    You mean the cultists with god keyword? In the Tome Celestial from White Dwarf magasine #468. Cultists, ogroid, warqueen and chieftain can have a mark of chaos. ALSO, cultists with the same Mark of Chaos as the general count as battleline

    As you pointed in your post scriptum, for me the rule clarification from the Aura of Chaos definition implies that the god keywords are Mark of Chaos keywords ("If you select a unit with more than one Mark of Chaos keyword to be part of your army, you must pick which one will apply to that unit for the duration of the battle.") Does this phrase of rule applies to any caracter other than Archeon?

    Arcane tome : "[...]If the bearer is already a WIZARD, they can attempt to cast 1 additional spell instead." edit: Nvm, just realised your question was why can he pick 2 spells from the spell lore, not if he could cast 2 spells. I don't know the answer to that question.

    You can take units from the battlefield and set them up in reserve, but not the other way around (cannot take units from reserve and set them on the battlefield

    Flaming weapon add 1 to the damage characteristic of the weapon. When using Fourfold blade, the 5+ unmodified hit roll triggers D3 MW, but that doesn't look at the damage characteristic of the weapon. So flaming weapon is only useful for the attacks that hit under 5+.

    Sadly with the latest Broken Realms BeLakor errata, you can't use Skaven units with Legion of the First Prince. "Instead, if you choose this faction, Be’lakor and units with the Daemon keyword in Battletome: Blades of Khorne, Battletome: Disciples of Tzeentch, Battletome: Maggotkin of Nurgle, Battletome: Hedonites of Slaanesh and Battletome: Slaves to Darkness, excluding units with the Everchosen keyword, can be part of your army."

    A few thoughts: 1-Even though you loose the command trait, I would consider picking Be'lakor as the general. He would benefit a lot from the 5+ Ward for being a daemon prince general (he is quite weak to mortal wounds and he gives a victory point to opponent if he dies). 2-Since Mask of Darkness is so unreliable, I would consider giving the Khorne Daemon Prince the Amulet of Destiny (if he is not the general) or the DoomBringer blade (which is quite good in the Monster Hero meta) instead of using the artefact slot for arcane tome. 3-With the latest white dwarf update for cultists battleline, instead of the 30 marauders, I could see an argument for: 10xUntamed Beasts 10xUntamed Beasts 10xIron Golems 10xIron Golems new list total: 1995/2000

    For most scenarios you don't need extra movement to reach objectives on the first turn if you run a few units and have a GUO with bell, without considering circle of contagion. Doesn't mean LoA is bad a general, but this buff doesnt strike me as game changer. If I run single GUO I use bell+blade. If I run 2 GUOs i like having the second one with massive blade+flail.

    With all the bonuses when you complete battle tactics with monsters they are quite good at scoring points, and with heroic recovery adding yet another healing layer, they are even harder to kill.     AOS Coach on youtube did a video last week with Luke Morton from WargamerOnline, and they discussed a Varanguard heavy list in the second half of the video if you like this type of content. Personnaly since the release of the latest WhiteDwarf update making cultists battleline, I've been experimenting with the following lists (I still don't know with which one I will end up using in the long run):

    I suggest dropping the arcane tome from a lore point of view 😆 but it is still a good choice from a power level point of view! I like having a warshrine in an idolator list, but I guess switching a knight unit for a warshrine is against the goal of the army...

    there are no stupid questions and yes you can pick from the universal traits for your ravager heroes as long as no heroes share the same trait

    Dont think you can use arcane tome with varanguard..? The Fists of the Everchosen rule states that Knights of the empty Throne Varanguard units can only choose artefacts and traits from their damned legion options

    1-they changed One Last Gift in the latest Wrath of the Everchosen FAQ so it triggers on 1 instead of 6. 2- (from core rule1.5.5) "Rules that refer to an unmodified roll are referring to the dice roll after re-rolls have been made but before modifiers are applied." Rerolls are made before modifiers and triggers. So if they reroll their 6 into another one, now they can apply their trigger only for the second roll. 3- since reroll are now made before modifiers I dont think it works for 5

    Hi and welcome to the game! Few things at first glance; Fomoroid Crusher does not have the Mark of Chaos keyword. You can still use it in Nurgle, but as an Ally, not as a coalition unit. Chaos lord is at is best when you have a powerfull target for the fight twice command ability. Since this CA can only target mortal S2D units, in this list it can only target marauders, chariot or crusher. I guess most of the time the target will be the marauders, but I'm unsure wheter or not they justify including the Chaos Lord. Do you plan to use the Cogs for charge bonus or wizard bonus?

    Depending on attack profile and ennemy saves, sometimes MW on 6 to hit is better, while sometimes the extra attack is better. I made a quick chart for 1 damage no rend attacks to compare both in order to help me with my sloppity decisions.

    It might be an interesting option to try, but I still prefer plague drones over cows. They are a bit more expensives in points, but they count as double on objectives, and they are tankier with disgustingly resilient + locust of corrosion in munificient wanderers. Damage wise, yes they are better when alone, but plague drones becomes so good when paired with a sloppity and/or a spoilpox. But i agree you need to adapt playstyle so they are moving with the bulk of the army or the buffing heroes.

    Feeling kind of sad with the new FAQ. One last gift now triggers on their 1s instead of their 6s. It used to be that every one was having fun around the table; You hit me and I hit you, joy! Now they will be twice as sad when they miss and we won't be happier when they hit. Sharing the joy of Nurgle just lost a bit of meaning today

    Most units in S2D can be given a Mark of Chaos. Every S2D hero with a Mark of Chaos Keyword has an aura around him buffing others S2D units with the same keyword. The general has a better aura than other heroes, but non-hero units have to be close to a hero in order to benefit from the Aura. Non-hero units do not have any Aura of Chaos by themselves and that the Aura of Chaos from S2D heroes are only buffing S2D units. Other than the Aura of Chaos, giving a Mark a Chaos to a unit will give them one of the Chaos god keywords (or undivided). This can make the unit eligible to receive buffs from other sources ( like a Blades of Khorne Bloodsecrator will buff S2D units with a Khorne Mark of Chaos) and allow units with the appropriate Mark to be taken as Coalition units in other armies. You can have Undivided Marauders with Khorne Warriors and Knights, but many players choose to give the same mark of chaos to all their units as it is much easier to track which unit can receive which buff.

    Yes it does count as a Daemon for stuff like Munificient Wanderers and others. I've been working these past days on a Verminlord for my Nurgle army! No conversions, but I plan on adding more nurglings, and I believe it will fit pretty well with the rest of the army.

    I think the plaguebearers will melt very fast in such a list leaving you with only the heroes. Not a the heroes are bad, far from it, but it may be hard to score objectives.
