  1. Beasts of chaos are what you might call a finesse army. As alluded to above you won't win in a straight grind vs another opponent. Boardwide low bravery, armour saves and an average to hit of 4+, no magic support, few reroll 'something' buffs arnt going to win most match ups in a straight fight. We do however play the missions / scenarios very well. Access to plentiful cheap really fast chaff/scoring units, slow heavy hitters (warherd units), balanced summoning, some dirty tzeentch units, big distraction monsters, one of the best endless spells (which allows you to gang up with you "weak" units first) And again like above, if pure beasts doesn't gel with you, you can run them as any of the 4 chaos gods (battalion dependant) so it's more like 5 armies in one.
  2. I've only used the slannesh one, as it's one of the cheaper battalions. The bonus is situational but did have its uses. Just getting the reroll charges without hero support just for being within 12 of a enemy artifact has helped. But yes as a whole one of the weaker god battalions due to its only affecting hero's with artifacts.
  3. Yeah, smarter players then me can dissect and discuss this ruling. But yes, I would gladly throw a unit away to stop the terror bats just killing stuff every turn. Ungor raiders were my go too solution aswell. Large units deep in enemy territory firing all the arrows making it easy to suicide a squad into him and finish the job.
  4. I'm like 90-95% with swamp heart on the bull timing/activation etc etc. Bbbbbut, because the taurus is the latest effect doesn't that cancel out the gristle gore command trait. Meaning he can activate as per the taurus wording? As its the newest 'timing' rule for when he activates. Even if he can't, he still will after you kill him.
  5. Yeah was wondering about our beloved flaming bull and its interaction with murder bats I had great fun and success with it this past weekend at slaughter. Also the horn could help aswell, providing a nice debuff providing the bat attacks in its aura. Helped me vs a double LoB dragon list. Ungor raiders look even more useful to try and knock them down a couple of pegs or even screening your lines from first turn bat rushes. I think we should be OK vs FEC. Hard matchups but not impossible.
  6. Erghhh it's literally 90‰ of the brayherd stuff I own. But yes the trick is to just outnumber on obj, early game (scenario dependant) and just avoid combats. Spot on with palisades, just to protect stuff from shooting. I don't own anymore bestigor I'm up agasint a legion of blood list tomorrow with double dragons (vhordrai and an ethereal buddy <whelp>) It's more a test / me trying my older aos1 army in aos2
  7. Haha, you should see what I'm trying out tomorrow club evening if you think that's alot of models... Allthegoats, andtherefriendsandrelatives.pdf
  8. Hello fellow true chaos believers, So far I am really enjoying running the herd this edition, sadly moved away from pure brayherd like I used to run in AOS1 and now using grand alliance chaos for me with brayherd and warherd mixed. Like others above I was a little saddened with the changes to the GBS spell and scenary rules for the herdstone but mostly the sheer balls to wall approach of the herdstone axe beastlord ambush surprise. However it hasn't been all doom and gloom for all the games I've played in Aos2, granted I've been smashed off a table by top of turn 2 by a dreadwood but that was a "learning game". (also the saltiest I've ever got playing) I've held my own vs a very strong nurgle drone list this Sunday doing some tournament prep due cheap fast screens and an abundance of warm goat bodies everywhere. Overall I'm pleased with how both herd armies work this edition and developing a new love/hate relationship with my anraheirs claw doombull.
