  1. Yeah I think they will keep the current Fyreslayers and use these types of design to expand the range [which is much needed]. The original slayers have been surpassed by better tech and sculpting but they give GW a basis to build around and this Warcry kit looks to offer a lot of interest and excitement to the range.

As someone who's very critical of the Fyreslayers -these are amazing ! They totally knocked them out of the park once again with the quality of the sculpts. Even though its such a small group I think it suggests a wider, broader culture. I love the female dwarfs, the kilts, the weapon design [the spears are awesome and very dwarf!] and the mini magmadroth [they need packs of these !] and the model with the magmadroth mask/cape.

Just have to persuade my girlfriend I need these..

  3. Well I think AOS firmly won that reveal. Really happy the destruction fans - love the Troll King, great to see plastic Gorgers and the Orcs look fun!

Damsel is a wonderful sculpt, I wis she wasn't resin but great mini!

The glutton Slaaneshi model is excellent but the clear favourite is the squid, you can keep the elves just give me the squid.

Still a bit of a wait for Kurnothi .. but a great set of reveals for AOS.

Yes If you read dark harvest by josh Reynolds it's believed to be a shard of kurnoth running round the swamps in ghyran killing stuff. Would be a great addition to the sylvaneth range.

Yes I'd love some larger models - Drycha is an excellent model and it would eb great to have some larger ones on the beast side of things.

Shapeshifters could be another thing they could have ... I also hope for actual beasts running beside them, especially cats .. Warhammer in general needs more cats...

Gonna sound a bit like the "akschually" type here, but I feel like there's some things worth pointing out in what you said.

First off, the actual Leshy from Slavic folklore is very removed from the Leshen of the Witcher, their only common point is that they control animals. The Leshy is not an evil skull forest spirit, he's a bit more neutral (just don't disrespect the forest) and he's like a human with hair and beard made of leaves.

    220px-Leshy_%281906%29.jpg

And the Bes is more like a little demon that kidnaps kids than a big Witcher monster.

That's because we tend to associate Slavic and Native American folklore because they talk about and were made by two peoples close to nature, especially the rivers and temperate forests. The Wendigo is a very different beast from the Leshy, yet we tend to mesh the two together.

Well Whitefang liked this description so I'm guessing this is more of a Ghur/forest spirit/incarnate like the Leshy, not an undead thing.

Someone on Dakka posted a little about the Old Stag and reading that it sounds cool- possibly a creature for the Kurnothi  mirroring  Drycha for the Sylvaneth? The flayed skin maybe reflected on the horns of the rumour engine pic.

Don't forget the misconception that kurnothi are centaur or fauns like. Kurnothi is everyone that worships Kurnoth. For example the Kurnoth Hunters. I hope when we get those new 'kurnothi' ppl is not too disappointed if they don't look like they expect.

Even whitefang dropped us the reminder, and I think that the reason was to cut off future dissapointment:

Oh yes thats why I was saying I hope a few have the animal aspect, I expect most to be more like wood elves, which will be great - I loved the WFB 6th edition aesthetic of wild fae were they more like part of the forest and very wild. The Kurnothi from Cursed City was great. I imagine the animal type ones will either be elites or blessed/champions.

    I'm seeing Antlers.

Yes! Kurnoth or maybe a kurnothi character like a great stag centaur/kurnothi minotaur ...Could be flesh from its transformation/renewal hanging from it or lichen.. looks more flesh-y to me. Makes me think a little of the Eldar Avatar with the remains for the young king on his bloody hand. Would be a suitably dark element to Kurnoths return ..

All this Kurnothi chat and then this appears... maybe they are listening...I was running out of reacts with all this chat!

I know it's possible for Fyreslayers, but people seem to be suggesting that it's definite based on Whitefang. I'm not doubting The Fang, just wondering if this particular prophecy might already be fulfilled.

    (Hoping I'm wrong)

I definitely got the feeling there were kits not just a character coming but can't remember why I got that impression from him.

And when are you gonna release a big bunch of kits like that with the autumn that we have?

I haven't been following the roadmap but I would have thought Jan/feb would have been more likely, but you never know they may want to push a bunch of stuff out before Christmas.

I'm thinking the same, just going back to whitefangs first statement back in March re Kurnothi release, just have a feeling it would be a couple of kits.

Anything more than a single kit or single character would be fantastic. That said I would really like to see a character or two for them as well as a unit, they could really take it somewhere special with the current quality of sculpting. Thinking of the 6th edition Woodelf heroes with the possibility of a centaur/deer legged hero. I really do hope for some part animal elvesand I hope they are suitably wild/fae.

