard time losing a model and in combat he either did 9 wounds or 0 there wasnt an in-between. knight incantor failed her spell a lot or died before i got to use her but i know shes amazing and an almost auto include. Ballista really really needs multiples or an ordinator. Alone 5 more sequitors or another incantor would do you better. It isnt bad it just needs volume of shots not just one. It did not perform but i can tell its decent just needs more. Curious to see what you guys thought and if you’ve tried majority sacrosanct and its been succesful.
  11. I feel you but lets be honest when else do those abilities really get used for just about anybody? Even in 40k unless youre on a jetbike its a once per game thing maybe but you still pay for it. This at least makes it more reliable. For the one stardrake we get to use it with wait til a whole unit of hexwraiths is shimmying over our units pulling that bs. Because normally its a 7” tax before you can even do it. Gotta be 3 away both start and finish and the model is at least an inch. They have two models spaced an inch which isnt uncommon thats 10 inches base to get one model to do the thing. Too unreliable. Jazzy shuffle in the pile in? Completely reliable.
  12. Hopefully that is the mildly infuriating thing about the box if you buy two you are 1 over on all units with 10/9 castigators 16/15 sequitors and 6/5 evocators. If you buy the push to fit boxes you are 13/12 castigators and 19/20 evocators. Its not a big deal its still good amount of models and at least we get special weapons for the sequitors but it hurts the ocd in me. But it does mean 1 test model per unit.
  13. That could be really cool. I was thinking with the paints i have almost doing a minotaurs paint scheme. Brass armor red accessories with black and off white accents it looks good in the few marines that i painted and are now collecting dust from a project never finished. That or doing the black templars scheme. If you base in eshin gray drybrush dawnstone and double coat in nulin oil it turns out really clean with a matt or satin varnish then you can quarter the shields in white and red. But i swear ive seen an army that does steel with green accents and you could do a white shield or a quartered white shield with green. Green and white always look good That or go classico hammers which is probably what ill end up doing if i dont hammer down an idea.
  14. They are dope ill be honest thats kinda why i want to stick to sacrosanct. I want a mostly caster army and the robes remind of black templars/dark angels but way cooler.
  15. So i just bought in with two soul wars boxes i have a few liberators ive been using in my mixed order list. Is there any staples of the army i should pick up for this new edition?
  16. Im with you but i think the only way pre painted in this game could work if they did like Dust does right now. Their lead developer paints tons of the minis boxes them and sells them having them exactly like the nox art. A normal box of of your ww2 german power fist zombies might cost ya 30 bucks but a box hes painted would be 80. Same thing but eavy metal. But i fully agree if my space marine looks like a hero click ill protest.
