  1. If you're in the U.S. check out the magnetbaron.com . Very cheap option to magnetize a better clear post to the base and then the post to the eel. I used them, and it's really the best way to go. What's really cool is you can rotate the eel on the base, making it easier when you want to deploy the bases the long way to make a longer screen with defensive eels.
  2. That's very true - though for fluff reasons alone I find it hard not to give all my priests Killing Frenzy. Seems more of a Khorne thing to do. All Offense. And who doesn't like reapers AND letters mortal wounding on 4's or 5's......
  3. very interested to see how deepstriking thralls works for you as opposed to using them as screens. I'm hoping for a follow-up on how it went.....
  4. Choices, choices..... If your Tidecaster is General, you get the awesome Turn 2; but don't get Volturnous's "everything dies" ability. And if you make Volturnous your general you can wreck -face, but have to hold back until Turn 3. I don't know which is better, but I'm leaning on Volturnous' s command ability abuse until FAQ'd. The other thing I'm struggling with is who to keep off-board with the scryer. You really can't keep Volturnos off with some Morsarr b/c he can't use his command ability if he appears at end of the movement phase. I think maybe the general plan would be 2 units of Morsarr and Volturnos as an on-board strike-force that holds back until Turn 3. And then maybe a third unit of Morsarr (sadly unbuffed) to come in from the rear with the scryer. Or is deep-striking not even worth it, given how fast everything is???????? Alternatively, maybe you run Thralls with the scryer so you can simply get numbers to contest objectives in your opponent's backfield????
  5. Report from the field. I played 1500 pts vs. Syvaneth. I had: FL on Stonehorn (gryphfeather charm); Huskard on Thundertusk; 2x4 mournfang; 4 cats. He had: Allareille; Spirit of Durthu; Branchwych; 3x bow hunters; a bunch of dryads. (then summoned at least 30 more dryads and a treelord). Scenario: (The one where you have 3 objectives on your side worth 1 - and you can burn your opponents for d3). I had less drops and took first turn. The wildwoods blocked line of site to important targets on turn 1 for thundertusk. Frostlord with gryphfeather charm and command point for "at the double" moved 19" giving me short charge to Allareille. I got her down to 3 wounds. (If I killed her - MAYBE I would have pulled it out). She healed up and I simply didn't have enough models to keep up with their summoning. I was ground down and lost 10-15. Came away feeling like BCR simply doesn't have access to tools to deal with Syvaneth in AOS 2d. Winning was contingent on hoping my opponent making mistakes. I don't know I could have played it any better, yet the prospects for winning simply weren't there. Still love playing BCR. Just be careful going against higher-tier armies.
  6. The hot water trick works on plastic - I've never tried it on resin, but I'm not surprised that it didn't work. You got bad advice, I'm afraid. Regarding how to turn a thundertusk into a stonehorn - I personally magnetize my heads. Without that, I SUPPOSE you could snip the tusks off the thundertusk and then reattach them so they stick out sideways from the head instead of downwards. Not sure how much better that would look - but probably as close as you are going to get if you can't find some stonehorn heads somewhere.
  7. If your are referring to this from the Designer Commentary, I don't think it applies: "Q: When the word ‘any’ is used in the criteria for an ability, how many times is that ability applied when the criteria for the ability are fulfilled? For example, if an ability said ‘Add 1 to hit rolls for models that are within 6" of any models with this ability’, would I add 1 to the hit rolls of a model that was within 6" of three models with the ability, or would I add 3 to the hit rolls? A: The word ‘any’ is treated as being synonymous with ‘one or more’. In your example, this means that 1 would be added to the hit rolls, not 3." I think this would mean that multiple Aspiring Death Bringers using the command ability would not stack. But a single Aspiring Death Bringer using the ability multiple times would stack. I don't know that it makes sense, but I think that's the correct way to interpret it. Especially now with the new magenta errata regarding using a single command ability multiple times. You shouldn't have to be a linguist to play this game, but alas........
  8. I'm not sure I understand why this wouldn't stack if used multiple times in same turn.
  9. Slaughterpriests. Lots of slaughterpriests. To run Gore Pilgrims. I always run 3 to great effect.
  10. looking through the warscroll erratas, a lot of them are limited heroes' ability to use command abilities on same unit multiple times on same turn (e.g., Morathai). They didn't do that to the aspiring death bringer. So correct me if I'm wrong, but could I, say, save 150 points for an extra 3 command points, have the ADB and maybe some wrathmongers in support, and keep the secrator's portal open of course, and give - i don't know maybe a whipped - Scarbrand - an extra 5 attacks with each of his axes. I mean 6 slaughters and 6 carnages I think would kill any 2 units he charges between.
  11. Probably an easy one here. Several Ploy cards trigger on next "attack" action. In the store I was playing, they were saying that if I performed a "charge" as my next action, those ploys do not trigger, because a "charge" action is distinct from a simple "attack" action. (I guess the argument is that those ploy cards would be too powerful if they could be used by charging models??) To me, though, the rules seemed pretty clear that a "charge" action is effectively both a "move" and "attack" action, so that any ploy triggered by either of those actions is triggered by the charge. Correct? And if so, is there any authoritative source I can point to?
