  1. Just had a discussion with gaming group, is it clear that summoned units can use the grand court rules? They argue that the grand court rules are added after building the army but before you summon units. I think they should because it says in the summon unit text that they are added to the army, but there is some disagreement.
  2. I think they might just be trolling everyone who was calling for those two rules to be nerfed. I mean, my gaming group is already considering banning Gristlegore in tournaments we host. Apparently attacking twice with two GKoT’s before anyone else is just going too far. Our local Nagash players have already gone out and cleaned out all of the Start Collecting boxes from the FLGS. Lol.
  3. I did hear an example of someone running the "Mooclan" list (huge squads of grots shielding two or more thundertusk) where they selected the champion of the 60 man grot unit as the general so that they always had immune to battleshock. That might be an example of abuse, but maybe specify that a general has to have more than three wounds? Just a thought.
  4. My ironjawz are starting to come together. I'm enjoying adding all sorts of teef marks for their armor, and I like the yellow shoulder pads for the brutes. Need to highlight and add metallic scrapes along the edges.
  5. They both look great, I just think the shaman looks surprised. Maybe foot went off for once?
  6. Agreed, except in my case that nagging voice won out in my head. My Thunderfist box arrives in the mail today and I've already built and primed the getting started box I bought last Tuesday. Keep being an inspiration!
  7. I agree on the 5+ to hit, this is the traditional orky marksmanship. I would think they'd be using a repeater crossbow, more dakka and all that, but I'm not sure where they'd get the tech. I did this for a maneater with pistols conversion. I imagine Orc repeater crossbow tech would look something like this. Maybe they get more shots the closer they are to the target?
  8. Ha, well I bought the army as a lot and it came with a bunch of resin bodies. Ogres come with an abundance of extra arms and heads. I'm pretty sure I still have at least 75 ogre heads left in my bits box. I suspect the bodies were contraband from the orient.
  9. Was going to post yesterday, but I fell asleep. Finished my last three zombie ogres for my flesh eater court/Mannfred army.
  10. My army for the 1k event on Saturday. It's not Wednesday anymore, but I'm super excited. Not getting to use all the models I wanted to, but when I finished the king on the gheist, I knew he had to be a part of the list. Betting heavy to win heavy I suppose.
  11. So today I cobbled together a display board to fit the basing for my AOS armies. Also I finished most of the work on my first three crypt horror conversions. They are going to represent the unfortunate tribe of ogres Mannfred tricked into following him in the audiodrama series.
  12. Finished these while marathoning Stranger Things. Terrorgheist will be my next project.
  13. I finished basing these ghouls and one of my ghasts yesterday. Working towards having 1k fully painted and on round bases for an event on Sept 3rd.
  14. It's technically Wednesday, so here's where I am with my Mannfred Von Carstein, Mortarch of Night model. My regular opponent plays Stormcast, so I've had to break out my Death models to keep things interesting. I have a mostly painted flesh eater army, but I felt that Mannfred would take advantage of the court's delusions and reverence for the trappings of nobility.
  15. Not as much time to work on this today as I thought I'd have, but finally working on the Mannfred Von Carstein that I've had since the end times dropped. Going for the fiery skulls inside of Ashigaroth.
  16. I finished a Wildwood in preparation for the new Sylvaneth forces. I don't have any old Sylvaneth to display with them so my Stormcast will have to do.
  17. Finished these this week. 6 models left before Saturday event.
  18. So we're getting to crunch time. I got a pair of practice games in at my club last Thursday, Stormcast vs Stormcast. My takeaways from this was that positioning is super important and mortal wounds are the primary way to take down Stormcast. Having no real way to negate that, I suppose killing their mortal wound units is the only option. Best defense is a good offense and so on and so on. Lost game one when I didn't kill my opponent's Celestant with his whippy cloak, won game two when I used my whippy cloak and Relictor to kill his Celestant before he got to combat. I also used my prosecutors to tie down His Knight Azyros to avoid the mortal wound bomb.Hopefully I can remember this on Saturday. As for progress, I had a marathon session Friday and got the base armor color on all the remaining models, finished my first five Liberators and got basing material on the last five judicators. I followed that up by doing five more liberators today. Here's the finished models. So here's the total of what I've got left to paint before Saturday, minus the Liberators. Today's Goal: I feel I've hit a stride with these. Now that the colors are chosen and the methods of achieving them are understood, progress is moving forward at an excellent clip. I could see having my entire collection done in two weeks. Granted, All I have left after these is a Celestant on Dracoth, a Heraldor, three Retributors and three Prosecutors. I will attempt to take pictures of my games to do a full battle report. Stay tuned for more.
  19. First actual complete age of Sigmar unit. It really does take an event to get me motivated to finish things. Still needs highlights, but this will be good enough until the remaining force is painted to this standard.
  20. These guys are my finished models for the week. Though, I have been working on them for longer than a week. I've got Three prosecutors and four liberators on the table for tonight. Let's see what I can get done before next Wednesday.
  21. So not a lot of time to type this week. I've been slowly adding elements to rank and file, but then halfway through today I found myself unable to put down the Lord Castellant. He and his Gryph-hound are up to tabletop standard. I also bought myself a Winsor and Newton Series 7 #1 brush. God, what a difference. I started using that and a Royal Langnickel at the same time and the Langnickel is just about shot. The winsor looks new. To be fair, I am treating it with utmost care. Alright, I'll go more in depth next week, but here are some shiny new pictures of the 5 models that are ready to rock out of the 33 I'm looking to get finished by June 18th. I have my work cut out for me, but I'm pleased with all the elements of the color scheme. I think I've even gotten an Idea of how I'll finish the prosecutor wings, so look for those next week.
