  1. I am going to correct myself on this discussion. Not on Be'lakor's 4+ FDP then 6+ ward. I am reading the FAQ in 14.3 that the unit that receives the wound (PB or Pinks for example) cannot ward it off. can an attempt be made to negate that additional wound or mortal wound if an effect would allow a player to do so? A: No. Wounds and mortal wounds allocated in this way cannot be negated.
  2. The way I am reading this is that in order to negate a wound it must be allocated to the model. I don't believe you can negate a wound that hasn't been allocated yet. I also believe the FDP is moving the wound, before allocation, to the friendly demon unit, it is not negated. The way I am reading FDP indicates that the die roll takes place before allocation. The dice determines who the wound is allocated too. Once the wound is allocated to either the demon unit or Be'lakor, then it can be negated.
  3. Hold on folks. Be'lakor's ability is activated before a wound or mortal wound is allocated. This is clearly stated in the First-Damned Prince section that states the following: 'In addition, before you allocate a wound or mortal wound to Be'lakor, pick one friendly unit with 9" of him and roll a dice:.......On a 4+, that wound or mortal wound is allocated to that unit instead.' The key wording here is before you allocate a wound.... 14.3 in the FAQ states the following: 14.3 WARDS Q: If a player makes a successful dice roll to negate a wound or mortal wound, and this triggers an effect that forces a wound or mortal wound to be allocated to a different unit (as per, for example, ‘Sworn Protectors’ in Battletome: Fyreslayers or ‘The Armour of Morkar’ in Battletome: Slaves to Darkness), can an attempt be made to negate that additional wound or mortal wound if an effect would allow a player to do so? A: No. Wounds and mortal wounds allocated in this way cannot be negated. In the case of FDP, the roll is done before a wound/mw is allocated. The FAQ is referring to '..a successful dice roll to negate a wound or mortal wound..." This means that FDP activates prior to wound allocation. For example, Be'lakor fails two saves. Before allocating these wounds you roll a dice. If it is 4+ that wound is allocated to the friendly demon unit. If it is not a 4+ then the wound is allocated to Be'lakor. In both cases (Be'lakor and the friendly unit) are able to roll wards against this allocated wound. Q: Some abilities allow you to roll a dice to attempt to negate a wound or mortal wound, but that roll may have a different effect depending on the score of the dice (as per, for example, the ‘Soul-forged Guardians’ ability on the Praetors warscroll). Are these abilities wards, and is the roll a ward roll? A: Yes For this question the FDP ability is still defensible. The FDP ability roll takes place before a dice is rolled to negate a wound or mortal wound. I understand the confusion since it's not well known. The FDP ability is not at all common and is very different than other body guard abilities that are referenced in the FAQ.
  4. Rule question: Does Glorious Afflictions stop KO fly high? Thanks...
  5. Excellent advice! As a matter of fact I ran BT IR at the Warpcharged tourney in VA with that list last Sunday. He was a bit swingy. I did use the kairos trick and took out a stonehorn and damaged another. He needs to be in the middle of the fight.
  6. Super good feedback. You got my wheels turning. I will look at the flesh hound idea....I have 5 from my old Karanak build. The one thing about the 5+ hit = d3 MW is that the sequence stops. So you loose the wound effect of the rage thirster. Agree with the 5+ ward artifact. I believe it will work on a Wrath thirster. His 6 attacks do not profile and he can reroll all hits with this CA, Reroll hits if it's a monster or hero and he has shooting. Fishing for those 5-6 die is the key. Plus his shooting makes him even more attractive. I will try both and let you know how it goes. Thanks again.
