  1. Nice use of those bits on the conversions What are you gonna use the bro riding the oldschool boar as? That boar looks so much better with that rider than the original.
  2. Thanks for the game Chris, and for bearing with me as I blew the cobwebs of, a few hectic months without playing and i'd reverted to 8th edition going straight to the movement phase! As requested there are pics of my army here, though my photo skills are not the best and its far more a painting log than the level of detail Chris goes into here (which is phenomenal to see): It was a good game and good me for to see what my units do (only being my 4th game with the army) and what the Ironjawz can (or can't ) do. It was also great to see more of your army, having not seen the MC in the flesh before I was blown away, great scheme and execution. I agree with you that the BOK match up isn't great for IJ, as i said last night if GW are going to make armies like IronJawz pure combat they should be able to be the best combat army in the game, an unfortunately a lot of the Khorne units seem to out combat them, helped of course now by the new allegiance abilities etc. It struck me that the book was perhaps written before they had fully decided on how they wanted special rules to work in AOS, the goregruntas charge ability only working from 8" away rather than when rolled over an 8, and the warchanter only affecting your turns for example. You don't see those limitations of rules on the more recent stuff. I think as you say the biggest decider of the game was you not taking 1st turn, but knowing the Khorne match up as you do I completely understand why you were hesitant to barrel forward with everything. The terrain certainly didn't help you either, being mystical and the size of it making it hard for you to manoeuvre the Megabrutes (which were scary to see in action when they got in there). I think there could be some mileage in the pigs with the objective as they did take some shifting, even with the number of units i threw at them, I think the biggest problem is the low model count though, with only 3 pigs in a unit they are easy to out number on a objective. I'll definately be down again sometime soon, thanks to @Paul Buckler for having me, maybe next time we get a game i'll bring the beastmen as i haven't completely given up hope on making them work yet. cheers, Ben
  3. Wolves it will be, but far from the list i'd like to run under the new book, need to get building some more models myself. Loving the Gore Grunta conversions, especially the 2 hand weapons dude, reminiscent of the savage orruk boar boys. I love the fact you are taking the time to make sure all you models are unique from each other. I was bowled over by the Ironjawz when they were released but the thing that is always held me back from starting them, and appreciating the army as much as i should when i see it on the tables is the limited model range and poses, but you've more than overcome that. I especially like the conversions you started of the bloodbowl orcs to Ard boyz, a great re-imagining of the unit. i think the mournfang cav horn could be a nice conversion piece for the Gruntas, especially if you are doing banners, to finish a command team.
  4. Still not sure what to do about the Slaughterpriests heads, so I've put them to one side for now. I've instead managed to finish by Khorgorath though, using a Mierce Miniatures model. This was a pleasure to paint, super detailed model. Only a very slight conversion on this, changing the tail for that of a Thunderwold to hopefully tie it in to those models a bit more. As a bit of a side project I was inspired by @Killax post in the Chaos forums where he made some custom BOK blood blessing cards. These looked amazing but of course don't go with my take on a Bloodbound army, so I will be making my own version as well as a smaller version of the BOK battletome that suits my theme. Here's my first double page from the book using the fluff from my original post:
  5. These are amazing, do you know what size to print for them to fit in standard card sleeves?
  6. thanks for the positive comments. I forgot to say in my previous post that there's no dead grass tufts on those models as i ran out (will add soon). With the new book my list has changed to drop the 9 skin wolves as they can't be marked Khorne, so they are now on eBay unfortunately as they are great models. I'm also working on another 20 blood reavers to replace my marauders in the list along with a warshrine and 2 slaugtherpriests. For once i have actually remembered to get some WIP shots to stick up. Currently i'm trying to get 3 slaughterpriests built and painted, though one will end up on top of my warshrine when its finished. These have been converted using Space wolve terminator legs with the lower legs replaces with blood warrior boots/knee/thigh pads. Then various marauder and wulfen torsos with various furred cloaks. First up is the priest that will be atop my Khorne warshrine: Next up is my slaughterpriest with hackblade and wrathhammer. The Wrathhammer represented by the bone claw similar to my wrathmongers. I actually swapped the head on this straight after taking the photo to one that is similar to my warshrine priest as i felt the head pictured was too space wolfy (though i might use in on a character later down the line that has less space wolf parts to it). Would be interested to here if people think the space wolf head pictured works ok on the priest though? Finally i have my slaughterpriest with great axe. I think i am going to have to swap the head on this guy also as although i love the head the movement of the model is wrong, his hair is flowing in the opposite direction to the cloak, do you think its noticeable?
  7. ***UPDATED WITH WIP*** So it's been a while but I've had a hectic couple of months with a change of Job. I have still found some time for Hobby though and have some more pics to prove it. firstly I managed to get the full 1k painted for the partners in Chaos tournament in Feb and was lucky enough to get a painting nomination, although admittedly was never in the running for an award as the level of painting at the event was amazing and was taken out by @Ian Gilmore fantastic ironjawz army (I suggest you check them out on twitter if you haven't already). i had to drop out of the Tomorrow Burns event but have just finished the army I would have taken only a couple of weeks late. first up we have the Lord of Khorne on Juggernaught, who will be my general going forward. This guy is converted from a mournfang with the head and tail of a thunder wolf and lots of free stuff. next up up is a unit of 6 Skullcrushers to accompany him. and then hen finally I finished my first unit of 10 Bloodwarriors currently im working on another 20 bloodreavers, 2 x slaughterpriests and a warshirne. Hopefully get them done and on here asap.
  8. Thanks Guys, hopeully will have some more pics very soon. ive finished (bar snow basing) 10 converted blood warriors and am very close to finishing 6 juggers and a juggerlord, however my time has been sapped by the rediscovery of my PS4 and a copy of the Witcher 3...

  11. I've had a few questions in the gallery section asking how I made the Duardin Steamtank. i thought I'd post it in here so I can include pics: @Warboss Gorbolg @Thundercake @Dez @Double Misfire Its actually made made using a cheap resin tank model from WW1 I think: On top top is the Dwarf ship from dread fleet Obviously both have signifanct cutting and green stuffing. I then just added to it with lots of gyro copter bits and bits I had left over from an old empire commission. sorry I didn't take any WIP photos (something I need to get better at)
  12. Looks like burnt black flesh around the eyes and an iron suit of armour, sounds like Malekith?
