  1. I have the feeling Limited Releases are more a problem from Lore perspective than for the model releases. Looking at stuff like Carrion Empire or Looncurse, where the boxes Booklets were the main rescources of Lore for the Kingdom Metallurgica or the continent Ayadah. While the new models (Abhorrant Archregent, Warlock Bombardier, Arch-Revenant) had their Solorelease later you have no chance to get your hands on the lore later because the lore isn't printed anywhere else in that detail. It is now the same problem with Cursed City. While the models most likely will come back (like we see with Raducar and his court), the lore of the books is lost if you weren't able to get your hands on the box. Looking at Cursed City it is weird as well, that their is a section "Stories from the Cursed City" with the heroes of the Cursed City Box in todays White Dwarf. I mean, it would have made more sense if the game would be still available.
  2. The thematic clash between two great heroes, without other soldiers interfering is epic, but the way challendes work was one of the reason in the end that killed 9th age for me. It ended up in the buffling situation that heroes don't make challenges because most of the time it is accepted by the champion of the other unit. Or in worst case a 1 wound champion is tanking the entire damage of great heroes like Archaon because the way it was implemented the model that is being challenged can only do damage to the challenger or not attack at all (and this was treated as a great form of balancing while looking from the narrative standpoint it feels more like cheating).
  3. Huh, so that happened to most Members of the Legion of Sacrament. Haven't read the lore of the Null Myriad yet. I don't know if I read it in one of the threads here or if it was on twitter, but aren't their still Black Disciples who are part of the Legion of Night now? Is that also what happened to the Members of Nagashs Grandhost?
  4. Just hope 3rd Edition clears up a lot of rules so the FAQ will become thinner. And yeah, their are some weird cases. Kritza for example: Skarr Bloodwrath has a similar rule with "The Slaughterborn", but their it is the same model that that heals all wounds not a new one. Maybe a ruling to remove buffs as well (we have to look for 3rd Edition in this case as well) In case of this question. At the moment no because the rule doesn't state that the unit can pile in while in 6" See Icefall Yhetees Ability for example @Egalogalis has given the answer to this that it is possible, but the "subtitle" ruling is actually a weird one from beginn with, because it is basicly the same effect as using the Keyword (exept that the keyword allows Named Characters or units with another name but the same Keyword as well). Why is this even a question. For the Spell only the Wound Characteristic counts, not the amount of models so it is 1 dice for Wound Characteristic 1 or 2 models even if their are 40 of them. After the rule doesn't state that it inflicts mortal wounds it doesn't do any damage, only heals. The rule would have to state the following to do damage Vile Transference and Sanguine Blur looks like the questions are purely based on assumptions not what the rules state.
  5. So you would say, people won't check the Core-Rule FAQ already and need a second answer somewhere? It is on page 3 of the Core Rules FAQ. Edit: Also for another question in post 1 The person who asked this question has never heard of Squig Hoppers, Flamespyre Phoenix or Hexwraiths (it is practice for years, not invented with the Bloodknights). They all have pass over abilities dealing + pass over abilities are only possible if the model is able to fly because it is the only way a model can make a normal move through the 3" bubble of an enemy unit or have the base overlapped during the movement (because of ignoring the units during the movement. So yes it will make mortal wounds. The Squig Hoppers example + The FAQ for pass Accross and walking through units (also part of the Core-Rule FAQ, this time page 4 In case of some questions the given FAQ is basicly not used for reference. Here we most likely have to wait for third edition, so normal moves and retreat moves could be completly seperated than. They had the 1" in the old warscroll as well. It is most likely that they use the lances to ram into the unit during the charge triggering the ability and than switch to the blades.
  6. In that case, their is already an FAQ for such a case
  7. Hi, The Corerule FAQ on Wahrammer Community has an answer to this: When refered to "this unit" it is everytime the unit that has the rule. In your case the Slaangor Fiendbroods. So you role a dice for each Slaangor Fiendbroods Model in your unit.