  7. Hello Khorne folks, I am a LoFP player and I have been in search of a hammer daemon monster. We use to have the Vermin Lord Corruptor as our 10 attack murder machine. FAQ prevents us from using the skaven book so we lost his high melee (10) and command ability that allows him to reroll hits. The LoFP gang have an artifact that triggers on a 5+ on hits for d3 MW. Pretty strong. Well, now that he is gone I have been looking at Bloodthirsters. Wrath of KBT looks like a good candidate. 6 non-profiled attacks with 5+ MW (sequence stops). CA that allows for re-roll....it's interesting and looking for your experience with him. I am also looking at the Rage version but with a different artifact. We have another artifact that allows for rerolling saves. And he might be a good candidate for this setup. My question for him is how effective is his 6 roll on wounds effect? If he could be a bit more tanky would he be better? I plan on teaming him up with a unit of bloodcrushers. I am worried about his lack of shooting. What is the BT Meta these days with the 3.0/FAQ changes? Be'lakor thanks you!
  8. What is the rationale behind this change: Pages 86, 87, 94, 95, 96 and 97 – Damage Tables Change ‘Wounds Allocated’ to ‘Wounds Suffered’. Thanks.
  9. Well, we lost an important unit in VLC. Is bloodthirster the new hammer? I am super bummed with this FAQ and new points changes. We lost VLC, K'daai, and Kairos point increase just made this a fluff army. A very $$ fluff army.
  10. Very interesting points reveal. I think we did pretty good here. Kairos went way up but Belly, VLC, PB, bilepiper, was very reasonable with some points going down.
  11. Played second list against Teclis last night, Scorched Earth. Man it was ugly. He went first took out the exalted and flamers on turn one. drove his 5 man dawnriders into my left flank. which was on the side of Belly and the DP. Had to engage and brought them out in my turn. (I decided to go with Khorne mark for DP). That 18" bubble on run/charge is impressive. No double turn for me. He took out my DP and Bilepiper via Teclis again. and he was whittling my PB down hard. He brought purple sun and Geminds. They are nasty. I was able to get VLC and a unit of PB on his weak flank and started to burn objectives and winning on points but my defense was disappearing fast. I did Dark master on Teclis on turn 3 with the assumption of his double turn. I rolled a 2 in his hero phase, 😒. Teclis took out be'lakor, Game over. HIndsight, I waited too long for dark master but a double turn was coming on. Not having any real defense against his high casting rolls killed me. missed Kairos against this army, not a good match up. FEC tonight. I am switching the CP for purple sun. That thing is nasty.
  12. Here is the other list I was considering, nit-picking, but I like having more demon battlelines on the board. Especially with the two magic heavy armies I am facing. I also get an extra CP for DP or VLC where needed. How does the Bilepiper help with mobility? second choice list: Be'Lakor, the Dark Master (380) - General Verminlord Corruptor (280) - Artefact: Fourfold Blade Sloppity Bilepiper Herald of Nurgle (150) Slaves to Darkness Daemon Prince (210) - Sword UNITS 20 x Plaguebearers (220) 10 x Plaguebearers (110) 10 x Plaguebearers (110) 10 x Plaguebearers (110) 1 x Exalted Flamers of Tzeentch (100) 6 x Flamers of Tzeentch (280) ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS Extra Command Point (50) 2000/2000 My thought is that it will be tough to get the vortex off against a Teclis or Arch Recheant with +2 to casting. again, I will go nurgle against LRL and Khorne against FEC. Got to slow down those terrorgheists.
  13. Looking for a non Kairos list. Looking for comments: Allegiance: Legion of the First Prince LEADERS Be'Lakor, the Dark Master (380) -General Verminlord Corruptor (280) - Artefact: Fourfold Blade Sloppity Bilepiper Herald of Nurgle (150) Slaves to Darkness Daemon Prince (210) - Sword UNITS 10 x Plaguebearers (110) 10 x Plaguebearers (110) 10 x Plaguebearers (110) 10 x Plaguebearers (110) 1 x Exalted Flamers of Tzeentch (100) 6 x Flamers of Tzeentch (280) 3 x Screamers of Tzeentch (80) ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS Warp Lightning Vortex (80) TOTAL: 2000/2000 WOUNDS: 104 Got two games coming. One with Teclis led LRL where the DP will go Nurgle. The other is FEC feast day where DP will go Khorne.
