  1. Dan Bradshaw has gone 27 straight wins with this BoC in UK tournaments. He's leaning into a Tzeentch/Tzaangor heavy list. Has anyone seen it recently? I have a blurry older copy, I was wondering if there were changes. I'm not net-listing, just for posterity and interest.
  2. Did anyone cover it on a podcast or blog post (goonhammer) regarding matches? I'm confused, how do you get the Khineri Heartrenders in there? 3. I always wanted Skycutter chariots back, and Tempest Eye to get some of those Aelves. To me it was a real untapped potential. Flying chariots that did MWs on impact, etc.
  4. It's the best it has ever been. The fact we have consistent lore, novels, published alone speaks volumes compared to the fact we never really got anything back then. If you've read the Josh Reynolds or whomever did Callis and Toll stuff you can breathe a fresh air of relief. The old guard authors always said "in fantasy you had this set of guidelines of what you could do" and Alan Merrit killed a lot of things that broke away from what he wanted. The Old World was Moorcock and Tolkien and that's like so much, an evolution built upon Tolkien. But it was "land locked" and "grid locked" by lore and geography. people argued the dumbest things back in 8th ed and before. Even when they tried to do Time of Legends it was a failure. That they are trying to bring back The Old World as a HH style-fantasy prequel setting is baffling. It sucked back then it will suck and fracture the community now. People who dislike current AoS lore, when I read them it generally is they don't like the freedom or they don't like it changed. And no one hates change like a gamer.
  5. Oddly this week GW is calling them Aelves regarding the 5 short stories they are selling. This is correct. The only thing that tied them was Revenants imaged themselves to look like "protectors of the woods from ages past" or something akin to that. So people assumed they were dead aelf souls brought back.
  6. I'm assuming you are calling them Sisters of the Avelorn because of the Old World (yes the old handmaidens from 5th ed). Hence my comments.
  7. I think they need spears in addition to their bows to be Avelorn. But I like they are still there with Alarielle after all these ages that have passed. Would be fluffy to include a Treelord Ancient as well. I recall one being in one of the novels. Either the Time of Legends or that Malekith trilogy series. What about hunters with bows? They will be really swingy regarding shots but taking out an enemy hero in a turn can really swing a game. I mean if you're struggling with Sword output, try them. Neat list and looks fun. I like seeing the counts-as units. CoS is the place for that for sure. You could consider using your GG as more Sisters. I saw someone go 4-1 with 3x20 Sisters a few weeks back. Something to consider.
  8. Is that the only leak you guys found? the other pages were leaked here too?? I didn't see them so I attached them. Some good responses and salt on twitter (surprised it's not more salt; perhaps Elon is garnering all that). But I would be more interested to think about these post GHB 2022 if Troop(ers) are going to be more focussed. Perhaps Daemonettes will drop in points. I guess we'll see. In the interim an interesting comment was Hedonites start the game with -18 DP since you're going for that 5+ ward 1st turn. I guess natural evolution of the game will be daemons have a save that ends up going to a Ward akin to 4th edition Fantasy them having a "daemon save" that ended up being an armour save and an additional Ward save by 8th ed. Shrugs. I was hoping someone could clarify for the battalion is the chariot units were sans hero or would a blade bringer on chariot work?
  9. Unless it has Waywatcher hero level machine gun like abilities/weapons it will prove to be dismal akin to the Cursed City Kurnothi/Sylvaneth hero.
  10. mmm that's true. I used to follow Kurgan's and it got quite out of date. ah well,..
  11. In a sense this is exactly my point. You are talking about barriers to entry for tournament players. Likely you're an established long time player of this army. Are you going to generate a lot of revenue for GW if they fix the books with the current range? If they make the army appealing to new players is that going to generate sales? I don't think anyone every implied selling Sylvaneth to new players was your problem. It is hard to remove ones vested interest at their level with what to expect. People wish list like crazy in these forums when the spark of a new army is hinted. Other than generating a lot of digital traffic it really doesn't do or mean anything. I thought the bug leg was Necromuda or at least leaning towards a Jabberslythe. I wouldn't compare rumour engines of one army to another. That's a sure fire way of being misled.
