  1. A new year means a new General's Handbook, but this year we see some fairly large shakeups to the formula we may have been used to. With the new edition of the game, the General's Handbook has taken on a completely new style closer to what 40k has had for the last year, and I'm a big fan!View the full article
  2. Skin I base coat the skin with Ahriman Blue. This is then shaded with watered down Stegadon Scale Green directly in the recesses. Tidy up with Ahriman Blue. First layer of Ahriman Blue plus a little Screaming Skull. Cover most of the raised skin with this. Add in more Screaming Skull and do 2-3 more layers, getting more refined with each one. Scales Base coat the scales with Kantor Blue. Paint in the recesses with Leviadon Blue as well as shade a bit of the bottom half of each scale with it. Highlight with Macragge Blue(?), more refined highlight with Calgar Blue(?). Dot highlight with Blue Horror. (Maybe The Fang was used to highlight instead?) Crest Base coat with Blue Horror. Shade with Ahriman Blue, tidy up with Blue Horror. Highlight by mixing in white. Leather Base coat with Rhinox Hide, shade with Nuln Oil, highlight with Gorthor Brown then Baneblade Brown. Feathers Base coat with Corax White. Coat entire thing with dilluted Iyanden Yellow. Blend in Orange contrast on top and Warpstone Glow contrast on bottom. Highlight with white mixed with a bit of yellow (?) Base Mossy ground is base coated with Militarum Green. Mix in a bit of Elysian Green in spots to make it more uneven. Shade with Athonian Camoshade. Highlight with Elysian Green. Mix in Screaming Skull for brighter highlights in spots. Plants are base coated with Elysian Green, shaded with Ork Flesh, and tidied up with Elysian. Highlight by mixing in Screaming Skull(?) Rocks are base coated with Dawnstone. Shaded with Nuln Oil, then highlighted with Dawnstone, followed by Grey Seer. Do splotches of Athonian Camoshade for moss effect. View the full article

  4. When I started on the Stormcast Eternals from Dominion I knew I wanted to give them some unique basing. The main idea is that they're stationed in Lethis in Shyish, so something dark and Death like, but I didn't want to just replicate the same basing as my Death armies. Enter the Dark Marble scheme!View the full article

  8. With the Kruleboyz set to join the party soon I thought I would take a quick look back at the other wholly unique armies to AoS. The definition of what a wholly unique army to AoS is may vary from person to person, so I apologize if I left any off the list. So, how do these brand new additions to the game rank against each other?View the full article
