I think you might not just like skaven. Skaven without chaos and clans is just ratmen. Destruction just doesn't have a real personality, adding factions with personality to it that are just slightly outside of the 40k mold doesn't make it better 🙂

that is a contentious opinion. BoC and Skaven don't have a non WFB identity because games workshop went along and made armies for all of the "main" chaos gods first. Skaven have also been chaos almost 6 times as long as age of sigmar has been a thing, so I don't know where people get the idea that they aren't chaos comes from.

While true there's still disappointment that you have a warband or whatever instead of resculpts for units you have wanted for years or decades in some cases and it seems gw is perfectly happy to release a warband for most factions and then consider that a fine state to be in for years to come. They have their own teams and plastic budgets (maybe) but it certainly seems like they are connected- it's not something like necromunda where it's nearly completely separated from the main game.

People on this site make no sense sometimes. Like I see a lot of posters saying x y z belong in destruction like giving them an existing personality with a strong identity would fix destructions amorphous identity.

Generally factions with new models or a book are going to have more people painting them even if just a one off to try it out or something. I'd say that skaven being second place surprises me but I suspect if you look at the posts you'd find much less models than uh.... Character art to be generous.

Absolutely was- at minimum to an extent, the enemy within (a large, highly rated, WHFRP adventure made extremely early on in its lifespan) started out as a "bloodless cthulu adventure" (blood was returned to the adventure.)

Hey don't lose hope yet, warcry has generally stayed away from boring warbands. We could get the cthulu cultist elves vs ninja rats still.
