  1. The mammoth pitched battle profile is forgeworld so unaffected by the new battletome. Also, the war mammoths volume is probably about equal to 3 lotr mammoks!
  2. I just hope they dont take away the marauders barbarian horde special rule I have been abusing for the passed couple weeks/months with Grashrek Fellhoof and Blades of putrefaction! REALLY looking forward to a whole slew of new options to use in my nurgle lists! I REALLY want knights to be REALLY good!
  3. So the plague frogs only block mortal wounds now. It was nerfed because in all honesty it was so ridiculously good and easily abusable. They are battleline in a Tamurkhans Horde army. There is no misprint regarding the allegiance. If you have an army with the NURGLE allegiance, you can also say it is allegiant to Tamurkhans horde and they GAIN that keyword and benefit from the allegiance abilities in addition to nurgle allegiance abilities. NURGLE keyword is not replaced. Here is the specific wording: Tam's Horde is good if you have an extra artefact to "throw away." Since you MUST use the artefact on the tamurkhans horde list first, its not worth it to not be able to take the Witherstave. But if you are running a battalion and can deal without the rustfang... the allegiance ability for -1 to enemy run and charge rolls is SO SO GOOD! It makes deepstrikers/summons/teleports charge on a 10" instead of 9"

  6. Just chiming in as a nurgle player praying the marauders warscroll (easy +1 to hit mechanic) isn’t changed.. for purely selfish reasons. But the point is understood about using std units in a god specific army. My current nurgle tournament list uses 80 marauders LOL
  7. Yes, a chaos sorcerer lord is great because not only is his spell dope, but also gives mystic shield without having to cast it. Although Grashrek Fellhoof is becoming a favorite caster of mine! 18” range d3 mw and +1 to hit is really strong. I like him on a balewind for an extra cast, 24” savage bolt, and increased visibility. For only 20 points more then the CSL. Now that I’m building a list to EXPLOIT the fact that blightkings and blades is still a 6+ and not unmkdifed..prepping for lvo...they are def. going to yank it away from me in the winter faq... 😆
  8. I love the epitome in a nurgle army. And I think one in 1000 points is a strong option! The epitome REALLY shines if you play with realm spells because some of them are broken as hell and it can cast two of them with RR! If a game is not being used in the realms with access to the spell lore, I usually dont include it. The RR 1s to hit is nice but perhaps not worth for me.
  9. I'd rather just normal pipped dice with a cool faction symbol on the 6. Thats it. No need for dancing skeletons holding up 3 fingers for a "3." Or tipping his top hat holding two fingers for a "2." No need to have a roll of a "4" be an engraving of the mortarch adjusting his codpiece of fury. I wish I could have 30 or 40 of the nurgle blood bowl dice. They are perfect. Chessex wont use any obvious GW symbology on their dice anymore. As I did buy this set and dont have a nurgle team in my blood bowl collection I use them as my AoS nurgle army's casting dice and for priority rolls.
  10. Got beat up pretty bad by my buds sylvaneth for the first game. Its a tough army to learn against but I dont mind! The incantor and the comet were so clutch though. Stopped him from making a full kurnoth hunter, then dropped the comet right around his wizard enclave and decimated them. Forced him to move.. except for the general on the balewind which had to either dispel it or keep taking damage. Was super good. Loved the big block of riggers with brokk as an alpha strike. But I also understand I wont have the choice to go first a lot of the time. If I hadnt whiffed HARD the riggers would have crippled his 6 sword kurnoth hunters. Any opinions on if a Mhornar Iron Sky Squadron is competitive? Perhaps with a Lord ordinator? The list I wanted to run 30/30/10 arkanuats, 2 frigates, 9 riggers, 2 khemist is over by 10 lousy points!!!!!!
  11. @EssexMat NICE LOOKING MINIS!! And a great well rounded list. I think favored poxes spell is the best of the demon lores. I cant think of a time having -1 to hit wound and save is a bad thing on a unit! Both offensive and defensive. But if you have a fast moving opposing army or an army that has a lot of fly, or a beatstick unit that flies... Glorious afflictions is a great control spell. As for artefacts, if you have a nurgle demon hero, the artefact to give them is the witherstave. It is in the conversation for best artefact in the entire game. Tome of 1000 poxes is ok. so is The endless gift on a GUO. But the witherstave is simply to good to not choose.

