  1. Sadly I'm in the same boat. Durgin's KS is running this month and I've been eyeing the new LOTR book both of which make me feel warm and fuzzy inside so I'll just wait for your guys overwhelmingly positive reviews and be happy for ya'll :D

    Here we go again:

The new Warcry set costs 160€ (129-125GBP - that‘s about one billion AUD by GW‘s conversion rate 🤣

In a very non-complainy tone I must admit that this might be where I start painting my backlog and playing using the Core Book, Tome of Champions and my 2 or 3 beloved warbands without buying more. I think the game is nearly perfect the way it is. I was looking forward to more narrative content and I have tremendous love for the game designer. No "but". Just gonna enjoy it until you guys all say that Catacombs is a masterpiece and everyone should absolutely have it.

How long did it take for the Untamed beasts and iron golems to be released separately from the original starter?

Will definitely pick up the scions when they're out, great models.

It wasn't long at all. Warcry for some reason had a rapid succession of releases one after another. I think (correct me since I'm starting to forget things) that the problem was that they released an AoS box of Untamed Beasts where there was just two of the same pairs of sprues (2 leaders for example) and no cards. But there was also this and I honestly don't recall what came first :(

Mhm you actually ever only needed 2: The Army Book and the Core Rules. During the End Times you had to get the End Time book to play the new Minis, that was it.

A big part was that you needed quite a chunk of money to only get a single unit to a good size (15-20 models). The rules also needed an complete overhaul, they needed it badly.

I was exaggerating however slightly :)

You are absolutely correct, I forgot that it was a core and an army book.

  5. I'm curious, has any of you guys ever tried to email GW's team directly and asked for a simple motivational justification of why their 2+2=160EUR?

I mean something to the effect of "Hey guys, I've noticed the price doubled but there are 12 fewer models, 6 fewer buildings, no proofread and no cards. Could you be so kind to tell me where the value is given that I'm on the fence about it?"

I was good about not buying GW this year. Not because I was "priced out" per se but because I felt like GW just wanted to get into my pants without buying me dinner first. But I was really looking forward to this box and while I can both afford it and probably justify it with the whole "I haven't spent cash on GW for 12+ months" it still feels like they just don't give a (blank) about me, you or anyone here.

Also, I know the topic of the Old World is now synonymous to "Voldemort" and people more vile than nurgle himself crawl out of their holes to pull you into their toxic lairs, but, didn't they blow up the old system mainly because new people couldn't afford to join the hobby and it took 12 billion books to start playing? (Mind you I know I can play Warcry with just one book and a first starter and am only looking at the new books for the narrative quests)

  6. I like the idea but Eddie spent most of the air time talking about this book helping Warcry players move to AoS during the stream so I too will wait till I look through the leaked pages before I commit. More quests is great though. This game's narrative aspect is why my group is playing it.

What would the Underworlds models count as for Warcry? They're amazing models and I don't own any other Skaven or even play Underworlds. Would love to find a way to get them on the table.

Spiteclaw can be either Clanrat or Stormvermin leader (145 or 170 points)
2 Night Runners (fist weapons) 75 pts each
2 Clanrats (spear guy and shield guy) 75 pts each

So you are looking at roughly half a starting warband with this box. Getting that one box with ogres, rats and packmaster will give you an amazing versatility, cool fluff and strong units.

Been continuing to kick ass with my Splintered Fang against all sort of opponents. Snake swarms are awesome, the leader's auto-success net is awesome, and snake charmers simply have solid stats for their points. As a chaos band they also have access to the cheese that is the bray shaman, but I had to start leaving him out for being too game-breaking.

For those looking to make additional swarms, the old jungle swarms from lizardmen have a number of snakes in them while the current bastiladon kit has a bunch of extra snake bits that the Seraphon player is unlikely to need since the laser gem is better.

    I like you.

  9. I'm going to leave this here for the time it takes GW to... Yeah, I'm gonna leave it here. It's the next best version for the official roster template that seems to have it all except for a separate favored warrior field and challenge battle tickmarks.

