  1. I really like your mounted wight king. I might have to look into making something similar...
  2. I really couldn't care less about Blood Bowl. I'm annoyed that the new 30k box game has legion-specific stuff, and I'm trying to decide if I'd rather just wait until I can get the parts I want (mkIII marines, Sisters of Silence) separately.

  4. I'd wait on that. Reports seem to indicate that a lot of the old specialist games are actually coming back... but possibly in different scales or with different basing requirements, and almost certainly with new sculpts. What's the point of picking up some more - say - space ships for BFG if they're going to do a new BFG with even better models sometime soon?
  5. And why not? If I was rocking a magic sword and wizard staff, I'd stand like that all day!
  6. I would still rather something more nuanced. Stormcast aligned with Death in a way that's shady or complicated. Stormcast who are bad because they're so devoted to Order that they become the enemy of ordinary humans. Not just "lol Stormcast of Chaos."
  7. Way to ****** off all the Stormcast players! It's hard to do 360°s like that in wargames because of how much it alienates players. Better to simply imply that Sigmar might be doing something fishy, as long as it's something fishy in line with who Sigmar is, rather than a total inversion.
  8. I've been working on some modelling and sculpting and conversion. These are two models I'm particularly proud of: a mounted wight king and the leader of my grave guard. The wight king started as a black knight model, but with a shield from the grave guard kit, a head from the skeleton warrior kit, a morningstar from the ancient skeleton regiment box, and a pimp collar that's partly third party "wolf pelts" and partly greenstuff. The grave guard is a bog-standard grave guard, but with the ax rather than the generic "great weapon" to distinguish him from his "men" and a head from the skeleton regiment box. I really like those horned heads. I'm going to end up using all of them. I wonder if I could learn how to make a cast of them...
  9. *Sigh* I guess I deserved that. What I meant was that some factions aren't being "neglected" so much as they are being sidelined. Permanently back-burnered. Unofficially pseudo-squatted. Technically they exist but they aren't going to play a central role in the narrative and they aren't going to get new models. Kind of like the Sisters of Battle, except GW continues to throw them some narrative love even as the codex and model line languish. I think that there's a difference between the way GW is treating those factions that they just abandon for years at a time, all the while claiming that they are still important and continuing to include them in the narrative, and the factions in Age of Sigmar that are clearly not viable. It's a matter of clarity.
  10. Guys. GW has always had a flagship faction or two for each of their properties. It's how they roll. At least in Age of Sigmar, they have two flagship factions - Bloodbound and Stormcast - and they aren't really neglecting any of the other factions (at least the ones that they actually intend to support, as opposed to the compendium factions, which I have a feeling are going to be supported in name alone).
  11. Almost certainly a Stormcast. Looks kind of wizardly. Though, I think I'd rather see the Stormcast continue to not get a wizard, because I like the distinction... but then again, maybe GW will handle it well?
  12. I actually really, really like it. If I were to start playing Tzeentch Arcanites, I'd totally stick this guy in as a daemon prince or greater daemon or something.
  13. Nice! I like that some Stormcast are supposed to be female, and it's really cool to see it represented here. And I appreciate that she looks like a woman in sensible armor and isn't shoved into a support roll - that's exactly what I'd expect from the Stormcast. Grim determination and practicality, all of them reforged to the God-King's exacting standards.
  14. Plastic, but with metal bits for the champion, musician, and icon bearer! They're cool models, aren't they?
  15. Speaking of oop minis, has anyone else got any of the '90s skeletons? I scored a box of them on eBay, and they're pretty cool. They've got a beastman head!
  16. Northern California resident Sameer Patel has entered into our Tale of Gamers with his "a la carte" Ironjawz, a pseudo starter box assembled from some new Ironjawz models and some OOP metals.
  17. Oh man…if they sold bits, and well priced? So many eBay sellers would go under.
  18. Let me introduce you to a model I'm very proud of - my varghulf courtier, pictured here in some dramatic moments from the game where he was definitely Most Valuable Crazy Cannibal Turned Vampire Blood Drinking Monstrosity. Also, some gamer's-eye-shots of my ghouls.
