  1. This sounds interesting! Is that a thing? As does this! An army of Wolverines? Yes please! So if it wasn't Ogors and Gits (which it will be) then I would love to see the Grot Sky Pirates. They've been mentioned quite frequently in the fluff and the sky's the limit (GEDDIT) for the minis and theme. Would be so cool. The other one would be Drogrukh (Kragnos's kin), he still has the keyword on his warscroll but it currently does nothing. In the fluff they've died out but if they wanted to do the army they could easily shoe-horn them back in with some superficial justification, like they did with Morathi and dragons. But yeah. It'll be Ogors and Gits. I just hope they're good.
  2. I reckon I'd go with the Mantrappers personally, a deepstriking threat is always super valuable. Just remember to start the goons off the board with the big fella, and you can autoscore Aggressive Expansion (the cat doesn't count, because it's not part of your starting army). The nice thing is they count as 6 models on objectives (Hrothgorn himself is 2, plus 3 goons and a cat) so you can steal from a unit of 5 (including a Monster) if they leave room for you to land on the point. Nice little kit to paint too. That's what I'd do 🙂
  3. Even leaving aside the Totem thing, having an extra General would still be useful for the extra CP, right?
  4. Yeah nice...you reckon you had him on toast if you got prio?
  5. Yeah he ignores way more than half the spells cast, it's only the likes of Longstrikes and Sentinels that really prey on him ("only", he says). I like your list @Belmail and well done on the result! I don't know if you saw my own list above but an earlier version of that was very much like yours...I ended up rolling the Maniaks into beefed up Battleline to deny Battle Tactics, but it would play pretty similarly I think. Glad to hear you've had success with yours, that definitely encourages me to keep working on my additional Boarboys! Still need to finalise whether I'm going with the Boarboys or the Maniaks though. How did your game play out vs SCE? Who had the drop, and what did you both do turn 1? @Lord Krungharr I do think there's a Drakkfoot army in there too, maybe more of a specialist build for teams? I played a few games with this one locally which follows a very similar logic to yours, it didn't exactly set the world alight tbh but it could have a lot of game in certain matchups I think: Loads of wounds, loads of screens, loads of threats, a bit of fun with chain-activating SBBs (who also bump up your BS unit count for Trackers) and a couple of Lazer Eyes. I don't know that it's "better" than Icebone Kragnos, but it's got its own charms.
  6. Alright here's a Kraggy list for ya: All your Battleline units are hard to kill (especially with the 4++), the Spiders are there as a mobile screen that won't give away Battle Tactics and you have the "Other @Shirtripper Special" Fast Un Weirdnob General. You've also got the Bridge there to catapult Kraggy into the backfield, via the slippery Weirdnob. Whaddya reckon? And what Grand Strategy and Triumph would you go for?
  7. Sooooooooo... Kraggy with Bonesplitterz? Or.... Kraggy with Squigs?
  8. Nah that's exactly where I'm at with him, I like the model and I want to play him, if I can find a list I'm happy with. I personally find that any list I put him in looks really lightweight and about one hammer unit short, which isn't so much him about him being overcosted as the need to take a lot of other expensive pieces in any army he goes in. Another issue I have is that I love his rerollable Redeploy, but in Big Waaagh you're probably not running that many Kruleboyz units. I'd have loved that to be army wide, like Gordrakk and Kragnos, to give him a real home in Big Waaagh which fits the fluff. So I guess the TLDR is that I'm currently a bit stumped on how best to use him, but I'll be keeping a close eye on what you guys come up with!
  9. @Malakree @Jabbuk can I ask why you like Gobby so much in Big Waaagh? Is it purely for the +1 to cast, unbind and dispell? Or is there more to it than that?
  10. FWIW if I was to run the KB at an event this weekend, my list would probably look like this: Allegiance: Kruleboyz- Warclan: Big Yellers- Grand Strategy: Hold the Line- Triumphs: InspiredLeadersSnatchaboss on Sludgeraker Beast (315)*- General- Command Trait: Egomaniak- Artefact: Mork's Eye Pebble- Mount Trait: Fast 'UnSwampcalla Shaman with Pot-grot (105)*- Lore of the Swamp: Choking MistSwampcalla Shaman with Pot-grot (105)*- Lore of the Swamp: Nasty HexKillaboss on Great Gnashtoof (170)Battleline9 x Man-skewer Boltboyz (360)*- Reinforced x 220 x Gutrippaz (360)*- Reinforced x 120 x Gutrippaz (360)*- Reinforced x 13 x Man-skewer Boltboyz (120)*Units10 x Hobgrot Slittaz (80)*Core Battalions*Battle RegimentTotal: 1975 / 2000Reinforced Units: 4 / 4Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 150Drops: 2 You could easily chuck the Trogg in there (especially with Supa Sneaky), but I think you need that Battleshock protection more with this build unfortunately. I'm pretty open minded on Grand Strategies, which ones have been working for you guys?
