Yeah my feeling is zombie ogres to tie in the Korsargi Nightguard. The weapons are really throwing me off. They look like excessively long scimitar’s or glaives.

What’s your theories on the guys in the background? They look pretty elite but hard to tell if it’s Skellies, Vamps or Deadwalkers.

Regarding that 3.0 rumour, Stormcast already have Knight-Questors, so it’s not a massive leap for them to build out a chamber around that idea. Also recently there have been a lot of old school cavalry units being brought out. New Chaos Knights, Kavalos Deathriders, Vanari Dawnriders and now Blood Knights. Stormcast could definitely get something similar, that differentiates enough from Dracoths, Dracolines and Gryph-Chargers. I never liked the Bretonia aesthetic personally but I think a lot of the themes and personality they had could be the basis for a cool Stormcast chamber.

Could the theory of a new Orruk release as part of AoS 3.0 be in jeopardy considering 40k are about to get a pretty substantial Ork update? I feel like new destruction might be something different. Ogres/Ogroids or a new race entirely perhaps. An outside chance could be that the Beast Snagga’s come with dual options for 40k and AoS maybe...

Looks too machined/manufactured to be AoS or destruction. I’d guess this is 40k related.

I’m glad they’ve stuck with some of the classic Vampire Counts look whilst also diversifying the designs with the Cursed City stuff, Kritza and now this. They seem to have done a similar thing with Lumineth, in that there is some very obviously High Elf inspired carryover from WHF, but they’ve also sprinkled the range with strange creatures and designs befitting the mortal realms. There’s so much potential for individuality with a lot of the recent releases now which is great for AoS as a whole.

They said that the new skeletons are replacing the old ones, but do you think that means the regular warriors, the grave guard or both?

I have no idea what it is, Kurnothi, Beastmen or something new entirely, but if Kragnos is indeed the figure from the teaser, I’m getting a real Dothraki vibe from him. Looks like someone merged Khal Drogo with his horse.

They both share the same emblem on their belts, and are both very similar stylistically. I’d say he’s a Cursed City model rather than Gravelords.

@Liquidsteel He’s one of the Vyrkos vampires. They’re the cousins of the Ven Alten guy from the heroes according to the Cursed City website.

So there’s five districts on the Ulfenkarn map still untouched. - The Ven Alten Skydocks, which is the family name of one of the heroes and his three vamp cousins. - Hangman’s Copse which is described as a bat-infested former Sylvaneth Embassy. - The Shadowed Crypt-halls where haunting music and screams are echoing out of the vaults. - The Clot which is home to carrion horrors, which seems to reference FEC. - The Gheistgale which is home to the spectral dead. So Nighthaunt. Could these be the basis for the expansions? Or are they perhaps just generic areas you have to pass through in the core box?

Looks like a lance rather than a sword so I’m leaning towards Blood Knights. There’s a lot of “stuff” in the lower background though so could this be mounted on something bigger than a horse?

In defence of the Be’lakor theory there are several Chaos rumour engines unsolved and the updated knights and warriors are still only available via the Start Collecting box. Perhaps a surprise Slaves to Darkness release is on the cards or, and hold on to your butts, AoS 3.0 will be versus Chaos again.

I doubt Gravelords will be released before Cursed City, or even in the next few months after. Warhammer Quest is one of their flagship releases this year so they will want to space them out a fair bit considering Gravelords is likely the army version of the Cursed City Villains. We technically haven’t even had the official teaser for Soulblight yet.

It’d be awesome if an expansion for the Cursed City includes an undead Mancrusher or something equivalent to the Dreaded Ambull in Blackstone Fortress.

I do love the cartoony Skeletor / He-man dynamic of Nagash and Sigmar as much as it might be a meme at this point. Skeletor Nagash is the anti-hero of AoS for me, nestled in between Sigmar as the protagonist and Archaon / the Chaos gods as the antagonists. However I can see why that’s not the same for everyone, and I think there have been some great points made about it!

The three charms at the bottom look like a nordic hammer, a ships wheel and an axe head. So Dispossessed, Kharadron Overlords and Fyreslayers respectively? No idea what that would mean though.

Flesh Eater Courts Most of their kits are just carried over from Warhammer Fantasy and are starting to showing their age when you compare them to the WHU warband. Beasts of Chaos I used to love Beastmen but apart from the god-aligned units they still have that shoehorned into AoS feeling. You could fit gors and ungors into a Warcry warband and that would probably sum them up as well as an entire faction can. Seraphon I’d personally like them to move away from the dinosaur stuff a bit more, but I just hope any refresh fully embraces the celestial, “ancient astronauts” theme that’s so cool in the lore. Skaven The future for Skaven might be turning Clan Skryre into the poster boys of the faction so to speak. Seeing as how important realmstone is to the AoS lore, the utilisation of warp stone might be something they focus on with Skaven. They have some of the most up to date sculpts (stormfiends & bombardier) and it would also be another way for GW to sell more of the new technical paints (tesseract glow & nihilakh oxide).
