  1. Unfortunately, you can't double-tap the Iliatha CA as it only works on units with 2 or more models. Other CAs should be fine though. On a positive note, I am much nearer to having a 2000pt army painted than I was a couple of days ago.
  2. By the sound of it, the one-drop battalion means one-drop - ie you have to place all units from the battalion down in one go. If true, this does at least give some deployment advantage to the opponent without a one-drop.
  3. Crossbows with magazines exist in AOS and did in Fantasy. Weapons in AOS are not mediaeval weapons (or any other historical era), though they may be inspired by them.
  4. I agree, the Spelleater curse will shut down a spell from Teclis. The only trick is choosing which of the 4 spells chosen out of the 22 spells available to Teclis to shut down.
  5. Thank you for the feedback, it's very useful. I was unsure as it is a lot of points from an LRL point of view, so it's good to hear from someone with more IDK knowledge. I am currently painting up a Windmage, so the strategy you outlined above is probably the safer bet, as you say. I only wish Wardens were a little less ... spiky. I shall look into the video mentioned - thanks again.
  6. As an IDK player, do you think having 10 Thralls and a Soulscryer as allies to deepstrike in would be a viable option? I'm thinking it could create some cautiousness and it's the only way to get deepstrike in the army. I say Thralls because I already have them painted (another unfinished project).
  7. For some of us, what you have described is rocket science. Fortunately, I'm happy to wait and just buy the models I want when they are released seperately.
  8. Nice job! I do like the blue; it works really well and contrasts the head and feathers nicely.
  9. Your post made me wonder if the Scuttlers may be part of this faction. Mires and bogs often produce gases - methane etc. Maybe they use some type of marsh gas to inflate the skin from a giant bogsquig creature to take to the air.
  10. Finally finished my first 10 Swor... er Bladelords. I think they stand up fairly well against the new models.
  11. It probably will need an FAQ. What we have at the moment is a difference of interpretation of the English language structure they used and that can only really be resolved by FAQ from on high.
  12. I agree with @adboyslim regarding the Loreseeker. The entire paragraph is setting out rules for setting up the Loreseeker as a Lone Agent. This only occurs at the start of the game before deciding who goes first. Any set up later in the game would not be as a Lone Agent and therefore the rules would not apply. You cannot simply take one sentence out of its context and give it its own seperate meaning.
  13. I'd be happy with a nod towards more traditional fairie folk - Pixies, Redcaps, Brownies, Boggarts, and such like. The fairy-tale motiff has appeared occasionally recently, especially since the Sons release.
  14. My first thought on reading the rule was the implication that the core rule will change so that units cannot make a normal move if within 3" of an enemy unit. Logically, then, retreat will no longer be a normal move. I'm interested to see what it will be. Perhaps making a normal move within 3" or retreating will require a command ability as standard - more command points; more situations requiring their use.
  15. The Fimir are conceptuallly drawn from the Fomorians of Irish Legend. If they were to lose some of the lore they've built up around Fimir and return to that source a bit more, it would make a great new faction.
  16. I'm on the Fimir train judging from the teaser, but does the fact that there were mortal soldiers round the camp fire indicate that we may be getting new human Cities troops in the new box. It was a teaser for the whole box after all, not just the Destruction side.
  17. Your right, wasn't thinking. The Calligrave is prob the best option then as it's the cheapest hero we have and can still reach out with magic. A lot will depend on the changes to CP cultivation and use in 3rd to see wether it's worth tying up a hero on the Shrine or not.
  18. The problem they have now is if they give Ymetrica better traits all the named characters would get them as well. They would still have to restrict the rules to Alarith only to avoid that happening.
  19. I've been considering the option of putting a Windmage with Guiding Flurries on the Shrine with Sentinels nearby. With a 16" move he can still play a role later in the game if needs be. The Cathallar can then move forward with Wardens or Bladelords. What do you think?
  20. The series is called Broken Realms, but so far they are very far from broken and one more chapter doesn't feel like enough time to go from the end of Belakor to broken. I have been wondering whether a new player is about to step into the ring. Tyrion is supposedly confronting a force far greater than Nagash. Given that Tyrion has shown little inclination up to now to confront anything, even the threat of Chaos, beyond helping to imprison Slaanesh, it ought to be something potentially realm shattering (as it were) to move him to action. Given that Kroak has suddenly become a big player in events, perhaps his great plan is nearing fruition. Perhaps we may be seeing the return of the old ones.
  21. Perhaps he stole it from another of his Race, or it belonged to the progenitor of his race, and it simply depicts a member of his race and not him specifically. They're not always entirely accurate with their waffle.
  22. It seems that Kroak is enacting some convoluted great plan of his own through this narrative. Is it possible that he imprisoned Kragnos so that he could then release him back into the Realms at this particular moment to create a chain of events his great plan requires. It seems more likely than Kragnos just happens to be freed coincidentally. We know that Kroak is happy for any amount of damage (required or collateral) to befall order factions in the pursuit of his goals. Maybe he believes that the isolation of Azyr from the other Realms is undermining the preservation of the whole and Kragnos is the means to bring Azyr back to the fold and reunite the Realms as they should be. With the Realms aligned as they should be, perhaps the whole will be able to push back against Chaos until the natural equilibrium between the two has been re-established.
  23. Are there any spells with a casting value higher than 8?