I love all the Orruk talk very much. I did receive a Whitefang like that has flown under the radar :p.

I would also like to see a fully shielded Ardboy unit. I would still be fine with minimum 5. Just to keep them a bit tougher per model and not get these 30x horde army style lists that need to be nerfed asap.

Awesome! Hopefully more than a single kit- maybe a unit or two plus a character .. one can hope..😇

  10. 2 hours ago, Baz said:

Yes think that's happening but was hoping for a splash release of a few more kits but looks like it's not meant to be.

Could be a Warcry war band and then something later with the Dawnbringer books. Orruks and FEC are clearly next and getting good releases as well as Cities so other than Warcry I doubt any other factions will see anything until next year. its maybe a bit early for Whitefang to comment with all this other stuff to come first?

I'd be very happy to get anything though!🤞

Speaking as a Kin Space Dwarf fan, I'd advise against holding your breath for any 'dead cert, definitely coming soon, second waves'!

Playable Grombrindal for AOS/TOW with special access codes for TWW DLC.

Really surprised he hasn't had a new plastic model yet!

  12. I have to say those models look amazing! The cannon and the characters especially.. I love the detailing, the grim/weirdness feel of the whole release- to me they got the feel so spot on. They seem to be doing that really well with all the recent releases- lots of visual depth and characterisation and the quality of the sculpts is just amazing.

Can't wait to see them do some proper dwarfs and more Kurnothi 🤞

I should add I love my KO, they are fantastic, but it looks like model production has got up a notch even since they were released!

Here's hoping for Skaven, the great enemy needs great models.

They would be a good choice as a contrast to Stormcast- lots of numbers, lots of textures and the potential for centrepiece units with moulder monsters and Skryre war machines.

  14. Yeah it certainly looks like a degree of caution with the [initial] restricted number of factions. But clearly they want it to succeed so it will be a balancing act between not over extending themselves but giving it enough resources to generate and sustain interest. Since bloodbowl/necromunda/Heresy/titanicus have enjoyed plastic kits I think we can hope for a reasonable amount. I have my dwarf army and I'm always looking to expand them with nice models but Wood elves were always intriguing- I could be tempted, especially if they did plastic wardancers.

That basing video makes a lot of sense - I looked at one of my plastic iron breakers yesterday and he looks so squished on his base. Since I don't play much [except 40k recently] I really enjoy the hobby side and basing is one of my favourite bits of styling an army/model so larger bases are win. Yes it will be a pain to rebase but movement trays in the new sizes will work very well as a quick upgraded also make shifting big units about so much easier.

Interesting that they have mentioned models coming back in metal as well as plastic and resin..some classics in metal could be awesome.

  15. Yeah I have today I thought it was a good article - I'm glad they are focusing on a limited set of factions initially but ensuring rules are there for all the other armies. I got the sense that they will expand beyond this initial setting in future campaigns. I'm hoping the mentioned factions get some new plastic kits and I think the potential to kit bash or use as "counts as" with AoS kits could really freshen things up as well. Kurnoth hunters would make great treekin alternatives.

Interested to see what kits come back and hoping for some nice made to order stuff- I'd love a few more of Colin Dixons Long Beard models for example and Bugmans Rangers!

Not angular enough to be a Tyranid. I'm getting water dragon vibes. Along with the rumour from a few weeks ago, could we finally be getting a second wave for IDK?Z98BP5YD0W92O8wT.jpg.7a6524b76ac5b41c826ee2cad07b63a7.jpg

Looks aquatic to me- Idoneth going with the tentacle from the other week?

  17. Just popping in very late- I thought all the AoS models looked dynamite in the reveal stream. The Nurgle lord looks amazing[might get him just to paint]and although I'm not wild about Fyreslayers and I know they need new units I thought that character model is just fantastic.

The upcoming campaign looks very interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing what updates the factions get. Hoping for some Kurnothi wildness bursting to life.

Also still waiting on a new Grombrindal model and some new dispossessed but I'm not holding my breath and the suggestion FS get new units is very welcome for my flame haired  dwarf brothers.

  18. Maybe a new campaign for the summer for AoS with different factions getting small updates? Hoping Kurnothi might appear and perhaps Grombrindal?

Looking at the list of reveals I'm thinking something will be pop up for me- there is plenty there and I hope there are few teaser videos for stuff beyond full faction reveals.
