  1. Remember that it is not a true 5+ ward, it is a ward only for mortal wounds. For an army that does not have access to the command ability to reroll charges, the Harbinger's ability to roll 3D6 gives them greater utility IMO in pining down key units for the enemy. With the additional rend, the halberds do more damage despite doing less attacks.
  2. Howdy, a few weeks back I also picked up the Horrek's Dreadlance box! My post and questions I asked should be on this last page since you have some similar questions to me. Stalkers have a better defined role in the army and more potential synergy than the Guard, IMO. With the former's ability to change stances towards one that gives +1 rend, +1 damage on all attacks, Stalkers are a premiere melee damage dealer for the army, on average doing 10.41 damage on a 4+ save. Their command ability let's them reroll run and charge rolls, so if you run them in Stalliarch Lords (gives you run and charge), these guys can mulch in combat. Guard on the other hand have a command ability that buffs the damage output of their shields and are a 12 wound meat shield for your foot Mortisans at 190 points. On the point of the Mortarchs, Arkhan the Black IMO is pretty viable if you don't want to take Nagash. He's a hero monster with a good move, bonuses to cast, triple cast wizard, access to all spells in the OBR lore. He can be shot down by a volley of Lumineth Sentinels but honestly all non-god characters get shot down right now.
  3. Sorry, you're right it would go to 4 drops, not 2. I'll keep that in mind about the deployment, thanks!
  4. Nice, your list looked much more fun to run than Nagash and oops all Morteks so it's good that the Crawler gave you value. I think I would rather run 20, 20, 10 Mortek Guard just for more flexibility on the board. Lastly, did the exclusion of not having your Mortek Guard in a Hunters of the Heartlands battalion come up to bite you at all? I was wondering if 2 drop would be a way to go with OBR [Battle Regiment and Hunters] since this isn't an alpha strike army and the Mortek Guard really need the ability to Shieldwall or Bludgeon during combat.
  5. Did you think the Crawler was a worthy investment for the tourney? What would you say was the MVP/LVP units in your list? Nice job on the 3-2 by the way.
  6. See, with the focus on monsters getting double points for GHB battle tactics I was thinking it might be worth to have two Gothizzar Harvesters if you aren't bringing Nagash or another monster.
  7. Howdy folks, new poster here. I have played Nighthaunt for a while as my first army but am getting into Ossiarch Bonereapers as a second army. I've scrolled through the third most recent pages and while I eventually want to have a decent tournament level army in my local scene, I'm starting off building my army slowly. Just ordered a Broken Realms: Horrek's Dreadlance box that is coming in next week. My first question here is what do you folks recommend as the weapon option for the Deathriders? I understand the value of -1 rend from the swords, however the spears look enticing to get more attacks in based on the new coherency rules and the ability to get extra attacks on the charge!
