  1. Hi,

i haven’t played AoS in a long time, but it would be nice to play again!.

other Location, but eastern part : https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=495367891404562&ref=content_filter

It has enough space to accommodate at least 6 big  Tables. Before  lock down we played there two times (But my new favourite game Bushido!)

On the other hand I recently moved and have now a room to play at home (busstation Osterkamp - eastern part), I would be happy to host some games (I have a table and lots of terrain).

@Naem we still have a WhatsApp Group, we could try to reanimate the chat 😉

  2. OBR also got the box set, I guess many people started with that, should always increase the initial player base.

Teclis: He is a god, creator of whole races, one of the most powerful wizards ever known... I don’t get this feeling from this model.

I would preferred him as a smaller Model (not Nagash size), so you underestimate him and give him magical elements to show this part of his power. And definitely without a pet, I really don’t get the link to this spirit of hysh.
I like the model of the spirit, but actually dislike the  connection to Teclis. The focus is on the pet and not Teclis.

the riders and spear men are quite nice, like the clean approach!

That's not really an accurate depiction though is it?

In casual play you tailor to your opponent, and in my experience from my own life and as a red shirt. Casual play is about the race in experience and translating that experience into choosing the right units to buy in the model arms race. So I would say in casual gaming the opponent that learns the fastest usually quickly dominates in their group. So much so that can end up with completely mediocre factions dominating inside play groups. Groups usually die when the players stop learning how to play the game and try to learn how to beat that guy. Which is obviously doomed to failure.

This view and description  of casual player is really based on GW shops,  almost all casual players I know will never enter a GW, because of this type of player (lots of new grey plastic and many are just talking about strength and not how beautiful the models are).

Many Casual players buy models based on aesthetic, not strength and want to field a variety of units. If they always loose based on bad Play experience  (the KoS is not fun to play against!) and not because the game was tight, they will quit and play sth else. It is not always tactics, it is often different strength of armies. Sure you can buy a stronger one or Spam 1-2 strong units, but for many players this is not the way to go.

If you are saying the game is healthy and the strong armies are on spot and everybody just has to adapt, you are losing a lot of players, don’t know if this is worth it. Tournament play is maybe fine, but this is really just a small part of the overall community. Perhaps sometimes it is good to listen to more casual players, otherwise people with access to a variety of tabletops will leave (difficult to happen, if you just play in a GW Shop 😉 ).

I'm sure that GW isn't going to sell a game without the need to buy new miniatures...  Based on that premise I'm sure the armies we'll see are the armies they're thinking to sell well.

Chaos, Empire, Vampiresa, Dwarfs and/or Orcs. I don't think we'll see rules for other armies at the launch.

    you forgot the elves!

Classics elves are missing in AoS and with almost everything discontinued from the high elves range, I guess they will sell well and had a huge fan base.

Thats great, hopefully its just a novelty game that people collect but never really play, like the Silver Tower and other things GW have released.

perhaps you should think about the people who love the old game and be happy for them instead of thinking just about yourself. Reads a little too selfish.

I hope for a more easy and accessible R&F Game, I mostly played 6th Edition (stopped during university) and started AoS in the early days due to the simple rule set.
With complex rules like 8th Edition I wouldn’t be back playing tabletop, which would be ashame. But I really prefer the old world setting and looking forward the (new) old world.

  7. I guess not many people will buy the hedonites collectors edition Battletome, because it seems many Slaanesh Fans feel the same about the incompleteness 🙄

Everybody can argue, that we have StD and a Book is better then nothing. But I think, if a lot of the current Slaanesh players feel the same, it holds some truth.

And if you want to start a new hedonites army and you don’t like the daemonettes you are screwed due to the lack of troops. This will not increase sales and then it could look like it is not worth updating Slaanesh in the future, this is what I'm a little bit afraid of...

  8. Really a shame... I thought after all the years they make a full release, without Mortals it is really not a full Chaos army as the other god armies.

I mean, I love the new models (KoS and Daemon Prince are awesome), but they should have just waited with this release to combine this with the Tyrion/Teclis/Malerion Story. I waited some years for new models, I could have waited longer to include a full release! Now I don’t even know, if I really buy anything, I really don’t feel any hype right now

PS: The only model I don’t like is the terrain feature, the face of the Keeper makes it look weird

don't need Chaos Stormcasts.  Chaos Warriors, Blood warriors, Blight kings are that already.

    also don't need Death  Stormcasts.

I corrected it for you, even while I agree with you!

But everybody can have different opinions, so always speak for yoursel😉

It was only available in a beastmen armybox that came out with the 6th edition book, which included a pretty lackluster selection of models (I know for sure there were chaos ogres in it).

    Beastlord with big chopper

    BSB

    Shaman

    Ungors

    Gors

    Centigors

    Chaostrolls

    Chaosogers

Still remember, when I opened the box - good times ?

So I've been fiddling with my list for fun; I personally think there are too few bodies and I'll get smashed off the table... Thoughts?

    Daemon Princess of Slaanesh
    The Masque
    Keeper of Secrets
    2x10 Daemonettes
    5 Hellstriders of Slaanesh
    3 Fiends
    Chronomantic Cogs

    1000pts

I often play around 1000-1250 and usually have two good Units - the Keeper and 30 daemonettes. Many people underestimate the sheer mass of attacks from the daemonettes. The Hellstriders are needed, but not for killing things.

so I would increase the daemonettes, kick out the Fiends and take one Herald for the remaining points (can stay behind and summon sth, if the others are dead).

