  1. Hey everyone, Looking forward to the tournament this weekend! I had hoped to be taking my Fyreslayers along however a combination of staff sickness, end of year accounts and other boring things means I won't have my army done in time. However I should be around doing some hobby stuff. We are in the process of moving to a new website so have a new updated ticket link: https://athenagames.com/collections/event-tickets/products/age-of-sigmar-the-titans-tournament-5th-may Don't worry if you have already bought it a ticket, we already have you down!
  2. Sorry to hear that! Although it has all gone a bit mental here as well with the release of new edition of 40K as well so completely understand!
  3. The tournament is now less than a week away and there are still spaces for anyone wanting to attend! Everyone attending will receive a token that they can use as an objective marker, on top of all the prizes!
  4. Right, sorry for being quiet recently! My brother has been ill which meant double the work for me! Here is the 1st version of the rules pack, we may still make sure tweaks if we feel like there is something broken (Things like Tzeentch destiny dice): https://www.dropbox.com/s/6or2g60tax4vn54/Warhammer%20Doubles%20Rules.pdf?dl=0 Tickets are also available from the website: http://www.athenagames.com/catalog/tournament_entry/age_of_sigmar__the_orthrus_tournament__17th_june/311723
  5. That is correct, this is one rule we weren't sure about however because you can mix Grand Alliances between team mates, we weren't sure if this would potentially create something broken so having heroes only help their own Force rather than the whole Army seemed safest.
  6. It is indeed 17th. I had remembered to change the date everywhere except the title! Good spot!
  7. Tickets will be up soon for this event, however I will reserve a space for you both for now :). So to me, it seemed to be a trade off... I believe you could either have that both players must use the same Grand Alliance or just restrict the command abilities. Thematically I feel it fits as well, something that works on, say, orruks wouldn't necessarily work on humans. I am not saying that the ruleset that we have is in any way perfect for this one and I am expecting to may be have to make some house rules for a few things, such as around double Tzeentch armies and their destiny dice as an example. You can't have a stag do if you are already married... Seems a bit backwards! Awesome sounds good. I will be playing in this one however will throw up some pictures when I can! P.S Sorry for the late reply to everyone, I was away at a demo event for Runewars (An upcoming FFG game).
  8. Well I hope the wedding goes well. It would be great to see you at the tournament. If not, then I think we are currently looking at August for our next singles Age of Sigmar tournament.
  9. A lot of people are excited about the dwarfs and I like that they went all in on the design. So yes, you can probably expect a few players!
  10. I will be playing in this one, although not sure if I will be taking Ironjawz or the pirate dwarfs...

Battles are not just won by a single being, it is achieved by a group working together to achieve an overall goal. This is what the Orthrus tournament is here to honour as we welcome you to take part in a team based Age of Sigmar tournament. Each player in a team must select an army based upon the “Preparing Your Doubles Army” in our rules document. Only Warscrolls and Warscroll battalions with a Pitched Battle profile may be used in this event. The most recent Warscroll for a character or unit must be used. All models must be fully painted and based on either square or round bases. If you have a model which is unfinished then we will politely ask you to remove it from the table. You can find the approximate schedule for the event below. 8:30am Doors Open 9:25am Welcome and event briefing 9:30am–12:00pm Game 1 12:00pm–1:00pm Lunch and painting judging 1:00pm-3:30pm Game 2 3:30pm-3:45pm Break 3:45pm-6:15pm Game 3 6:30pm Results and awards Entry Price: £20 per team (two players). Rules Document: We are still finalising the rules pack, however here is the "Preparing Your Doubles Army Section" to help you plan: Each player may select a Force worth up to 1,000 points. Points don’t carry over between players. Warscroll Battalions must be fully contained in one player’s Force. Each Force is selected individually using the restrictions laid down in the “Vanguard” bracket of the General’s Handbook. Each player may select a General for their Force, and each may use their command ability in your team’s turn. Each command ability can only affect friendly models from that General’s Force, or, where applicable, enemy models. The Rules of One are in effect across the team’s Army. The Forces do not have to be from the same Grand Alliance. Allegiances (and therefore Traits, Artefacts and Battleline units) are determined individually for each Force. Any Pitched Battle Profile that specifies that it can only be taken once in an army can only be taken once in your team’s Army. Battle and Command Traits are determined for each Force individually and can only affect enemy Warscrolls and friendly Warscrolls from your own Force. Triumphs from the Pitched Battle are determined based on the difference between each team’s Armies points value. Reinforcement Points are determined individually for each player’s Force and reinforcements must be summoned from the same Grand Alliance. In all Pitched Battle battleplans, replace all instances of the word “player” with “team”.

