  1. I'd love to see something like this. The Khinerai are especially underutilized. They never have the stats to do anything on their own, they don't have their own character either. There's a lot of ground to cover when you have 'snake with bat wings' as your central aesthetic through line that just hasn't been touched because they keep cramming Aelf in there.
  2. DoK could use ANYTHING new. The army has played exactly the same way but with slightly different numbers since Broken Realms, Morathi came out.

I literally just started paying attention to Old World when I found out tomb kings were going to be back, so apologies if this is a stupid question but: Are they also giving Tomb Kings and/or Brettonians AoS rules? Because Tomb Kings specifically being squatted was one of the dumbest lasting decisions in AoS. Those models fit the AoS aesthetic better than some of the newer AoS factions do.
  4. Some armies desperately need something new to make them interesting again. Daughters of Khaine have been EXACTLY the same army, with slightly different numbers, since Broken Realms: Morathi came out. Two Battletomes later and they haven't managed to add a single interesting wrinkle to the entire army. Either role them into Malerion Aelves (blech) or give them something new to do. Morathi+15 Bow Snakes got old before second edition was done.
  5. So what do you think the best way to abuse the new Galarian Veterans mechanic (I know that's a pokemon region, I'm not changing it) so we get the benefits but none of the downsides? Zainthar Kai fight on death to exploit the hell out of the +1 damage battalion? Heart of Fury to completely negate the benefit of the +1 damage battalion? Medusa/Hagg queen general to avoid making snakes battleline so they get the +1 damage against other batteline without being +1 damage against them? 2 damage lifetaker units chasing down their veterans with a 14" move and doing 10 damage with just the turn 3 Bloodrite buff, up to 20 with Mindrazor? So many ways to get value at none of the cost!
  6. 105 euro generally means 130-150USD. Eidolon and the fyrslayer box are both 105 eura and 130USD.
  7. ...So...a number of box sets have had Khinerai in them and I already had quite a few because I thought the old Double Move battalion would be fun with them...so I MAY currently find myself with 20 Lifetakers, 10 HeartRenders and 30 unbuilt Khinerai. Which is not at all problematice.
  8. They stand on objectives and die. It's all they really need to do, tbh, but it's all they're really capable of. At best they'll force an unleashed hell or strip a few wounds off of a character. If they were 3 attacks each or had their own buff character like the Gladiatrix, maybe they'd be good. They don't, so Heartrenders are better in 99% of situations.
  9. In that case, you're now essentially dedicating TWO enhancements and 130pts to give one spell roughly 75% odds after unbinds. It's a good combo, but I don't think it's worth it in Morathi lists. The ironscale setup is guaranteed and requires 0 addons. It doesn't end up with the same kind of output but is cheaper and more consistent. In non-Morathi lists, I think that type of Medusa is probably more or less mandatory if you're NOT taking Morathi though.
  10. And that's fine, but it's not really necessary and Morathi can also cast mindrazor. You're spending 130pts and your artefact for basically an additional 16% chance to get mindrazor. (The +1takes the odds from 42% to 58%. ) Or you can give your blood sisters run and charge and battleline for 15pts cheaper. And still have a relic.
  11. Ironscales had completely replaced Medusa in Morathi+15Snakes list long before the book came out. The fact that Blood Sisters are now a significant improvement over, not only witch aelves and SoS, but also how Blood Sisters USED to be, there's no real reason to bother with a medusa in a Morathi list.
  12. If Shadowstalkers can survive a charge while acting as a screen, you didn't actually need a screen.
  13. Yep. If you can still reliably leverage the teleport you can potentially get 150pts of value out of them, but seeing any kind of meaningful return out of 300pts of them is unlikely. They, along with the slaughter queen, slaughter cauldron, sisters of slaughter, and lifetakers seem like the big misses as far as points rebalancing goes. I'd actually really love it if they dropped lifetakers down to the 50-60pts they're realistically worth just so you can spend your last couple points on a screening unit with a decent footprint. 5 40mm bases at max coherency does block off movement in a line almost 18" long. Less for charges.
  14. 1. because 2x heartrenders are a free, guaranteed 2VP on whatever turn I don't think I'm going to score a different battle tactic, they can also be used as a decent screen if I'm forced to go first by dropping down and move blocking whatever I most don't want to hit my lines turn 1. 2. I would never bring two units of shadowstalkers, especially not in Zainthar Kai. At 150pts, one unit is decent(but unexceptional) as a charge eater/teleport harasser, but two units (especially if you're using them as chaff) is horrifically expensive. I mean, you could take 2 additional units of Blood Sisters for 20pts less. You lose the teleport but it's way more damage and functions far better as a screen because of their attacks on death. Assuming the FAQ doesn't change Blessing of Khaine not allowing rerolls on the 5++, the list would look more like: HaggCauldron Zealous Orator, Sacrement Ironscale Medusa Mindrazor 15 Blood Sisters 10 Blood Sisters 10 Blood Stalkers 5 Blood Sisters Heartrenders Heartrenders Heartrenders
  15. My general feeling is that, unless you're playing Hagg Narr, you kind of need both for either to be better than just throwing Curse on a unit and going for mortals. I've been taking blood sigil on a lot of my priests so I can have the option of going sacrement or Blessing myself when I'm in a witchbrew+haggnarr+Medusa combat phase. Alternatively, having both Blessing + Sacrement is the only reason I would bother with taking 2 priests. If you can't reroll the 5++ it makes blessing pretty much worthless. Rerolling a 6 doesn't even give you 5+ odds of success. You're better off just going for straight DPS.
