  1. Oh c'mon. If the power level stays the same I won't even bother buying new book. I'm pretty tired of Sylvaneth being in the bottom 5 armies all the time. GW showed it can put some effort if it wants to. I'm thinking Tau. In the previous edition it was the worst faction in most rankings. Now it hits the top. Time they did the same with Sylvaneth, Gloomspite, Nighthaunt and Chaos mortals armies.
  2. Is Alarith list still a thing or not? How does it compare to other Lumineth builds?
  3. Do we have any leaks of what these two factions for summer battletomes are? Order and Chaos.
  4. Sadly I agree with these points. For now I only want to respond to: "2. Rules bloated. It sometimes takes more than 4 books / releases to have all of the rules together." It's getting worse and worse. It might be ok for someone who plays only one army and already knows most of the rules by heart. The madness increases with each additional army. Then you have a situation where army A has rules spread across Battletome, General's Handbook (endless spells), White Dwarf nr 467 and Broken Realms Kragnos and latest errata. Army B to be played in full needs the Battletome, GHB, White Dwarf nr 471, Broken Realms Teclis and the errata. Army C... I'm in this actual position. It's a pain to return to an army you haven't been playing for a while. Finding all the stuff, then searching for rules during my games across several different books is a pain and I end up with some rules overlooked or played against the rules. I've had such a game with my Ossiarch Bonereapers last weekend. It took me way more time to search for the rules than plan my strategy. I appreciate that GW has started to update factions more frequently but I'm afraid current method doesn't work. What I suggest is to bring all the rules online into one file. It's ok if it's not free. I think it would be even better to make it some kind of subscription or even better to link it with Warhammer+. And this way subscribers would have all the information in one place and updated several times a year.
  5. Does anybody know if it is possible to build a full unit of 10 Sentinels when buying two boxes of WarCry warband? I mean is it possible to make 5 bow models? Or is the bird guy the only possible build for him in the box?
  6. Dramatic situation of Fyreslayers. You know what they need to become more popular? A hero on foot model!
  7. Can't agree. I've been asked several times by my friends to start a 40k army. I had two attempts and both ended in conceding. Firstly I was into Drukhari but than saw how awfully aged most of the models are. Same goes for majority of armies. They really deserve some fresh minis. It's the first time I really think I will start one army - Eldar. If they are supported by something more than a hero and avatar that is. Almost all AoS armies have modern looking models. We are like years ahead in terms of acceptable models.
  8. I'd say that the lady with the whip is a Necromunda model.
  9. +1 bravery to own units or -1 bravery to enemy units
  10. I'm sure Fyreslayers need that 9th hero much more than they would need a fourth unit...
  11. Pathetic to be honest. Couldn't imagine less effort from GW.
  12. I'm delighted that GW listened to our advice. I asked for rules update online on this forum since I remember. Warscrolls and points. Very happy to see this coming.
  13. Yeah of course but some people just play AoS for fun and/or painting minis, not to win all the time. Regarding the table I have THREE out of SIX worst factions (Gloomspite, Nighthaunt and BoK... nice score, right?) and still have a lot of fun from AoS. My best army is place 13th - Sylvaneth, which still is bad. 😄 I'm in the middle of painting Tzeentch but it's Mortal focused so it doesn't count. 😉
  14. @Neil Arthur Hotep There will always be some exceptions. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. 😉 But during a given period of time we see the same armies on top most of the time. It might be the same players all the time, as they often switch to what is currently "meta" to give themselves advantage and have higher chances of winning. When I was following some of local tournaments results I saw it all the time. One player was playing DoK when they were best, then switched to eel spam and then again to Lumineth. Always chasing the "meta", always giving himself an advantage over others.
  15. Exactly. These are the players who win despite the odds, not thanks to them. Also winning with underperforming armies tastes much, much better than defeating your opponent with eel, sentinel or whatever other spam that is currently taking advantage from rules. The latter is just that - giving yourself an advantage.
  16. It's not the skill that wins tournaments. It's a list of miniatures that currently is the best possible combination under present set of rules. You asked the wrong question. It's not why "the same good players" win tournaments. It's why always the same good armies win tournaments. If it was about skill then we would see the whole spectrum of armies winning games. Why aren't Beasts of Chaos, Gloomspite Gitz or Nighthaunt winning tournaments? Is it just a coincidence that good players keep away from them? Unfortunately not. I'd say 50% of your chances to win is the army you play. 25% is if you take advantage of current rules and how many imbalanced units you put on the list. Another 25% is skill. Look how many "good players" switch from army to army just when the edition/battletome change. There were several armies that had sine wave interest of players just as their rules changed. Kharadron Overlords, Hedonites of Slaanesh, Tzeentch... That's what wins games.
  17. I did and it encourage everyone to do same unless you play tournaments. The game is now waaay more acceptable and even. One double turn can easily break a game completely. To be hones, I think GW is afraid to admit that the Double Turn is a total miss and want to keep it as long as possible but eventually they will remove it.
  18. Definitely checking Vince's video. To be honest what drags me most into Soulblight are the zombies because of their variation between models. I have some experience in painting skeletons since I have like 3000 points of Ossiarch Bonereapers painted. 😉 What are the best heroes to pair them with Zombie and Skeleton centered army?
  19. @Neil Arthur Hotep@Sception Wow, thank you Guys for these comprehensive tutorials. I really appreciate that. I'm still on the fence wether to buy two boxes or just one. New Soulblight models are really tempting. I might sell one Vengorian lord. But do I really need ONE HUNDRED TWENTY small models to paint? I probably wouldn't paint it until year 2030. And that doesn't take into account other models. I will take something from both advices while building my list. Thanks!
  20. Can somebody post a list or two where to go from this box? I'm probably getting it. Defenitely would like a zombie and skeletons focused army. Is it worth buying two of these boxes?
  21. Silent people could have a caste system based on their evolution. Like backbone of the army are ant-like humanoid bugs seen on Underworlds cards. The higher caste could be more human-like specimen like the one seen for WarCry. Maybe some insect only creatures with no humanoid features to be monsters and/or mounts tamed by higher castes. As for the Spiderfang... If these truly are Silent People with strong spider theme then Spiderfang is dead in terms of new models imho. There is no space for two spider themed armies. Oh and as for spider - insect distinction. It might be a language thing but in Polish the word "insect" is used to name all the bugs, where spiders (arachnids) are only one group among insects. In other words: all spiders are insects, but not every insect is a spider. And thus maybe spider-like humanoids are only one caste of Silent People.
  22. Unless I missed something while scrolling through the posts I can't believe nobody mentioned Silent People. If this is not a specimen of them, I don't know what is.
  23. My friend told me that there was a two weeks long break in new animations on Warhammer+. Is that true?
  24. I'd buy AoS Dreadfleet instantly... Like leaving AoS and Malifaux for a long while to play naval battles in AoS.
  25. As for my armies: Sylvaneth made again worse by limiting 1 wood per ability. Ossiarch Bonereapers made better by allowing them to use same CA several times. Kharadron Overlords without changes for my build. Nothing for Nighthaunt.
