Don't worry about the weapons, get some games in and see how you feel. I have no shields in my ten and they seem to operate fine without them, considering I only play 1000.
Good choice on the green, always better to go for a natural skin tone when using coloured armour.
-
Makes Silver Tower an absolute steal. Over here in the UK it means you get £45 of characters and then the rest is £55 of game. Granted, it isn't cheap, but if you use websites with percentage discounts its bearable.

This is nice. Has a very retro feel to it but done with modern skills.
I like
Thanks It's why I keep the rest of my scheme quite natural and neutral, since the green and red are so vibrant.

Grats, buddy. You can really tell you're progressing when you look at this piece.
Thanks If you check my forum thread I have him next to the weirdnob.

Thanks All this is filling me with confidence for when I get down to doing Tzeentch stuff, which might be harder and involves colours I use less. The skull is a weird addition to the sprue really, but yeah I guess it adds the crazy savage element.
-
Would certainly be an odd one, though at least they would be seeing use!
-
Haha you're too kind. I am very excited, I have always liked Tzeentch but his model range outside daemons has sucked, and pure daemons never drew me in. People saying the sorceror lord on disc being a potential staple makes me sad, it is so oldddddddd.
Nah fair enough, I was the same all the time til basically moving here. I guess the taboo of it in school, hid it away, took big breaks. Now I am being consistent, and even my warchanter is noticeably better than my weirdnob, who I personally think is ace. Hah, well maybe one day, the Top table at a tourney eh?
Sounds like a grudge match mate!
-
I'm afraid not, at least not that I know of. I only have 1000 Ironjawz, give or take a couple of characters, and I want to give greenskinz a break to paint 1000 points of disciples. I also have to do my Blood Bowl team. But I'll look into it. My local GW is running a Legion of Legends I am in, and are planning an AOS tournament.
Hey if you're ever in York!
-
Awesome, I am definitely intrigued with this undead ogor. I will commit to fluff when the warchanter is finished, and include my most recent battle.
-
Man you're going to force me to get on with my fluff aren't you? Good show!

Those would all look awesome, I think the board is integral to really making it work and those are ace ideas.

Wow, man. Thanks for these pictures. These guys are seriously talented.
Indeed! Can't wait for the mini armies on parade the store is doing to round off the legion of legends they're running. Expect a board for my ironjawz! The results from this were the skaven first, then the space hulk, then the stormcast.

Thats going to be a horribly effective list. Look forward to seeing how it comes out, the frost leeching effect sounds great.
-
I used to be far enough that I didn't bother even, but since moving up here and being in walking distance it's really changed my hobby up. Though them being my friends make me feel bad buying from darksphere.
-
Yeah, the whole competition really made the community happy and come together, a whole load of us were sat in painting and watching everoyne unwrap theirs. York GW is awesome.
Oh you bloomin' genius!!!!
STONE!
I'm going to make the staff stone with gold and green gems/jade inlay. That ties the model to the base which is stone steps!Thank you very much for the compliments too.
-
Too kind guys. Boar Boyz will be up with new fluff this week!
-
Sneaky ratman tactics, more models in close proximity!
-
Looking great :0 I agree with rex though, give the green another highlight to make it pop I would say Looking forward to more.
-
Yeah it's where the plastic meets. It is a shame, the way they broke the model up for the sprue means there is a line running all the way along his shoulders, and cloth is the most noticeable surface for such a line. No matter how flush you make it, it's there. At least yeah, it's on black cloth and the method of painting it was simple. When I order some brutes I will get some liquid greenstuff too.
-
What gap sorry? Do you mean where the red doesn't seem to continue to the edge of the cloth or the literal gap in the plastic?
-
I agree, list making was always a bit of a challenge for me, except for when I started using digital list builders, they were fantastic. Keep it up anyway, this is definitely the right place should you need list advice
-
Thanks a lot! Yeah, he is the forgeworld banner bearer. I bought the pack a few years ago, and tried my hand at the boss but only got his weapon and head completed. Since I've become a more competent painter, and got myself nice new shiny paints instead of a decade old bunch, he awaits stripping. I will probably give him a go after my next planned projects, which are a weirdnob shaman, and a box of brutes. I totally advise buying them though, the details are incredible, really slows down painting time though!
Glad I'm on the right track with the green too

I was thinking of Castle Grayskull from He-Man
mine will also use lots of bones. I figure my clan Megaboss came up in the Ogre Fighting pits, and learned to devour his foes from them and the Boyz follow
Now that is a very cool idea. I look forward to moving on with fluff anyway and getting something to show here, even if I am slower in painting than most.

Dem Grayskull Boyz!
I may go for Deff Clawz. Thought Deff Skullz but thats a 40k clan i remember... I like the idea of using the bones of the beast as the clans name though, so maybe Bloody Skull Gitz? I guess I can always name the smaller factions other names. Deft Claws fits with my love of the brute claw.
So somehow...

Thanks Yeah can't not give them warpaint, they'd be even more dull without it! They're not the most thrilling models by any shot though.
Fair enough, it is a relatively light scheme. I think the thing the lightbox manages is it actually seems to have lightened the darker areas. Check my earlier warchanter especially to see what the bones are like. It may be wiser to make them darker on the savages, but I was bashing them out to the deadline, and also it's matching my non-savages.
