    TGA Site Overhaul - Summer 2024

    Hi everyone. 

    Over the next few weeks and months I will be updating various sections of the site. 

    Here are some of the priorities.  

    1. Grand Alliance Subforums. 

    The faction chats died off almost as soon as the forums were lit out from single giant posts and into subforms. 

    The Subfaction forums will be merged back into the main Order, Chaos, Death and Destruction with a main faction topic thread in each. 

    You may notice that some of the less posted in factions have already been moved.  

    2. Unused sections. 

    The less used sections and forums will be pruned or combined.  

    AoS around the web is currently 7 different forums.  

    This will be changed to a single forum with multiple threads.  The same will apply in other areas.  

    3. Visual update. 

    I'm a time served electrician.  Not a graphic designer.  

    I can get by when needed but a major overhaul is over mu head.  

    I will however be updating headers and banners to various parts of the site. 
     

    I'm open to help on this. 

    4. Events

    Events and Tournament comment was the core reason for starting TGA. 

    It feel like its been left behind as the Tournament chat moved to What's App/Discord. 

    These private chats are great for instant chatter, but less good for exposure and accessibility. 

     

    It feels like the tournament section could be improved to help TO's and players alike.  
     

     

     

     As ever, open to feedback and help on all of this.

    TGA Winter update. - Forum Changes

    Hi Everyone,

    I’m going to spend a bit of time this Christmas on updating the forums. 
     

    please post in here, if there are sections that you think need updating, removing or consolidating. 
     

    I’m open to any changes, but if something is too major, I’ll be sure to reply and say why

     

    What I’m looking for here is feedback and ideas from regular users

    Hey, 

    sorry I’m late to this. 
     

    originally we had just the grand alliance forums. 
     

    We had requests to separate them so split into the faction forums. 
     

    maybe we could move them back if it’s would be better.

    It’s a hang up from old default software and when those terms were predominantly used as insults on message boards. 
     

    we can get this updated. First time I’ve noticed it or seen it mentioned in all they years TGA has been up.

    What do we think to the winter balance update?  

     

    Highlights are:

    New war scrolls for some of the Gods of AoS

    Points adjustments on various scrolls 

    Rules changes to the Heroic Recovery and Unleash Hell abilities and the Amulet of Destiny item.

    Tournament Terrain and Gaming mat Hire

    Hi everyone,

    I wanted to post this to let event organisers know about Uk Tournament terrain hire. 

    Age of Sigmar terrain and gaming mats for 100 tables (200 players)

    The is the terrain used at our Blood and Glory events and also seen at SCGT and most recently the fantastic War in the Heartlands.

    Also available is 40k Terrain and Gaming mats for 50 tables.  

    Prices are simply £5 per player at the event. 

    This is sorted out after the event is wrapped up, so you don’t have to guess at the number of players that will be attending.  


    The terrain is stored in Derby and can be collected and returned or nationwide courrier service can be arranged at additional cost.

    It’s an excellent conversation to have. 
     

    the tournament scene will reach new heights when a commercially viable event company gets involved and is able to charge the money required to hold spectacular events. 
     

    look at the prices of the same spectacular events in other industries. 
     

    Extreme example, but how much were tickets to Fury/Wilder fight at the weekend?  £500 for a few hours in the nosebleeds? 
     

    I just paid nearly a grand all told for an overnight trip to Legoland. 
     

    Cinema tickets with popcorn and drinks easily run to £30-40 per person for a couple of hours. 
     

    Comic-Con, League of Legends worlds, and lots of other major nerd events are amazing. But the tickets price needs to be high enough to cover the cost of it.

    Hagg Nar Sect 3.0 Updated

    So many avatars!  How are you managing to get them all moving and fighting? 

    1 - Sacrament. 

    2 - Avatar prayer

    3 - ??

    Or are you not too worried on turn 1. 

     

    I’m not sure you can use the Alpha Beast Pack ability on them either.  Pre-game move is still a normal move.  Avatar can only move if Animated. 

    I reckon you would be rolling your ward saves if you took pre-game damage…