  8. Legions of Nagash is actually a strange one in case of Keywords. None of the Warscrolls had a "Legions of Nagash" Keyword instead they were getting it with the Allegiance Abilities. In case of "Legion of Blood" and "Legion of Night" it should be clear that the new book replaces those two Allegiances. The weird thing are "Legion of Sacrament" and the "Grand Host of Nagash" who are basicly gone, if Soulblight Gravelords replaces Legions of Nagash.
  9. The thing is scalpers and investors are basicly both parazides. The first are feeding from the community and that money is missing to buy more GW stuff. The second only care how much money they can squeeze out of GW, not really caring about the product or that they most likely destroy GW in the long run as long as they get their money. In the end it is the community that has kept the company alive all the years and everytime something like Cursed City happens you hurt the community with it and with that get bad publicity. They should really listen to the hand that feeds them instead of the parazides they are feeding.
  10. If we wouldn't have the Corona and Lockdown Situation, than I would most likely have been at my local GW store on Preorder day. Since this wasn't possible I hoped to get a german box with the store contingent. Time passed because the store was still closed because of lockdown, and when I heard of "Click & Collect" a asked about a box and got the answer that the store won't get any boxes most likely. I basicly try to get my hand on anything lore releated I can to maintain my wiki (after all other authors aren't doing much), so not getting the box is a quite hard blow for me. The thing why I don't order online is (paying online is the best way getting your money stolen by hackers, what can't happen if I pay cash, and I don't trust the Mail (their I some quite incompetent people working their not capable to read the name or adress correctly so I don't want to have any orders send by them where I have to prove that I don't get my Order) Normally such boxed games had support for about 24-36 Month, where the coregame had to be available.
  11. From the leaks their are some quite strange concept looking at the 5 Dynastys. Mannfred who has focus on Necromancers gets Vargheist as Battleline Neferata who uses vampires gets Black Knights instead of Blood Knights Kastellai most likely makes sense as a vampiric order. Vyrkos didn't even get the Vyrkos Bloodborn as a real vampire unit. Avengorii would have been the army where Vargheist as Battleline would have made most sense (looking at the picture below) but getting Terror Gheist and Zombie Dragons for some reason
  12. In case of the Vyrkos Bloodborn I'm actually wondering why GW wasn't able to create a 5 or 10 model box for them making including them as a regular unit to the game and make them Battleline in a Vyrkos Army. We have so many Vyrkos Heroes but no real troup choices to really create a Vyrkos Army
  13. The problem I see with the 40k Look Out Sir, is that it is quite cumbersome and GW needed two editions + FAQs to get it to its actual state (and still it is not free of holes). Here an example: The case above is how it was most likely intended (the way it was wrote in the FAQ). But the character (orange) would also be immun in the case below, because the hero is in range of red and purple is closer to the green unit. In worst case with the 40k rules red and purple could be behind walls or inside a would and the hero would be immun to shooting as long as the hero is in 3" of red and purple is closer (because it is only stated that the hero has to be visible and the closest unit. From a lore perspective it would really make more sense if shooting trough another unit is punished instead of a single character standing in the open, dancing and screaming: "You can't shoot me because there is a unit closer you can't see". A ruling like the wildwood would make more sense: That way, with the example above, the in the first example the hero (or other type of unit would be blocked) but not in the second case. It would allow to activly screen a unit.
  14. I would most likely see that the Named Charakters have the Keyword of their Dynasty and can't get another one and wouldn't get the buffs of Kastelai. In the lore it was more likely that Mannfred would have played with Flesh-Eater Courts. An addition of Living troups would have been the thing of Neferata.
  15. It would basicly be possible but the points for the Blessed Sons Battalion should be outdated (the FAQ was from December 2019, while their was a Update with the Generals Handbook 2020 (which doesn't include Points for the two named Faction Battalions anymore (so you would need your opponents agreement to use it in Matched Play) especially after GW was going away from Named Superbattalions (only making the once for the generic faction) and instead made subfactions for the Allegiance (with a Subfaction for Blessed Sons being in Archaons Wrath).
