  1. Yeah, I mean the Thundertusks will get the +2 and do mortals on 4's instead of 6's like lesser Ogors.
  2. See my post above. It's slightly better for Stonhorns. It's worse from Mournfangs unless you run a 8 man unit.
  3. Here it is: I like it. So an average charge roll of 7 for a Stonehorn will result in 3 1/2 mortals. So maths-out a bit better than the current rule. (And assuming Thundertusks are also Rhinox's - they will do mortals on charge as well). (For mournfangs, this is a downgrade on mortal wounds on charge unless you run a unit of 8).
  4. I thought the community website article still showed mortal wounds happening on the charge of stonehorns based on the charge roll. (I think it was roll # of dice based on charge roll, 6+ = 1 mortal; (+2 to that roll for stonehorns)??
  5. Does this hint at imminence of new Ogor tome? How long were old FEC and Sylvaneth tomes on the site before the new ones were released?
  6. I like it! My only concern, a practical one, would be if you don't already own the models. I would be hesitant to buy that many Yhetees. Because they are finecast, I am worried that they will be removed from the new Mawtribes Battletome. Purely speculation on my part. Come to think of it, same thing would apply to the Sabres as well.
  7. True. That's why I like the Frostlord on Stonehorn in addition to the Huskard. I realize that's more points. I tend to shy away from Thundertusks as overrated anyway. If you are going the Thundertusk route, it's better to have multiple ones anyway. The way I play it, it's either all hard-hitting melee - meaning Stonehorns, Yhettis and Mournfang OR multipleThundertusks at range screened by other stuff. In my experience, when I try to do a little bit of both, it is not as effective as doing one of the two all-out. Probably just my preference/play style.
  8. If it were me, I'd put the Frostlord on the Stonehorn and the Huskard on the Thundertusk. In fact, Frostlord on Stonehorn with Ethereal Amulet is basically our best unit. Also 3x Yhettis are better than 6x Frost Sabres in most situations. Especially against mortal Khorne, your list is practically made for giving him cheap Blood Tithe with all those min Sabre units!
  9. I think the real clues are in the wording of the rumor engine: "If you could see this full picture you’d go into a shock-induced coma. That’s why we’ve very considerately decided to show it to you in very small doses, to allow you to build up an immunity to all of the awesome. You should probably still take a seat when you look at this snippet… [IMAGE] Think you can conjure the rest of the image in your mind’s eye? Care to describe the contents of your vision on our Facebook pages for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar? Go for it! But be mindful of those who aren’t ready to bear the full weight of truth just yet." The text before the image has allusions to medicine/disease. The text after the image has allusions to magic/mentalism. Does this jibe with Tyrion's End Times story? (I never read that bit of lore). It sure seems like the language used was deliberately hinting at something.......
  10. Excellent! I'll take that as a sign that BCR's everwinter theme will survive the new Battletome.
  11. Don't forget to use the "All Out Attack" command ability from the General's Handbook. BCR really benefit from the re-roll 1's to hit with our lousy to-hit stats. Pretty much our only way to boost our # of hits.
  12. List #2 is truest to what BCR are suppose to be, IMHO. Might also be a good mix w/Seraphon. You will play very aggressively and directly, which will force a direct answer, while your partner can dance around and score objectives, etc...
  13. Well, despite all this, I'm still set on trying a 5x3 Varanguard & Archaon list. [Mainly I'm doing it as a painting/hobbying idea]. IF Archaon still has ANY value, it's how he buffs Varanguard. I know it will not be super-competitive, but Archaon lets Varanguard hit on 2+ and gives them the second pile-in and attack once per game. It will be one glorious turn of Alpha Striking Varanguard, and then downhill from there. (Average dice each Varanguard unit will do 10 Dmg to a 4+ save target, and then assuming one model dies in the fight-back, the 2 left will do another 7 Dmg in the second attack. If I get 3 of 5 units in on the Alpha strike that's 51 damage. (And as I write this I realize that the All Out Attack command ability lasts the entire Combat phase, and so will work for the second pile-in and attack as well on one of the units).
  14. Too adorned to be Ogor IMO. And the columned part just below the head doesn't mesh with any chaos aesthetic. That part looks aelvish, but a mace? I would say dwarf, but how could that be? This one is a stumper..... (no pun intended).
  15. I hope you magnetized the horns for the thundertusks/stonehorns! Who knows what the new the book will do to the warscrolls! Personally, I vastly prefer to run all Stonehorns - a big problem we have is we have few models, and we need to keep them alive as long as possible. Stonehorns are pretty damn hard to kill. For the same reason I prefer the Ethereal Amulet on the Frostlord on Stonehorn so that 3+ save is unrendible. I guess if you know you up against an army that dishes out a lot of mortal wounds, then the 4+ save vs. mortals might be the way to go. Remember also that the Thundertusk frost wreathed ice attack was FAQ'd to count in all ways as a shooting attack, meaning we can no longer run and shoot with it to increase range. If you go the route you have, I would recommend downgrading the Frostlord thundertusk to Thundertusk beastriders. It will save 100 points, and then you can have one unit of mournfang at 4. They are better in 4's. I think that will give you enough left over points for a unit of Yhetee's - which are awesome. You need as many bodies as you can to screen the 3x thundertusks. Don't forget the "All out attack" command ability from the GHB. We desperately need any thing we can get to buff the to-hit role.
  16. Excited, but nervous too. Might this mean the Tyrant was not for a new BattleTome, but just for Underworlds. Do we know for sure that Mawtribes is going to be a thing?
  17. Unless it's a gem from the Realm of Light, where the artwork has lots of crystals..... Last Aelvish Faction inbound?
  18. The story seems to tie-in with the mercenary unit. So I don't think it hints at anything regarding what we might find in a new book. As much as I want it, I still dont see anything confirming that a Mawtribe book will happen at all, let alone what it will contain.
  19. For what it's worth, I've played 8 meeting engagement games over the last few weeks with BCR and went 6-2. Spearhead: 2x Mournfang; 3x Yehttis Mainbody: Frostlord on Stonehorn (ethereal amulet; Everwinter's Master); 4x Mournfang Rearguard: 2xFrostsabres The small board and victory point conditions really seem to favor us over matched play. The format also seems to favor self-sufficient units. Anyway, nice to have something we can be good at!
  20. Seems very situational to me. I guess if you happen to have a lot of shooting where you play.
  21. That second artifact is tricky. I reverted to Tokens of Everwinter on the Huskard I think (for that one turn at least in which it counts) it makes him a pretty hard hitter. I think we get more out of that than the Blade of All-Frost.
  22. I'm wondering what the "Free" terrain piece would be. Some kind of rotting meat/bone pile to draw in reinforcements? Some sort of chance at a kind of "summoning" would be cool. Or maybe some sort of Ogor encampment that lets units heal if w/in a certain distance? I'm putting the cart well before the horse . I just acquired a huge Ogor army which I'm painting to match my BCR.
  23. @heywoah_twitch - great write-up. I'm inspired to take them down from the high shelf again and put them back in the carrying case. ...might need more Yehti's as much as I want mournfang to work, though.
