  1. The new Maggotkin of Nurgle book is finally here! This was the oldest non-updated Battletome still out there, and also one of my favorite armies in AoS, so I was very excited to crack it open and check it out. I ended up writing so much about it that I'm actually doing a first here at Mengel Miniatures, splitting the review in two. This first part of the review is going to be covering all of the rules, while my second part, coming in a few days, will cover the lore and the Path to Glory section.View the full article
  2. Warcry turns 3 this year, and with it we get another new starter set in the form of Red Harvest. Just like its predecessors you get two warbands, a whole bunch of scenery, a rulebook, a game board, and everything else you would need to play the game. Both of the warbands and the scenery are brand new to this box though, and one of which I am super excited to see a full kit for! So, let's delve into the box and see what exactly you reap in this harvest.View the full article
  3. The first of the 3rd edition Battletomes are here in the form of the Orruk Warclans and the Stormcast Eternals. Today I'm delving into the green menace of the mortal realms in the form of the Warclans, but I will also be review format and rules changes in general with the two book and the transition to a new edition.View the full article

  6. While I played what was then the Lord of the Rings game back in the early 2000s when the movies were coming out, it's been at least 16 years since I've taken a serious look at the game. Now my will has finally broken and I've decided to take the plunge yet again into Middle-Earth.View the full article

  12. With a new edition of Age of Sigmar now out in the world, that also means new Battletomes are approaching, and with them, hopefully new models! Destruction is king of the hill this edition, so I figured I would take a look at what units I would like to see new models for in the rowdiest Grand Alliance.View the full article

  15. I'm a sucker for new paints, so there was no doubt that I was going to be picking up the three new colors that came out alongside AoS3! As with most of the newer paints recently, they are themed around a certain release, in this case the forces of Destruction. So how do these new paints feel and what options do they bring us?View the full article

  17. With the new Stormcast Eternals stuff coming out soon I figured it would be a good time to revisit one of my painting tutorials for them. This method uses Contrast Paint with some metallics and highlights to get a quick and good looking Anvils of the Heldenhammer Stormcast. Although this is used on one of the Sacrosanct models, it will work just as well on the new Thunderstrike armored minis coming out!View the full article

  19. The moment I came across this army on Instagram I was blown away. Manel has made such an evocative looking Mechanicus army using a variety of models, amazing conversions, and a seriously sharp looking color scheme. Not only that, but his photos of the models with their scenic backgrounds are stunning! I knew right away that I had to ask him to share his models and his thoughts behind them here on Mengel Miniatures.View the full article

  21. Today I have a special guest interview with Rob Hawkins, the master of miniature architecture! You may recognize his iconic Death scenery, or his detail rich tables for other games like Star Wars Legion and Wild West Exodus, or even from White Dwarf magazines from the early 2000s. Wherever you know his work from, one thing is always true; its astounding!View the full article

  23. Sometimes I just sit around and think about what models I would love to see for AoS in the future, I'm sure we all do it from time to time. Well, I figured why not put together a short article on what Death models I would most like to see made.View the full article