    1. Wounds

    2. Territories rules

    3. Points per person and total current warband

    4. Editable fields that you can just print out

I have no idea who made it so please go to their links at the bottom of the roster and buy them a round or two. This is properly good work.

As for the official gods of chaos, how long has it been now since the last release?

Do you have any picture of abilities and cards?

    I've found mine here: https://imgur.com/gallery/KZpHzjL

Yes, two boxes of dorfs and you are free to play :)

Only 5 hearthguards might be a tight choice given that you might want 1 leader, 2 shooters 1 chain/axe guy and a couple others after you dominate some territories. Or just go with smaller guys. Seems like having just two boxes will be a perfect amount.

Sorry, there is a misunderstanding. I mean only one subsection where to collect all the "warcry faction" topics :)

There is a misunderstanding. You just repeated what you said without clarifying. Warcry forum is that sub-section where one could find all warcry faction topics.

  12. So these guys are gonna make it or break it:

    1x Hearthguard Berserker (w/axe) Leader
    3x Vulkite Berserker (Dual Wield)
    2x Auric Hearthguard
    1x Hearthguard Berserker (w/axe)
    1x Vulkite Berserker (shield/axe)
    1x Hearthguard Berserker (w/chain)

    1000pts even.

What you think? Not used to starting a warband with this many models. Really look forward to it this weekend. Any experience so far with them?

These Ogors are too expensive for thousand points. Maybe  you exchange one leadbelcher with a gnoblar?

Yep. I just realized I've cheated a bunch of my friends by bringing extra 200 pts of fighters and beating on them all day. Now I know where all that fun came from lmao

    Thanks! O.o

  14. I had...

    2x Ogors
    2x Leadbelchers
    1x Irongut Leader (315)

...and I fell in love with them. I even allowed myself to be a little cocky, when playing against Unmade and closing in on their leader I said "watch your leader drop from full to zero in one action", AND HE DID! O.O

Lost most games but had the best time just enjoying these guys too much. The hand-cannons are ridiculous. They just delete things from the field.

  15. Rat ogres are absolutely amazing. I've played half a dozen games with these guys and while my melee Stormfiend died almost all the time, the shooty ogre dominated the map no matter what was thrown at him. I have half a mind to get another one

  16. Hi,

I'd like to start some waves around the issue of an outdated roster builder (Varanscribe) and the lack of an up-to-date PDF template for a warband roster

I'm not pushing people to grab their pitchforks or start throwing things at GW but am attempting to get more people to email and/or reach out to GW directly and ask for this issue to be bumped up on their priority list.

    GW customer support email:  uk.custserv@gwplc.com
    Warcry FAQ email: WarcryFAQ@gwplc.com

Do spend 2 mins of your time and send one question to both emails. Not gonna take much out of you.

    1. It would've been fine...ish if the Tome of Champions did not say "You can find a new warband roster for Champion Mode at ageofsigmar.com/warcry/" making this a promise not delivered. I'm fine with waiting but at least don't tell me to go look for stuff that ain't there.
    2. It would've been fine if there wasn't a sea of new and amazing features in the game that the current roster just doesn't have the space for.
    3. It would've been fine if it was the first update to a roster but there is supposedly a third version already. The statement in the ToC allows for a fair assumption that a pdf is out somewhere.

Let's make a request for it. To at least replace the PDF in the link above with a newer version, which has the mercs, the challenge quests, the wounds and the whole bundle of newer stuff in it. Suggest doing it before the new warbands hit the shelves.  We can use the pencil to write down the new warbands while they work on updating Varanscribe.

From a customer perspective I feel insignificant when there is this little consistency in what we're told. Instead of bashing the guys in the comments, say "emailed" and show your support and interest in Warcry. It is a brilliant game after all.

P.S. Spread this to your gaming/social media groups etc. It's not super easy to find the contact info for GW and maybe your friends want to but just don't know where to go.