  12. I would run it to have fun. Warherd is my favourite way of playing Beasts of Chaos. If you are WAAC it will fall short. But if you get good with the army and learn the rules of the game you can play and do well with minimal changes. Perhaps a bit of chaff or some DrOgres or a Shaggoth to support. Personally I would just run your army as is at what, 1500 points? Warherd is awesome. If anyone saw Tyler Mengal's tweet today he compares the Dirgehorn Endless spell to one in the Rumour picture as quite close. I find it weird if BoC got a book after a WD release that gave them a significant boost.
  13. I've long wished for the Treelord to be what it was in 6th edition. Impossible to break as a stalwart defensive point. Such as -1 dmg or a -1 to Wound. Just some mechanic that it becomes harder to take down a treelord. One of the biggest things is it changes the entry-level for the game. Since prices are going up, reducing the cost of having to buy into an army is helpful. From GWs view if someone with enough casual hobby money to spend sees Sylvaneth as a buy-in with a Getting-Started or two gets a realistic buy-in, they will sell more armies. If with the cost increase you still have to buy a lot of stuff,... people won't jump at that. I still stand by that Sylvaneth are getting the long awaited Elf release akin to how Slaanesh got a significant Mortal release for their book. Kurnous as a large kit (akin to Glutos), then a cavalry kit (those centaur spear guys), and a bow/CC infantry kit. Possibly a Huntsmaster in some form (thinking of the Lion in the Shadespire release). Maybe a caster and infantry hero as well. If i had to bet Montgomery Burns for a coke, I would wager what I've said as the release.
  14. yeah okay well,.. glad he took it to town. I used that list in the summer and if you are reserved and attentive you surgically remove the threats in 5 turns. I haven't played lately though and not against the top tier lists. I couldn't speak about it vs the META. And tbh does that really matter other than a handful of people who play at those levels?
  15. That's his Gnarlroot list. I thought you meant there was something in the last week.
  16. HOw we How did the Sisters of the Thorn perform?
  17. Can you link one/two? I searched UT for "mathmallow" and "mathmallow aos" and didn't find anything recently. I also cannot seem to find his twitter account any longer. I read Oakenbrow the other night. I see nothing significant other than Treelords are a bit better and Dryads could be better.
  18. Dan in the UK, who won the Masters with a Tzeentch heavy BoC list, came back with a still fairly Tzaangor heavy BoC list and won a recent tournament last week. Glad to see this.
  19. Tree Revenant? Find someone who built Spite Revs. Sister of the Watch? Shadow Warriors? Eternal Guard sans helmet? Old Glade Guard heads? The hooded one? What about anything from any other plastic Elf range? Sorceress? Uh,.. man there have been and are so many. TBH any old Wood Elf Hero with a Spear is a fine model.
  20. Well the Kurnothi have been the expected other half of AoS-Wood Elves. The Falcon (40k Stats guy on Honest Wargamer often, and long time champion of Angela Lansbury) before lockdown said "Squats are coming, it's a fact" in a manner that made it... mmm and in a recent tweet really feel like they were expected earlier,.. but Covid and the continuing "global things" changed that. I wonder if Kurnothi would have been released by now. I guess we will see, well as Olaf says "in summer". On another front, Mathmallow went 5-0 in the UK with Oakenbrow. I'm not a twitch subscriber so I wasn't able to view the TSports broadcasts, anyone know what his list was? I know he pioneered the Alarielle,Bows and friends list early on in Gnarlroot. I wonder what was in Oakenbrown he made use of (God I hope it's 4 Treelords). Anyone know his list?
  21. Yeah I agree and I recall the Facehammer guys saying GW balanced the points at the time with the expectation there would be an open situation with Slaanesh pulling in from StD, etc. However,.. that doesn't make sense for why the internal balance is so bad. What was GW worried about, 3 Keepers and 90 Daemonettes plus Be'Lakor!?!?
