  1. The issue is keeping them in range of said buffs, we lack a mobile shooting general unfortunately.
  2. Prosecutors without the ability to deepstrike in to take advantage of their charge rule and target choices don't seem worth it to me. They're not battle line, and are cheaper but at the cost of wounds (for minimum or maximum units). They don't see a lot of play in SCE and I don't think they really bring anything to the table that we don't have better access to in CoS. That said they're probably close enough in efficacy that if you wanted to use them for fluff reasons over Outriders you wouldn't feel bad for doing so.
  3. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/03/21/who-fights-first/ Why this isn't made readily available on the community page I'll never know but this explains the sequencing for fighting first, last, and in between.
  4. This seems like both bad luck and bad positioning. An Ironblaster should be hitting on 5s against a 3+ save model (unless something crazy has happened your general should be in terrain on round 1). Then you're passing half the wounds off on a 4+ to your retinue, the chances of an Ironblaster sniping your general turn one are very low. The OBR catapult is a bit worse because its fixed damage with a better to hit but the counter point is it has no rend so it should take 3 wounds to get you to fail one save of which you should on average only take 2-3 wounds from.
  5. You can never take SCE battalions because they're not a legal ally choice. You could take KO Battalions as an ally choice in every city except Tempest Eye (where KO are not a legal ally) and you can take Sylvaneth Battalions as an ally choice in every city except for Living City and Grey Water Fastness (where Sylvaneth are not a legal ally). Here are the legal ally selections.
  6. Yeah against DoK you can't really try to out agro them, they're faster and usually lower drop so they're going to control the tempo. You've got to make them make tough choices and take away their first play to be able to win out.
  7. Basically it never happens - any player who knows the rules of the Incantor is going to deploy to cast out of unbind unless they're forced to for the sake of range. And given that the range of an empowered SSB is 24" + the 6" deployment range you have 0 reason to ever cast SSB inside scroll range.
  8. You're 100% correct, I totally forgot about the actual allies restriction given that SCE aren't a CoS ally. I was answering purely based off the fact that if you were able to it would be an ally but SCE aren't a legal CoS ally at all.
  9. Not sure - I'd play it as having to declare one or both at the same time but that's a personal interpretation not backed by RAW at all. My main point here is that if the charging unit survives the first volley at best you might be able to kill it with the 2nd volley (depending on how you played the interaction with the timing) at worst you've lost the 2nd volley all together. Its a solid tactic but it relies on the first volley killing the charging unit so the 2nd volley gets access to a 2nd target - even if you end up killing the first charger by going 1st volley, 2nd volley any further charges are now safe from any return fire. Also watch out for 6" pile ins.
  10. In my eternal quest to never get enough practice with a single list I gave Tempest Eye a shot last night. I played against DoK (Khailebron rather than Hagg Narr) in Starstrike - no realm rules, terrain was fairly uneventful (one mystic piece that might have mattered but no objectives landed near it). I ran: Overall I was very pleased with the way the list played out - my opponent hit me hard with a Khailebron teleport paired with a Mirror Dance'd Morathi but I deployed well enough to prevent her from getting into my company. Some other highlights were removing a Cauldron turn one with the Skyhooks, the damage output of +1 to hit, +1 attack Phoenix Guard, and the ability to really change my opponents entire play because of the TE move bonus. He would likely have taken the 2nd turn to play for the early double but the M7 + D6+ 1 from the company that can still shoot forced him to take the first turn and he actually pulled his sisters back from the line to stop me from decimating them with Handgunners. This was kind of a lark list for me (mostly a chance to use some of my favorite models in the game - Arkanaut Company) but I was really surprised and pretty excited about the prospect of this list.
  11. You cannot - they are Battle Line in a Stormcast Eternals army with the correct general. Since you'd be playing a Cities of Sigmar list they still won't fill your battle line requirement. You can use the Cleansing Phalanx as an allied selection (thus subject to all usual requirements) and the units that make up the battalion would also be allies. I've attached the relevant FAQ section as to the 'why' of this.
  12. I'm 100% on board with Cities of Sigmar - I think the book is very well written with the capacity to play in several styles. The units in the book are generally close enough in power scope that even 'sub optimal' units can perform well enough to have fun. The book also lets you shift gears with your play style too, you can play super competitive with the book or take time to play far more fluffy and fun lists.
  13. That's not how the special shot works. You compare each roll to the unit's bravery which means a unit 7 or above is completely immune to the shot.
  14. Its not a matter of sequencing, you can't use the Sisters defensive volley ability if there is an enemy unit within 3" of the unit. So if one unit survives and makes the charge you're automatically disqualified from using it again.
  15. If the chaff survives the first salvo and you didn't shoot with the 2nd unit you won't be able to shoot with it if you're charged by a 2nd unit.
  16. Does anyone also want to point out that you have Adam Hall (GW staffer, not a known great tournament player) playing against Tony Moore (of Warscroll Builder fame) who is always a guy in contention/playing in the top quarter of events?
  17. No one seems to be acknowledging the fact that Sequitors aren't a Battle Line choice (and thus require an additional 3 units to be purchased) where PG are a situational Battle Line in cities. That by itself pushes PG beyond Sequitors.
  18. But for 30 more points you get 10 Phoenix Guard who are offensively identical but far excel defensively.
  19. I haven't been running it, unfortunately I don't thin Wildwood Rangers hold up very well - they're excellent against monsters but against most other targets they feel lackluster so having to take 3 units feels like too much of a tax. I'd rather just take good units that take advantage of LC traits instead.
  20. Without the ability to multicast I don't think its really worth it in Living City, multiple casters is probably the best option.
  21. What are you even talking about? Irondrakes, Gyrocopters, Hammerers, and Longbeards (situational for their buff) are all being used in lists right now.
  22. Because you aren't supposed to play mono Dispossessed, or mono Wanderers, or mono anything. The book is called Cities of Sigmar and is about playing with armies of the Cities which are blended forces that represent the various factions in that city. The sooner people grasp this the better.
