They are going out of Beastgrave at the same time that Kragnos stomp affected all the Destruction factions.

I could also see them just dropping them as a brand new faction, rather than teasing them outing Warcry/Underworlds. The shock/surprise of something brand new, I still remember the first time I saw the KO reveal video and I wasn't expecting that- could do the same with the Silent People. Could get Nid players into AoS [not the same but a similar vibe..], I think they could do well.

maybe the rise of some real traitor dwarfs will put this in a bit more perspective. Also Grungni doesn't seem to have a grudge against the KO for abandoning the old duardin way, I mean it was kinda his fault for leaving them in the age of chaos. Also I'm slightly confused on valaya, is it the same civilisation as the khazalid or are those different?

The traitor dwarfs are the Chorfs. Grungni sees the KO as his children who've grown up. In the story of the Maker through Grombrindal he sees the first airships/skyports take to the skies and he sees hope for the future. He left his children so they could find their own way to thrive without him and the KO did that.

Would love to see Valaya back and loved the mention of Bugmans...

Thought we where due to get something related to Grombrindal this week to coincide with the 500th White Dwarf? Maybe tomorrow???

...but then it turned out to be a TOW model, and everyone returned to their posts in silent resignation.

    The end.

Or its Grombrindal in Space... The Votann version [which I'd also be fine with😇]

Would be nuts if this is the "secret" they mentioned during yesterday's post.

Wouldn't surprise me at all- last weeks antlers were revealed on Saturday with the Darkoath..

I think this particular one is going to be radio silent, as I am pretty confident this was supposed to be part of the Adepticon announcement. If they show it earlier, Adepticon would be quite empty, and they cannot show more 4th ed stuff as it would mess up the 4th exclusive preview. So it is an odd situation.

I feel a bit bad from them. Yes we get to see upcoming things early but the creatives and all the planning that went into that get done over.

The models look awesome and I agree the Chieftain on horseback reminds me of the harbinger of decay/mounted CoS marshal. With the Darkoath models that are already available it looks like a really good release.

The Custodes though... not good, awkward and badly proportioned..

But generally GW are making some cracking models time after time.

  5. Firstly- love the Gnomes - especially all the critters ! might get as a painting projected I've been wanting to add animals to my Votann so my pinch these.

The Darkoath war band is cool- I like how these and the Calis and Toll work- offers collectors/painters more variety and gives factions a bit more depth. Hope they do them for other factions too [they would be great for 40k factions as well]. Gives the settings more depth. The scuttles themselves are cracking- especially the Witch!

The dark oath leak video - they look awesome! Not a chaos fan myself but they look very cool and very happy for the community in getting these!

Hoping Adepticon is dwarf-tastic with ToW dwarfs and the Votann Killteam..🤞

  6. On the "death as a protagonist " theme- Nagash has lost his hold over death as there is a Grombrindal story were he visits one of the dwarf underworlds which had been locked up and wasted away under siege. Grombindal opens the gates and fresh dwarf spirits arrive, break the siege and renew the underworld. Grombindal says the great enemy is weakened. So the duardin are reclaiming their underworlds, other powers could do the same so Death forces wouldn't necessarily be under Nagash..

  7. Currently my old stuff is stuck in the garage along with most of our other possessions as we are doing work to the house and living elsewhere. But looking forward to getting my dwarf army out again. I did some swaps ages ago which I haven't got around to building and painting. Looking forward to getting to the old metal miners. I'll probably revisit and spruce up some of my old models as well- I have a bunch of old imperial dwarfs and some Colin Dixon thunderers and longboards as well as slayers. Was starting a redo and then they blew up the world! So now they get to shine. Have an Anvil of Doom in metal to paint and a Goblobber!

I have my old VC army as well, I'll probably sell my old 3rd ed High elves. I'd be tempted by Woodelves or Orcs and Goblins. Hoping I can get my buddy back in with either his Skaven or Chaos warriors.

Printed Highlands dwarfs & Brets, painting the former as I wait for the Bret launch box to get the book & peasants.

I'm seriously considering beginning a third army, and I'm split between Ogres, TK & WoC.

As other people have noticed on the internet, painting comparably less detailed R&F models (compared to contemporary 40k & AoS units) did wonders to my painting motivation

Those Highland models look fantastic! Quite tempted by those, they look better than the old plastic warriors in my opinion.

