  1. This is what my Warband currently looks like; 1 Ishlean Prince 1 Ishlean Guard 1 Tidecaster Merc 3 Thralls 3 Reavers I’m a few games into the campaign so soon I’ll be able to add another thrall. I’ve also played with the Soulscryer and his triple is amazing if you roll well...
  2. I haven’t actually played the Skaven warband yet, in this case cutting the packmaster would only mean another clanrat and looking at campaign play I would like to upgrade to another rat ogre in time
  3. Converted my Rat Ogre over the weekend to have a warpfire thrower (but from the Thanquol kit). Did a slight update to his paintjob as well since I painted this guy about 7-8 years ago... current list Fangleader - 170 Packmaster - 65 Rat Ogor - 235 (2) Stormvermin Shield - 115 (230) (2) Spear Clanrat - 75 (150) (2) Hand-Weapon Clanrat - 75 (150)
  4. While this is a tactics discussion mostly, this is probably still the best place to ask. Is it in any way possible to magnetize the arms/weapons of the Ahkelian guard?
  5. Mostly because of the improvements to the Chaos Grand Alliance. Our biggest weakness in GBH 2017 was our susceptibility to Battleshock, which in AoS 2.0 can be circumvented largely with the Crown of Conquest (no battleshock for anything within 6"). The general improvements to Grand Alliance Chaos also have some other benefits. In short, the improvement the traits and, in my opion, that singular artefact are the most important improvements. The fact that other characters can use command abilities makes it more viable to run multiple characters, who have also been made a bit more resilient with the 'look out sir' benefit.
  6. Thing is, going 'general Skaven' opens the doors to pick and choose among the other clans as well. And my 1k Skryre list also includes 40 clanrats to ensure I have some bodies on the field.
  7. In that case you can also include a Packmaster for 60 points. Does about the same thing imo.
  8. Yeah pretty much, the traits and artefacts are too lacklustre and sparks are now not worth it, I'd much rather have GA: Chaos and get access to Warlords, Packmasters and what not...
  9. Well Skryre Allegiance just got a whole lot weaker with the new FAQ: Page 130 – Warpstone Sparks Change the third bullet point to: ‘Add 1 to the damage inflicted by 1 successful attack made by a friendly Skryre model with a missile weapon or melee weapon.’ We can also not use Chaos Allegiance: Page 62 – Pitched Battle Profile, Introduction Add the following section: ‘ARMIES WITHOUT ALLEGIANCE ABILITIES If a faction army does not have a set of allegiance abilities, then you can use its Grand Alliance allegiance abilities instead. For example, if you had an Eshin army you could use the Grand Alliance Chaos allegiance abilities, and if you had an Order Draconis army you could use the Grand Alliance Order allegiance abilities. Note that if allegiance abilities exist for a faction army, you must use them.’
  10. @Skreech Verminking cool, in that case I'm just gonna post my currently planned list for friendly Vanguard games in our gaming group of about six people. Allegiance: ChaosMortal Realm: ShyishLeadersSkaven Warlord (100)- General- Warpforged Blade- Trait: Cunning Deceiver- Artefact: Crown of ConquestGrey Seer (100)Battleline20 x Clanrats (120)- Rusty Spear20 x Clanrats (120)- Rusty SpearUnits3 x Stormfiends (290)1 x Poisoned Wind Mortar Weapon Team (60)War MachinesWarp Lightning Cannon (180)Endless SpellsSuffocating Gravetide (30)Total: 1000 / 1000Wounds: 77
  11. Is this also the 'Mixed Skaven' discussion thread?
  12. I'd still try to slot in a Warlord, his command ability is an amazing amplifier for your Clanrats.
  13. So what's the consensus about the Leviadon? (I don't play tournaments)
  14. So what's the consensus about the Leviadon? (I don't play tournaments) Damn, wrong thread. How do I remove a post?
  15. With the change to Warpfire sparks, Ratling Cannons suddenly have some appeal to me (their performance has been a bit lackluster in my first edition games), they also have a decent range. Now one thing you might want to consider is that the Stormfiend kit is kinda limited in what you can actually do in regards to WYSIWYG, and I'd recommend magnetizing the weapons as well. You could make a 'melee unit with 2 Shock Gauntlets fiends (the synergize really well with Vigordust) and a Warpgrinder. The other unit would be a 'range unit' with a Ratling Cannon and 2 mortars or 2 projectors (projectors might be better due to offering MW output since you have plenty of poison gas already). Also, you can only take 1 Vigordust Injector in your army. I'd also consider taking a Packmaster since it's a good power boost to a unit of Stormfiends. (Keeping it close also protects you against losing a fiend with an unlucky battle shock roll)