  14. VLD has those. what he doesn't have is a chaos god allegiance, nurgle or khorne. So, from what I can tell, he can't summon any of the battleline demons. For example, VL Corruptor can summon plague bearers because he has the nurgle keyword.
  15. So I am reading about bringing VL Deceiver instead of Corruptor. the idea is that he can get in close then launch vortex on enemy. It's interesting. But my question is about the Deceivers chaos allegiance? I don't think he is nurgle nor does have a chaos mark. Am I missing something? And he can't summon since he doesn't have an allegiance on his warscroll? Thoughts?
  16. Few thoughts: 1. Are you going with LotFP? If so, take the Fourfold artifact on your corruptor. 2. I would break down your flamers to 6x and add an exalted Flamer for the buffs. 3. Bloodthrister for a LoC or Kairos. If you don't have those guys then you might want to think about a GUO with dagger and bell. He will give those Beasts an extra 2" if you need it. I have been trying to figure out if I can get GUO and Kairos in together, that Plague Wind spell is super good and can keep your VC alive a little longer. 4. I love BoN, but for the points I think you will get a bigger bang with plague drones. They can team up with VC if you go on the offensive and get the +1 attack or can be super buffed as an anti charge unit with VC and piper. It all depends on the models you have. I am not going to waive Be'Lakor yet. He is a tank and his ability combined with Kariros' oracle of eternity can make things interesting. I just need to get him on the table and see what he can do. Let me know if you change anything and then how it does on the table.
  17. Allegiance: Legion of Chaos Ascendant LEADERS Gaunt Summoner of Tzeentch (240) - General - Command Trait: Primordial Commander Verminlord Corruptor (280) - Artefact: Fourfold Blade Sloppity Bilepiper Herald of Nurgle (150) UNITS 20 x Plaguebearers (220) 10 x Plaguebearers (110) TOTAL: 1000 See where I am going here? Also, no spells any more.....
  18. Here is another approach on the 2k list. The drones can be anti-charge with the Bilepiper but could also follow VC and get the +1 to attacks as a hammer. Allegiance: Legion of Chaos Ascendant - Host of Chaos: Legion of the First Prince LEADERS Be'Lakor (380) - General - Spell: Echo of Hatred Kairos Fateweaver (400) - Spell: Echo of Hatred Verminlord Corruptor (280) - Artefact: Fourfold Blade - Spell: Spirit Gouge Sloppity Bilepiper Herald of Nurgle (150) UNITS 30 x Plaguebearers (300) 10 x Plaguebearers (110) 10 x Plaguebearers (110) 3 x Plague Drones (190) ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS Umbral Spellportal (70) I am still looking for any ideas for 1k. Take Be'Lakor or leave him out at 1k?
  19. Thanks Kasper, good points. Along those thoughts, Would adding a Gaunt Summoner to the list be valuable? I like his spell that is similiar to VC's.
  20. I would also like to know if you guys have a 1k list brewing with the new book and points for Be'lakor. Escalation league starts in May.
  21. Question: what strategy are you using for summoning? Are you bringing in more PB or Pinks?
  22. My Escalation league will start off with Meeting Engagement at 1,000 points. Battleplans from GHB 2020. I was thinking that getting out of the gate with a hard hitting spearhead is best approach. Here is my list: Allegiance: Nurgle SPEARHEAD Slaves to Darkness Daemon Prince (210) - Sword - Artefact: The Witherstave 3 x Plague Drones (190) MAIN BODY Harbinger of Decay (160) - General - Command Trait: Grandfather's Blessing 10 x Putrid Blightkings (280) REARGUARD 5 x Putrid Blightkings (140) Anyone have a successful ME list? Looking for comments.
