  1. FAQ and Errata have just been updated. The new Cities of Sigmar warband rules are out too!
  2. Yes, the webstore is awful at the moment. They should roll back to the previous version until it's navigable.
  3. Finally, (phew!) got the rope bridges done from the Heart of Ghur set. If anyone else is thinking about doing this, painting the bindings Corvus Black over a Zandri Dust undercoat is a horribly tedious way to paint them. Maybe Black Templar would have been a much better choice? Pro tip: AK Interactive Ultra Matt varnish has been a God send to give a consistent matte look whilst protecting the paint job from damage.
  4. Congratulations King Brodd! Your stomp grows!
  5. A buddy of mine is working on his catacombs board at the moment. Excited to give it a try. This board is bonkers good!
  6. Good for you @Gitzdee, glad you got a copy. I’m very tempted and might buckle. The Wildercorps in particular are high on my list to paint.
  7. Hmm. It’s still on the Australian webstore. If it is sold out in your regions webstore @Gitzdee, you could try your local stores? If it has indeed sold out, can’t see it coming back in stock in the same form.
  8. Big welcome to the Mortal realms!
  9. If you have been keeping up since second edition Warcry launched and bought Heart of Ghur, Sundered Fate, etc you already have more than enough terrain. (I have rope bridges coming out my ears!) Pretty reasonable to get one flashy piece in the new set. Only thing is, I am not sure about playing a named warband. I only play narrative play games and have just been running my Cities war band. When adding new fighters you have an enormous amount of options. I don't have to buy or paint anything either, I just pick a model I like from my Age of Sigmar army - too easy! Now, if I played Claws of Karanak for example, I only get one hero model in that kit - the packlord. Do players buy multiple copies of their faction box to allow them to expand their warband later or do they go with allies? (I imagine allies might not synergise as well?) Why would you play Gorgers when you could play Mawtribes? Why would you play Wildercorps when you could play Cities?
  10. I collect both Mawtribes and Cities, this is going to be hard to resist!
  11. Me too, Sons of Velmorn are just perfect if you ask me.
  12. Neodymium magnets are really, really dangerous if ingested. It’s illegal to sell them as toys in Australia. I think this is the main reason GW go for other solutions.
  13. Terrain is a funny one. One of the secrets of terrain collecting is that you don't actually need that much. A collection of some trees and ruins is pretty much all you need. However, even a single piece of characterful terrain can make a game go from good to truely memorable. You only need to see the Warhammer World dioramas to see what a difference it can make. The terrain sets that have been coming out of GW have been outstanding. I'm not against faction terrain being implemented in some other way. Seeing armies fighting over beautiful terrain in shop windows is a powerful recruiting tool. You also surrender the look of your setting to third party manufacturers if you don't do terrain.
  14. I'm working on the terrain from Heart of Ghur. I got the trees finished, including one extra from Sundered Fate that I assembled without the marshwood platform: Next, I finished five of the smaller obstacles from the set: I am currently working on the rope bridges. (And yes, the binding on the marshwood takes forever to paint!!!)
  15. Rotgut Troggs would look great amidst your rocky, alpine terrain. Awesome Gitzdee!
  16. Artistry - absolutely stunning job mate!
  17. I haven't played Killteam but I have found Warcry super fun. I love it and recommend it.
  18. In the days of early AoS, I was the first of my gaming group to have that 'I get it' moment with Age of Sigmar and realise how awesome it was. I purchased the old Skirmish book and Path to Glory book and focused my hobby efforts on these modes to try and make it easier for my group to try this new game. I ended up playing through the Skirmish campaign playing Freeguild vs Tomb Kings and having a lot of fun with it. It wasn't until a friend was starting a brand new Skaven army and needed a game he could play with the models he had finished did I go and try second edition Warcry. Wow, it blew me away. One of the best designed games Games Workshop have ever made. So clean, easy to learn and so much fun. I am all-in with Warcry at the moment, I've just finished the large terrain pieces from Heart of Ghur and having heaps of fun with it. When my friend's Skaven army is ready, I may switch back to Age of Sigmar Path to Glory as my main game with Warcry a close second. Great to see so many Warcry players in this poll. Shout out to you all.
  19. Oh my goodness. Plastic Gorgers - didn’t see that coming! They are gorgeous! I collect Ogors, Cities and Gnarlwood terrain - how lucky 😃! Those Ironjawz and Troggs - wow. How good does Dawnbringers 2 look! Blown away.
  20. No. The headline army should definitely stay Stormcast Eternals. My five year old son can knock out a new Stormcast model on a Saturday and his models look great. These models had him painting before he could read. Us old folk might prefer other ranges like Cities but for bringing new people into the hobby - that’s something Age of Sigmar got right from day one.
  21. So happy with this new Battletome! I am looking forward to porting over my existing Freeguild army and playing a few games. I plan on adding pavises to my hand gunners and sticking my Greatcannon and Helblaster on 100 mm (?) rounds and off I go.
  22. Oh dear. Yes, Heart of Ghur was twice the price but it had four times the amount of models that were all brand new sculpts. It also had a quality cardboard game board, the FULL core book and all that gorgeous, gorgeous Gnarlwood terrain. At least the underworlds miniatures they have included in the new starter are incredible models. Those vampires in particular are stunningly good.
  23. The Warcry starter set does come with one of those nice thick cardboard folding ones, according to the product description on the GW web store. At least that’s something. Edit: Seems like even the GW webstore team can't believe it doesn't come with a cardboard game board. As Gitzdee pointed out, it's indeed just a folded paper playing surface...
  24. That ended up being more pricey than I had hoped. Yes, having the full rulebook and more terrain would have been nice, even if this pushed the price up a little.