There is ZERO way to boost casting for any rotbringer wizard. the only ways to boost casting for any nurgle wizard are the GUO bileblade, and the Tome of 1000 poxes artefact for nurgle demon wizards. You are correct that its unreliable. I'm willing to roll the dice with an incredibly high ceiling of damage since I can also tank a fair amount of damage while sitting on objectives. I use it as almost a defensive ability.. that anything that comes near me will get bladed up! Dreadmund nailed it. I will also add the Splithorn helm will also continue to stack with Mystical terrain, and the Harbinger's Command ability Morbid vigor which gives out a 5+ damage prevention roll (DPR)., and any other DPR you may come across. Also keep in mind Splithorn Helm is a Rotbringer artefact and not a demon artefact. So it wont ever stack with Disgustingly resilient as ONLY demons have that ability. But it does stack with any other DPRs.
  13. Yup! Harbinger (witherstave, grandfathers blessing), spume, Glott (blades), Grashrak Fellhoof, 10 kings, 10 kings, 40 marauders, 20 bestigors, extra cp.
  14. 16 people showed up for the tournament (run by Oscar Lars.) in Richmond, Virginia on Sunday. I ended up winning the damn thing! Faced a squig heavy gitz army on focal points, competitive bladegheist heavy nighthaunt (2nd best nighthaunt player on ITC) on border war and in the final game a ..trogg army?! Yup! That was on possibly his worst mission ..scorched earth. (3x 5 fellwater troggs, troll hag, troggboss and 2x dankholds and the troggherd! ) Was pleased as punch to get the ITC points, moving me up to 17th overall and firmly in control of the top nurgle ranking for the season. Was hoping the bestigors would be a better independent hammer. Something I could put on a flank with a natural run and charge mechanic and use Grashrek as a propolsion system. Slam into something, take an objective and divert attention. They did OK. They die REALLY easy especially because Im usually using my IP command on marauders. So maybe I need to temper my expectations. Certainly not giving up on them. hitting on 4s is rough. I'm usually charging either kings and them. Or maruaders and them. So they always get hit before they can swing. Wish I had room for the wildfire taurus. Thinking of dropping them in favor of another unit of maruaders LOL. Perhaps a balewind for Fellhoof and the controrted epitome. 6 casts?! LOL going to experiment for sure but Glott's back on the menu boys! The maruaders getting Bladed up, +1 attack and +2 to hit is effing insane. 81 attacks potential, hitting on 2s, RR 1s, mortals on 4s. LOL. I know they are going to do unmodified 6s for blades.... but until then WEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
  15. Probably because nobody fields them. So the sample size is tiny. If you can afford to "throw away" an artefact.. -1 to run and charge rolls for the opponent is BRUTAL! It also replaces Inspiring presence with a MUCH better version of it. And another +1 to run rolls in an army chock full of run and charge is REALLY good.

I dont think epidemius is particularly competetive, so swapping him and festus for the GUO who can provide a 75% increase in base speed to the blightkings, double caster. synergy with blight cyst and rustfang (favored poxes) and a caster with a casting/unbinding range is a legit choice. Also make him the general and give him the witherstave to take the target off the harbinger. Also provide bigger AOE for the witherstave. Ive always been tempted to use the Tamurkhans horde sub allegiance. It seems really really strong with the -1 to run and charge rolls, making outflanking/summoning/deepstriking a 10" charge is REALLY strong. plus the required command trait is a further speed boost with great synergy with the trees. The REAL downside is you essentially have to throw away an artefact as the required artefact is horrid, once per battle MW ability. Given you have a battalion you can still keep the witherstave. I PERSONALLY think its competitive because its counter meta. But I dont think its overtly powerful... if you see what I'm saying. Also I perfer to run my kings in large groups. Its easier to string a couple kings out and cover more ground but still tagging one or two with the harbinger to get the morbid vigor buff on the entire unit. But Im also usually running a blob of marauders to bump my body count up a bit so I can afford to reduce the number of units that can cover objectives. Good luck in the event!   21. This video will explain what happens when you dont thin your paints, and how to do it. This is gospel in mini painting bibles! Also if you are new to painting minis, consider using contrast paints from Games Workshop as a way to get a good looking army on the table and expand your use of base, layers, shades, glazes and more advanced techniques as you progress in the hobby!
  22. @LordQuadly Nice collection of minis you have there! There is LOTS of build philosophy and list talk in the recent pages. It helps all of us if you give us more information like which models you WANT to use or types of armies you like to play. I myself will be bringing this list to a 3 round one day tournament on sunday in Richmond VA. Unfortunately its a margin of victory event which I REALLY don't like but atleast its good practice for LVO and potentially some ITC points if I do well! The plan is to use Glott and my somewhat amorphous list to adapt to the opponents list. He can cast Blades on either the maruaders of the Bestigors depending on target. Both have a +1 to hit mechanic on the warscroll. Fell hoof can add another so that would generate mortals on 4s! If I cast on the maruaders, I can use Glotts command to have them swing with 81 attacks, potentially hitting on 2s RR1s doing mortals on 4s!! Even if Blades doesnt go off, I can save Glotts command point for an IP and try to double thier wounds and give them a 5++ to create an immovable tarpit. Bestigors even as allies can take Fleshy abundance and double their wounds! Spume and 10 kings do their thing, while the other ten kings protect the harbinger, glott and tag objectives. Having a pocket CP should the Maruaders or goats get into trouble! Or allow me to double up and use both command abilities.     Wow! Amazing list @Dracan!! Make sure to post in the nurgle tactics thread. Looks like it could do some real damage!!! Watch out for being short on CP for an inspiring presence of the monks get counter attacked! Centigor models are hard to find but can be converted from marauder horseman and gor bodies. Perhaps consider dropping the sorc lord for a cp, the wildfire Taurus and a good shot at a triumph! But overall nice list man.

    The problem with 3xfold is that the damage comes primarily from spells, and other armies out there can utterly dominate the magic phase. Tz, Gits, Slaanesh (to an extent), LoN Sylvaneth.. so it can be an uphill batlle. In a tournament metaphor 3xFold is a "3-2 army". You are probably going to win more then you lose, but cant realistically win a 5 round event or dominate your local meta. Its a great army to collect, paint and is a TON OF FUN though! I think a few FAQ chnages could keep nurgle chugging along for QUITE some time. blightkings proccing their blighted weapons rule on an unmodified 6 would be a huge buff. Plaguebearers should be reduced in points to 100/270 among a mriad of other points reductions. Nurgle wont be getting a new book for a while so hang on tight and adapt to the meta. Here is a punchy list I'm going to try out. Im worried about the new Bonesplittas mechanic to ignore DPR. I can see how that emchanic will become more maintstream and might have to shift away from harbinger but going to stay on course.
