  1. Mortals have already featured in the story though, looking for Slaanesh.
  2. Yeah, I’ve never bought a model based on its rules. I’m all about those aesthetics baby!
  3. I already said, I don’t like the Slaves to Darkness models (or the Beastmen ones, particularly). And they’re available to everyone so it does nothing to lessen the disappointment.
  4. You’re focusing too much on the word ‘mortal’. Non-demon unit. Its just about unit variety, for me anyway. I don’t care if they’re human or beasts, I just wanted a new unit that wasn’t daemonettes, like every other god has got. To me it simply boils down to this - Slaanesh has waited the longest for any kind of update, and got the least out of it. I waited patiently for Slaanesh because I thought it would be well worth the wait. And while what we got is awesome, there’s still not a core of the army that appeals to me, so yeah, I’m disappointed.
  5. Why? They increase the diversity in the unit choice, exactly how a mortal unit would. I’d be happy with Slaangor instead. Also, I mentioned them from the start, so I haven’t shifted any goalposts - they’re right where I always put them.
  6. But any chaos army can take Slaves to Darkness etc, as well as having more of their own options. That’s not unique to Slaanesh, and therefore still leaves them behind the other gods. Also, most of those models are old and not great, partly why I was hoping for a new unit kit.
  7. Yeah, that colour scheme is just fantastic. I like the big hair too.
  8. People keep saying this, but Maggotkin got the Pusgoyles. They may just be mounted Blightkings, but I’d be happy with a unit of dismounted Hellstriders. Tzeentch also got Tzaangor, Tzaangor on discs, and a Tzaangor hero, which might not strictly be ‘mortal’, but they fulfil the same role of increasing the diversity of the basic troop options.
  9. They got the Pusgoyles with the Maggotkin release, so they have 2 mortal units, and a handful of mortal hero’s.
  10. Daemonettes are just as old as Bloodletters...
  11. There’s very little, if any, outrage here. Disappointment is the word, and it’s not unwarranted. Every Chaos army has access to Slaves to Darkness. Slaanesh has waited the longest for their update and got the least out of it. No ones asking for much, and they aren’t expecting things blindly, there’s been a pattern to past chaos releases.
  12. I would probably just assume we definitely aren’t getting them, or the disappointment is just gonna be worse.
  13. I just watched it and couldn’t see the Mangler anywhere.
  14. Exactly the same here. I’m usually fully in the camp that we overhype things and it leads to disappointment, but GW absolutely did not help this time.
  15. When they showed the Gloomspite video, they didn’t show the Trolls or the Mangler, we saw them through battletome leaks later. Sometimes they show everything and sometimes they don’t, and they mentioned with the Slaanesh video there was more to see.
  16. It absolutely was realistic. Tzeentch got 3 new units along side their characters and greater daemon when DoT was released. Slaanesh have got 0. Slaanesh only has Daemonettes as a basic troop. Tzeentch has Horrors, Tzaangor and Acolytes. Khorne has Bloodletters, Blood Reavers and whatever the more armoured guys are called. Nurgle has Blightkings and Plaguebearers. No ones asking for anything crazy here.
  17. The Lord of Change came out with the big Disciples of Tzeentch release, and the Great Unclean One with the Maggotkin release which had a couple of mortal things too (and they already had their mortal unit anyway).
  18. Not sure how much you can actually read into that, though. Beasts of Chaos for example was a small release with just the terrain and spells, so it’s easier to afford the LE book with that. There were loads of models for the Gloomspite release, so people may have passed over the more expensive book in order to get more models. Lots of the Gloomspite stuff went out of stock from what I remember. Not that you can read much into that either without knowing how much was made, but I haven’t had any impression that they were an unpopular release.
  19. I’m impressed with how in-depth it is, I hope they use the info they get from it well. I’m sure I’m gonna be thinking of things I should have added for the next week or so!
  20. Well, we can’t ever discuss anything Games Workshop officially announces then, either. Gotta stick to pure rumours!
  21. People talking about a new release in the news and rumour thread? The horror!
  22. It won’t, until the Monday of the week they’ll go up for preorder. That’s when retailers get their price lists and we generally hear about the prices then.
  23. That stuff would have come with the battletome, if it was coming.
  24. Yeah, that’s what I suspected. It’s like when the community a year or so ago decided it was ‘year of the xenos’ and then got annoyed at GW who had never made such a claim.
