  1. I second this notion! I happen to like the sculpt, and with a bit of conversion work I think it'll look sweet. I'm thinking along the lines of greenstuffing hair of some kind, maybe a fauxhawk with a man bun, filling the parchments up and giving it a coat of pva+kitchen towel to model the remnants of a tattered scarf, chop off the hammer head and put in a flaming torch modeled with a q-tip and pva, shave off some of the trinkets and the result is going nicley towards some type of witch hunter character.
  2. Guess I'm gonna jump in for the first time also! I'm shooting for 3 more Ironjawz Brutes, to be built, converted to not wearing armor and rigging some new weapon on them. I'm using oils for the pale lilac skin so it's gonna take some time to round out my warband. The good (?) thing is I need them for a tournament on the 27th, so that's some added motivation also. I'm also working on Gotrek, just for fun. That might be included as well. Not as ambitious a goal as some of you guys 'n gals here, but I'm gonna go for it at a comfortable pace.
  3. Skipping on passing judgement on the aesthetics, as to each their own, what I'm thinking about in regards to this death construct faction is the possible paint schemes. I may not be the most imaginative out there, but seeing as everything is bone related might limit the color range a bit. I mean I can see some people maybe going the necron route and doing metallic constructs, but the grey/brown/creme hues of bone feels kind of limiting. It'll be super interesting, thought, to see what kind of paint schemes people with more vision and imagination will come up with.
  4. I've played with the following list: 1x long raptor prime 3x long raptors 1x bird The bird has done nothing at all, maybe due to scenarios drawn from the deck. I've rolled cold with shooting but pretty hot in melee, so I've been beating the untamed beasts warband by the skin of my teeth. My problem is as follows: I don't feel like spending 50€ for the hunter box but don't like the push fit aspect of the farstriders for converting purposes. I still need three more raptors for AoS gameplay but I'd prefer to build them as the long strikes seeing as they are more useful on AoS. Warcry, though, suits the rapid fire guys better. I guess what I'm trying to say amongst this rambling is if anyone has ideas for proxies/cool conversion ideas for SCE for Warcry, especially considering the right base size for both the games. So far my best bet is to greenstuff some fur embellishments for sequitors and call them hunters for Warcry.
  5. I hit a snag on building terrain. Since I'm a noob on this aspect of the hobby, all my effort went to way too oversized buildings that both look ridiculous and don't lend themselves well to gameplay. I'm gonna start over, and hence the question: my new plans involve a static board with built in elevation and building features. I know this was all well and good in Mordheim but do you guys think it'll work for Warcry? The implications would be to discard the idea of a terrain deck and a new way to set up the forces would be required. I'm not quite sure how to go on about this.
  6. Great choice of colors! I especially love the drab green clothing, would you mind to share the recipe? Also, the basing is spot on, great compliment to the miniatures. Make sure to post a family photo as soon as you are done with the whole team!
  7. I was thinking along the lines of matching a Mordheim faction to a warband in Warcry and get the feel of good old times. For example, Sisters of Sigmar could easily play as the cypher lords, possessed as the unmade and so on. On another note, I'm in a process to build a cityscape board and terrain features for Warcry, to bring the new game closer to the old setting.
  8. I think the game mechanics would lend themselves nicely to other locations than the chaos wastes as well, maybe even - oh, I don't know - a city of the damned of some kind. The possibilities for different boards and buildings are nigh endless. I'm a big fan of the new sculpts for the warbands so more in the same vein would be nice to have. Expanding on the existing factions playable rosters down the line, I have a bunch of stormcast but only raptors to start Warcry with.
  9. I'm still high on the Unmade although their play style is not a 100% my cup of tea. But I'm a horrible player anyway, and always appreciate the aesthetic aspect of the hobby more so that I can lose with a fabulous looking bunch of models. Based on the video you mentioned, I'd think the Iron golems would best fit a simple linear smash-face strategy that is the most forgiving and easiest to grasp, and thus would be ideal for me. I think I need to look more into them now.
  10. This one is easy for me: it's gonna be the Unmade. I'm thinking of toning down all the spikyness for a more streamlined look, and not being a big fan of skulls, I'll probably sculpt new masks for the warband. Maybe something like plague doctor masks or death masks of some kind.
  11. Sweet work! I particularly love the scales on Thoth-Gorgoroth's mount. And I have no choice but to agree the bases are really well done. On that topic, would you be able to share where you got the custom "name ring" for the lack of a better term? I might be very interested in those since I have named most of my characters and something like this would be a cherry on top kind of thing.
  12. Love the Warcry stuff! Looks like it' shaping up to be everything I dared to hope.
  13. Super late to the party, just got my first warband with Steelheart's Champions. I got them mainly because I loved the miniatures, but I'll maybe try the actual game down the line. I went for a super grim and dirty, muted look with a very limited palette. Comments and advice are very welcome as I've been on a hiatus from painting for some years.
