  1. With the new push towards updating buffs with the "wholly within" language, do the calculations change around taking large units of models with larger bases? Case in point: I had a game the other day where I ran 30 dryads and an arch-revenant. I found that it was nearly impossible to buff the dryads unless I set everything up perfectly. When you consider terrain - and the fact that Sylvaneth in particular play to terrain - perfect is hard to achieve. How have you been dealing with this change?
  2. I don't think all those glazes and texture paints are going away. They're probably just being repackaged.
  3. Wait just one minute. ALL Sylvaneth wizards now know the spell to spawn wyldwoods?! Awesome!
  4. Here's a question: given that most buffs now require "wholly within" and dryads are on great big 32mm bases, are "full" squads of 30 dryads still a good idea? Or are we better off with teams of 20?
  5. It's hard to say what Nagash intends since he's clearly insane.
  6. It's also a little more complicated than just Nagash randomly refusing to come to Sigmar's aid. Chaos played him by sending the Skaven (again) to mess with him. Nagash's wounded pride and Sigmar's inflexibility did the rest. Also, remember that King Taloren's facts are correct, but not in the right order. Nagash stayed home to defend Shyish so Sigmar lost at Allpoints. Nagash and Sigmar couldn't make up because they're both dicks. Then Sigmar starts stealing souls to create his Stormcast, which Nagash doesn't become aware of until the Storm of Sigmar. Although Nagash is initially willing to work with Sigmar to break the back of Chaos, that alliance is tentative compared to their old friendship, and it goes completely to ****** when Nagash is able to confirm that Sigmar is breaking their old agreement about souls. The Soul Wars are Nagash's retaliation.
  7. Hm. You're probably right. I can't seem to find the thing I thought I'd seen before, so perhaps it doesn't exist.
  8. I think I remember reading something to that effect when the game was announced. Something about Archaon calling on the mightiest Chaos tribes to send their best to Allpoints for a grand tournament so he could recruit the best for his Varanguard. I strongly suspect that they'd call it Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Whatever anyway for branding purposes even if it was technically set before the Age of Sigmar began.
  9. I believe that this game is set before the Storm of Sigmar, so at the point that Warcry happens the gates are still open.
  10. Maybe? Hard to say because we know their plans got all messed up.
  11. I didn't get to visit the GW in Paris when I was in France, but I did swing by the one in Versaille. There was some beautiful painting going on there.
  12. I'm not sure I agree. I mean, I haven't ever had the pleasure of assembling this kit from scratch, but I was under the impression that mostly it's just got a lot of options and the only real question is what's in the right hand.
  13. I'm in a bit of a pickle. I picked up the core of my Sylvaneth army as a used lot, and the tree Lord that came with was missing his left arm. I've had plenty of luck replacing the forearm and building a new elbow out of green stuff, but I'm afraid that sculpting a new left hand from scratch is pretty much beyond me. The trouble is that in all my Googling, it seems that you can't get a spare tree lord left hand for love or money. Can anyone suggest either a replacement claw or a hand that's about the right size that I could use as a base to sculpt a new one? TIA
  14. FWIW, it's pretty easy to magnetize a tree lord. You just need to magnetize the right hand to hold either the staff or the sword. Presumably you could also magnetize in an empty hand. The left hand is a bit harder because you either put in the vines or you don't and they're slender and difficult to magnetize, but it's probably doable. Or you could just magnetize the right hand with all three options, do the left hand without the vines, and say that you've modeled your treelord not currently shooting vines at people.
  15. Yes it has all the bits to make either.
  16. Giant multikit of a lizardy-dragony-thing that can be customized for several armies!
  17. Keep in mind that wargroves are probably going to change the most. The pattern we've seen is subfaction battalions turning into straight-up subfactions; case in point, stormhosts. So I wouldn't make too many decisions based on wargroves.
  18. I take it back. It's not a magmadroth. This one has square scales on top and wide band-like scales on the bottom. The magmadroth has thicker, armored-looking bands on top and squares on the bottom.
  19. Re: rumor engine. It looks reptilian to me. I'd be tempted to say Seraphon, who definitely could use some new kits. But doesn't it look a bit like a magmadroth tail? Maybe the mercenary Fyreslayers are getting a special character kit?
  20. No! I mean, yes, of course. Sorry. I got carried away.
  21. I feel you. Sometimes I'm tempted to apply myself. MOD EDIT: Please can we keep TGA a politics free zone
  22. The dude who was going to buy my gits ghosted on me but it took about three hours for someone else to pick 'em up. So now I can afford to buy Forbidden Power!