Personally I would switch the Daemon Prince for one Herold on exalted Seeker Chariot, because people are always afraid of the MWs and it is such a cool model!

Was great meeting you @Tzeentchmike and was great chatting all things Slaanesh, your army is beautiful!

Chariot list was great fun to play all weekend, finished with 2 Major Wins (Both against new Stormcast), 1 Minor Win,  and 2 Major Losses. Could've got a Major Win in my last game which would've had me finishing about 17th but I failed a 9" re-rolling charge on my Daemonettes and couldn't get the objective. Annoying as I'd made my 9" charge with all my units basically every game I summoned! But hey these things happened. Meant I finished 44th out of 88.

Off to the Howling in two weeks time with the same list, this time though we're not limited to what we can summon so should be able to bring back the Keeper of Secrets if needed. I have considered getting and painting an Exalted for the weekend to summon but not sure I've got the time/money to build and paint one in a fortnight.

Archaon and Varanguard were fun to use too, cannot wait to see what bonuses/buffs Archaon can get when we finally get a new book out.

Have been looking at more stupid lists for Slaanesh. If I dropped one seeker chariot, Varangaurd and Archaon I could run this....

    Allegiance: Slaanesh

    Leaders
Exalted Greater Daemon of Slaanesh (440)
    - Dimensional Blade
    Keeper Of Secrets (260)
    Keeper Of Secrets (260)
    Keeper Of Secrets (260)
Herald Of Slaanesh on Exalted Seeker Chariot (160)
    - General
Herald Of Slaanesh on Seeker Chariot (100)

    Battleline
    1 x Seeker Chariots Of Slaanesh (80)
    1 x Seeker Chariots Of Slaanesh (80)
    1 x Seeker Chariots Of Slaanesh (80)
    1 x Seeker Chariots Of Slaanesh (80)

    Units
1 x Exalted Seeker Chariots Of Slaanesh (140)

    Endless Spells
    Chronomantic Cogs (60)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 92

    So many keepers ?

please try it out for us ?

but you should leave a unit for 1-2 spare CPs, so you have more opportunities to double attack.

They will be t1 based on the twitch stream. Everyone moving 14”+run +charge.

    Power creep continues

The movement was always there... No changes to pre Battletome, if they no get some punch besides movements, they can become good!

  14. I was so hopeful about a change to the Beastlord, but they did the wrong thing ... weakend the ability and the limitation to slay a model stays the same, so like always he will die and not using the ability ?

I really like the goats, but why is it so hard for GW to make good rules for them (the rules were always bad for the goats)?

I don’t want to rely on artifacts/Traits, I just want good Warscroll. Just some proper Damage for the Beastlord or at least a easy to use command ability...

edit: sorry for the negativity, but the current state of the herd made me really frustrated and I have the feeling, that GW will not make enough changes to warscrolls (too squishy, too little Rend, no mortal wounds) to boost the army.

True, but rereading the page, it seems like the guy got his info wrong. It's for each wound that hurts the hero but does not slay them. If you did 15 wounds to my keeper of secrets, 9 of them did not kill my keeper, it should stand to reason, I should still get 9 points.

I think this is the way to go and I think it’s written clearly on the slaanesh summoning page in the GH18

If the combat changes to 40k style, I might have to start looking for a new game to play with my models. It is very non-interactive compared to what we have now :( It's also the main reason why my interest in the new 40k died after the first game on the release day.

I don’t understand the negativity against the 40k combat phase, is there something besides  charging units strike first? It really prefer this, then charges matter and it makes sense to charge with more than one unit. In the second fighting phase we have the alternation as usual.

Do you guys think the Daemonettes will be re-done?

They are one of the few units that are not "dated" (i.e. not that old, plastic, good detail, good anatomy, technically sound,  etc.), but are stylistically not always the most popular.

There's a reason why Diazettes were one of the first Made to Order releases.

After painting 40 of newer daemonettes I prefer them over the old ones. The old ones are „just“ naked women with claws. The newer Daemons are less human and more daemonic.

i hope they will not move backwards, we have now enough naked women (looking at you DoK!)

  18. Perhaps you could get a sponsorstore?

in Germany there is a large tabletopforum, which is paid by a onlinestore - each registered member gets 2% extra discount, a good incentive to order in that particular store. There is one store banner at the top of the site and one link on side, where you get your discount.

    On the premiummembership:

I don’t like extra forumareas for premium members, i would vote for just a supporter status with a small hint on the usersite, without any great benefits (or with a yearly raffle or sth) - many people will support this, because it is a great online community! No need for big incentives, this divides the community.

It's launching alongside Stormcast/Bloodbound themed card sleeves, which are £5 / $8 USD.

    Pre-order 14th for release on the 21st.

    Here we go ?

Brayherd buffs look good. I really hope that the anti-cover debuff aura counters Staunch Defender too! Gors look appropriately cheap too.

Pointwise it seems good, but soooo many Modells to move (~100 Modells per 1k Points if pure Brayherd) ?

but the ambush rule is odd, just first turn, 6" in one edge (easy to deny with the 9" distance from enemy units), no movement afterwords - i would have preferred 9" distance and ambush from all sides not edges.
