I get it, that is a valid concern, over complexity can kill a game. From my 40k experience most lists are geared to use 3-4 stats, so it does not get too bad. It will be interesting how they alter command points in the new 40K edition (they indicated they were altering how you generate them). It might give us an insight into possible command point changes for AOS in the future.

I have loved 40k’s stratagem system and would loved to see it implemented in AOS. It would take some tweaking but I have always found the command point system too limited and constricting.

I ran across these pretty awesome vampire minis from TitanForge. They release the 3D printing files for them as part of their Patreon service. Has anyone had any experienced with them? I would love to see some of the actual models.

After grinding through a bunch of Spirit Hosts and Grimghast Reapers, this month I am going to reward myself with some heroes. Got a Guardian Of Souls, a Spirit Of Torment and a Knight Of Shrouds prepped and ready to go. If I get some extra time I hope to start the big ghost Lady herself.

Got my 15 Grimghast Reapers done. Have really enjoyed finally getting through some of my ghosty boys.

Was working on my test model for my Grimghast Reapers. I wanted to match them up with my Spirit Hosts. My first one, on the left, came out dark. I liked the contrast of the dark colors but it does clashes a bit. The second one, on the right, came out lighter. I like it but maybe a bit flat. What do you guys think?

I know most other posters have liked option 2, but I have to say I am in the total opposite camp and just love option 1. I think I just love the Flayer kit soooo much that those wings just speak to me. Either choice is a good one though. Great project keep the pics coming.

Thx, I have had a blast working on them. The Hosts are my first painted ghost models, though this month I am hoping to jam through a chunk of Grimghasts. I am trying to do the scheme Israel Gonzalez showed off in White Dwarf a little while ago. I know I will not get to his insane level but I am giving it a go.

I have been working in magenta a lot lately and have fallen in love with this Scalecolor purple. Just a fantastic hue.

I disagree with the idea that Death has too many subfactions. I think the direction is to go the other way and expand more into the subfactions. I have always contended that the narrative problem with Death was that it was too Nagash focused. There is no narrative tension, we need some other Death figures that can challenge him for control within the narrative, then you break off factions from there. I think FEC is the classic example here. Bring back the Carrion King and have him lead a "grand crusade" against Nagash, then flesh out the FEC with a few good units. Keep a group of factions under Nagash, OBR, Nighthaunt and probable a general death faction similar to LoN and then break off the rest, with Vampires being the other faction to jump ship and rebel. Then, also moving forward any new death releases don't have to be tied to Nagash and you can open up some more design space.

Great work, looks like a really fun project. Looking forward to seeing when it is done.

Got my Glow Rats our for a game today. Have finished painting most of the stuff just need to get my Stormfiends, some more acolytes and a few characters done. I will throw better pictures up in my blog when I get them complete.

I love the news that these new big guys can go into any army. I painted up this guy as proxy for my FEC army and now I can not wait to paint one of the big guys up like an insane cannibal "knight". Should be an awesome time.

I painted this guy some time ago to serve as a Varghulf for my FEC. Now with the release of the big boy giants I might have to paint up one of the husky guys for my grand court. I really like that the new giants can go into any army, gives me some interest in an release I would have otherwise ignored entirely.

Absolutely love the conversions, I am a huge fan of the Cawdor sculpts. I have never wanted to do a boney boy army, but this makes one look tempting!!!!!