  13. Ah I hadn't fully understood what that was... Would 17th June work better for people?
  14. Tell me about it! Going to be getting some of those dwarfs myself. Just drop us a message when the preorders for them come out and I will pop you down for it. No need to pay until the stuff comes out. The only things we can't typically get are the webstore exclusive collectors books that they sometimes do with releases.
  15. We should have the tournament for the Age of Sigmar doubles going up in the next couple of days. We are currently looking at Saturday 10th June, just to give you a date for your calendars!
  16. I will be sure to make that part more clear next time! We do have table numbers for card game tournaments, however I couldn't get those to work for the miniatures format. I will work this out for the next tournament! With table numbers pairings can then just be posted on a wall to allow people to find their game that way. Completely agree, more scenery would be nice and I will arrange for the next tournament. I am an old school Fantasy player so I probably didn't allow enough scenery :P. I do have some more mats arriving, alas they didn't make it in time for this tournament however they should be here for the next one! Thanks for all the feedback Jimbo, it is certainly really useful. I have a couple of questions that I am also hoping to get some feedback on. A couple of our prizes involves voting, now whilst I don't believe it really happened in this tournament, there is always some concerns that a group of players could influence the vote. Is there anything that we could do to improve the way voting is done? Also if you were planning a doubles tournament, would you say that both players must use the same Grand Alliance or are they fine to use different Grand Alliances?
  17. So I have popped together a quick feedback form and would appreciate if you could answer it. You can find that here. If you have some comments that either don't fit in the form or you just want to pop them down here or message them to me then that would be great. Feedback can be about anything from scenery, scenarios, need to have painted models or even about the facilities!
  18. Thanks for coming along to our first Age of Sigmar tournament! 16 was a great turnout for our first tournament and I am glad you have all had a great time. I will put a post up in the next couple of days asking for any feedback. We will definitely be holding more events in the future. Finally, I just want to thank you all for making it a great day... The way you all approached your games was in great spirit and it was good to see more experienced tournament players helping newer players.
  19. Yes, it will be the same artifacts and command traits all day. This is to encourage taking a more balanced force rather than being able to tailor a bit to each scenario.
  20. Just under a week to go now and the participation prizes and trophies have arrived! Thanks to Counter Attack Bases for making these for us.
  21. Looking forward to seeing you all there! We are at 16 tickets sold so far I believe, however expecting a few more in the week leading up! St Andrews is really close by, you can almost see St Andrews from our front door! Based with 3 colours will be fine :-)
  22. I have just updated the first post with some of the prizes! I will post below for clarity. As this is our first tournament for Age of Sigmar, I would welcome any feedback that you may have on them. Prize Structure: Participation: Acrylic Measuring Gauge The following prizes also come with an associated trophy. 1st Place: £50 store credit. 2nd Place: £30 store credit. 3rd Place: £15 store credit. Most Sporting: Warhammer Age of Sigmar Hero Bases. The Wooden Spoon: Khorne/Stormcast Dice & Shaker. Best Painted Army - Judge's Choice: £20 store credit. Best Painted Army - Player's Choice: £20 store credit.
  23. Lists are going to be fine to hand in on the day. In future events, we may ask for them in advance however that will be once we work out how best to stream/record the games.
  24. I am sure that Fyreslayers will get their time, especially if the points cost will give them a boost! Yes, the new Stormcast Eternals book will be used in this tournament.
  25. Looking forward to seeing your Ogor army on the day! I still have my Ogre army from Fantasy days but haven't got around to rebasing and turning them into a proper Ogor force. Nurgle certainly gives plenty of opportunity for conversions, however as you say there has been a lot of things done there already. I really liked some of the conversions of some of the new Tzeentch models.