  11. Glad to hear the army's going well for you @Sangfroid and cool to see someone running Gobby! Have you found that one Shaman is enough?
  12. It's a shame the subfactions are so poor, because that's where a lot of the listbuilding variety can come in with other armies. That and the Battleline situation put a bit of a ceiling on how much fun you can have mucking around with Kruleboyz lists. They need a full suite of new subfactions, anti-shooting tech that's fit for purpose ("cannot be targeted" instead of "is not visible to"), a new Battleline cavalry option, and points drops on Gutrippaz to revitalise the army. Only that last one is even remotely likely in the foreseeable future, but right now I'd settle for it.
  13. Yeah I've ran Kraggy more than most in 3rd Ed (with Squigs in my case), but my big question mark over him was how well he plays into a Longstrike meta (I never had to play against em with Kraggy). Rapt to see that Calvin could navigate a way through that matchup!
  14. Excellent write up @Shirtripper although I am of course wildly biased! Must admit, you've got me including the Maniak Weirdnob in my lists now. He was always the thing that got cut before when I was trimming lists back below 2000. Now I am making a concerted effort to keep him in there!
  15. Congrats to @Shirtripper for the 4-1 on the weekend Well done mate!
  16. Can I ask what you see as being the four pillars? @EccentricCircle mentioned "rules, models, lore, etc" earlier in the discussion - are you adding @Overread's comment about distribution to those three? If so I totally agree - distribution and logistics is a major strength of GW as a business. I also play MCP (my main game currently) and to a lesser extent Legion, and I can tell you that product availability has had a massive negative impact on their growth even pre-Covid (Legion in particular - MCP was pretty much born into Covid so it's hard to say, but they've certainly had substantially less product availability than GW right through these challenging times). Having great control over their supply chain, including manufacturing in-house, is a real asset to GW. To those I'd probably add a fifth pillar of Install Base, because as has been said time and again, it's just so much easier to plug into a community for GW games, and once you do, your mates keep you there. Being market leader is self-perpetuating in a relatively small community like ours. I guess the first three influence what you want to play, and the latter two influence what you can play. In my own case, with the weighting across rules, models and lore, I find that Marvel comes out on top. But most of my mates play AOS, so I'm still playing that as well 🤷‍♂️
  17. You might even get lucky and find that the Hobgrots help you transition from one to the next, when the time is right
  18. Sadly not, it requires the Ironsunz keyword which he doesn't have And furthermore is an Allegiance ability, which he as Warmaster cannot benefit from So that's a no However - he will give your Ironjawz 3D6" when they use that CA, so it's still cash money (same applies to hero phase charges with Mighty D for that matter)
  19. FWIW my honest opinion is that this whole thing is really not that bad, with the caveat that it is of course easy for me to say when I'm unaffected in Australia But in answer to your question - and having played both of those (great) games - MCP would be my suggestion. It's fun The models are bright and streamlined, so it's a nice change for painting Coupling it with a Marvel Unlimited sub on your tablet adds a lot to it (e.g. reading up on characters you like in the game - I also sub to WHU and I can tell you quite quickly which one gets more use) It's well designed You don't have to worry about save-stacking or coherency You have a lot more ways to interact with your opponent's models than just killing them Like any game it has its flaws, but I'm really enjoying it. Major caveats are that the community is currently far smaller where I am at least, and as @Grimrock pointed out they have been crippled with supply issues. It has not replaced AOS for me - and in my case never will - but it's certainly dominating my event plans these days, and it's muscled my Kruleboyz off the painting table and back onto the shelf.
  20. I think the stronger way to build would be Bloodtoofs: You could fit in a Warchanter and 12 Pigs Not sure I'd bother with a dedicated caster, but you could always take Arcane Tome and Master of Magic Alternatively Ironsunz is fun because the countercharging mechanic really changes the shape of the game, and you'll get 3D6 on the counter charge with Kraggy around So if it's a fun gaming day, and you want to give the Brutes a hit out, I reckon I'd run something like this: Alternative would be a Kill Crusha, with Mean 'Un and Destroyer 🙂
  21. Coupla Gits lists in here that you guys might be interested in 👍 https://wp.me/pbbohv-1FV
  22. Latest blog post has a Splitterz list that might be of interest to some of you 👍 https://plasticcraic.blog/2022/01/28/revealing-missions-in-event-packs-yay-or-nay/
  23. Cool idea @Lord Krungharr, I just wonder whether you might want to rethink the 6? It looks an awful lot like a 2, especially if you're gonna be chucking a lot of them about