  16. The Rules of Legions of Nagash had 4 gravesites. So if their are only 3 in the Tokenset it is possible that Gravesites are reduced from 4 to 3 (if their isn't a 4th one hidden behind the card).
  17. They will be in the battletome. Otherwise we wouldn't even know that the models are existing (we had no idea what models would come with the second wave of Lumineth Models, when first wave was released). Okay, the worst thing that could happen is what happened with Space Marines, where all units were in the Codex, but it took multiple month until the physical Models were released.
  18. It could simply be a 2 week release so the rest will be released on May 29th.
  19. Yes, it would be a 15 and the opponent would need a value of 16.
  20. You Guys would really like that a Battletome would be completly Invalid after 3-5 Month? This would basicly be the case with Lumineth or maybe even Gravelords if next Edition would be Strength vs. Toughness. Plus additions like Anvil of Apotheosis would be impossible because you can't price S/T the same way you can price +1 to Wound right now. Such a change could be the death of the entire system.
  21. Und der nächste Meilenstein ist erreicht, wieder 100 Artikel mehr und 2400 Artikel sind dadurch erreicht. --- And the next milestone has been reached, 100 more articles and 2400 articles have been reached.
  22. The Summoning is not for free. Most have an alternatiting currency. It's only that some factions summoning is easier than others. The only free summoning was in 1.0 when Wizards had cast a spell to summon units. Well they have to look how to field the new Model into the lore, so they write the lore first and than the model with the rules. Well, Battalions are basicly a way for GW to show how an army (or a part of it) should look like. Some represent this better others do not. This is the reason why they lock you on what kind of units you can field. Their is also the rumor that Battalions like we know them will be open and narrative only, and their will be generic Matched Play Battalions, with all armies having Access to them. Do you think they will give you all rules for free. It's more likely that people are forced to make a subscription if you want to play, so you rent the rules instead of owning them (or that you still have to buy the book to get a code to unlock the rules). In the end I'm buying the books mostly for the lore.
  23. The new unit is "identical" to the one destroyed. It has the same size, the same equipment and most likely the same keywords (otherwise the unit wouldn't be identical to the old one).
  24. One type for combat and one mage form. Most likely with 4 Generals. The Ambossrules were used in Battlereports this year, but they used the standardmodels. Most of the conversions were shown in the Anvil Rules in the Generals Handbook. I don't know the source, but it is possible that the model shown in White Dwarf could be a new one. In another community this sentince was posted. Also able to build in a generic version looks like a new model.
  25. The White Dwarf is normally released on the third Friday of the month. We had January 15th, February 19th, March 19th and April 16th. After May 1st is a Saturday, this would mean that the third Friday is May 21st It doesn't have to be a new model. After many of the new White Dwarf included "Anvil of Apotheosis" Rules, it is possible that this model is simply a conversion + including the warscroll into the White Dwarf. My opinion to the rumours of the Battalions. My guess is that GW wants to create plain ground for Matched Play (after Battalions are quite uneven right now). The Battalions we have at the moment are basicly some sort of Represenation how the army or parts of the army would look like. At the moment GW has the problem that every Generals Handbook will invalidate Battalions if they aren't mentioned with point values or mentioned in an FAQ if they are still valid. (looking at White Dwarf Battalions, Campaign Books/Boxes). If Battalions besides generic ones are only usable in Open/Narrative play they basicly never will be outdated. And maybe we wound't need as many rules how Battalions should work (like the desaster we had with the FAQs about Battalions an the Allegiance). With the intention to even the Battalions for all factions it would be a little counter productive if some subfactions would get additonal rules for the generic Battalion. The only faction, that would have a real problem with such a change would be Beasts of Chaos, because their Battalions are a Ticket to get the models into the God armies.