Warcry last box of Gnarlwood with Daemons of Nurgle vs Chaos Dwarfs. The end of the cycle

EDIT: We have a bunch of rumour engines that could be Chaos Dwarfs and we have another amount of Nurgle ones.

Yes those look like Nurgle flies and the hives are rotten torsos on the branches [always hoping for Kurnothi though..😇🦌

Pure speculation from me but does anyone think we will see Norsca and Southern realms as factions in the future? I read through the core rulebook and noticed that they have their own lore sections which seemed odd especially since none of the legacy factions have one. Cathay and Kislev both also have one but they are hopefully already in development (hopefully still) considering the articles about them way back.

Yes I'd say so, Norsca had an army list at one point, I'd love to see them back. They had shape changers and beserkers in their list, pretty cool!

Hoping for Norse Dwarfs too as they are prominent on the map!

They said somewhere in the article that plastic Night Goblin mobs would be re-released, didn't they? I assumed that they'd be the older ones.

    Ah I missed that.. brilliant

Probably ... I wonder if there will be rules for Ogre mercs..

What would be the chances that all the remaining factions get no new plastic stuff and the new plastic stuff was just a way to call for attention during the initial launch?

Quite possible - they have done similar with WotR I think. Which would be a shame but if the game proves popular enough I'm sure they can get a bigger plastic budget.

I'm really over the moon about the older stuff coming back though, they should have done this ages ago getting the most out of their back catalogue.

Anyone told @KingBrodd the trolls, the troll hag, the marauder giant and the bone grinder giant are back? Maybe he is having a lie down...

They mention Classic Ogres there too...

I'm wondering how classic, I still have my Jes Goodwin ogres which are excellent.

I would have liked them to bring back the older plastic night goblins, a bit bigger than the current ones but I thought they had bags of character..

That shaman is really cool. I’m a little sad that there’s no new plastics but definitely some kits I might grab for nostalgia purposes (especially the MTO Marauder Giant and Wyvern)

Yes , hopefully next year once they get re-established there will be new plastic kits for the factions coming out.

    Just now, Gareth 🍄 said:

The Marauder Giant is going to be Made to Order 😲

Yes! Some real classics coming back!!!

  14. The two new characters are really nice sculpts! Kinda shocked they didn't give them any new plastic kits at all though.. However the extent of the range they are bringing back is fantastic- the troll hag is excellent and some of the made to order stuff is brilliant - the old stone trolls. the marauder giant!

I don't recognise the command groups - are they old forge world kits brought back?

Thinking I'll probably just be picking up the odd metal kit and character for my dwarfs when they get released, but seriously excited by the scope of the O&G release in terms of vintage. There are some cracking old models out there, and back in metal too...

The plan is to cover this 9 factions during this edition. I don't understand the expectation that it is gonna be a tsunami of releases when they always talk like it is a long term project.

6-12 months for adding new factions to the webstore is the most viable roadmap.

I think it's great - builds up relatively quickly and then allows them to add in new/fresh kits the following year.

I wonder if we are likely to see new things for Dwarfs/Orcs and Goblins since the lists are already set? The Arcane Journals for Tomb Kings and Brets seem to only add special characters and variant units for kit bashing. They could do something different with the future ones, maybe we will find out this weekend. Have there been rumours for what might be coming? A dwarf juggernaught was a potential, or a king with shieldbearers , possibly Rangers? Not sure what might come for O&GS.

The cat is out of the bag now with the dice, so that would be my guess too. Especially if they're only revealing the one.

Yeah they could flip it and show O&G just to mess with us!

My wallet is a bit nervous about this weekend...😂

  17. Yeah I'd say Queek is definitely a WFB character, this sounds similar but will be more AOS styling which should be cool.

I was thinking about the returning TOW factions and how much I missed them which made me see just how distinctive AOS has made the factions. Intrigued to see Skaven get their turn!

This. Having a TOW forum would focus the fantasy inclined hobbyist to this place rather than splitting the community, i.e. having people look elsewhere for TOW discussions. I know I would certainly appreciate not having to run across more forums.

I agree, plus this community is so great it would be nice to keep it together with a fantasy focus and hopefully expand. TGA is such a great hangout.
