  1. Hey everyone! I finally finished this Star Priest and I'm pretty stoked about it. I think I did a real good job at making what i had in my head come to life on the model. I envisioned a Star Priest of Chotec with the scale patterns of a Sunset, and I think I captured that pretty well. There are a lot of wonderful sunsets behind my house, and they're often inspiration for color schemes. I really enjoy how the colors play together, you have two very bright points with the orange scales and blue feathers, which help bring out the cooler purples and greens. Tue gold came out real nice too I think, not too heavy I think - I did a small wash of Cassandora Yellow on it also. The staff's orb i was going for a "sun gem" or "sun orb" where a blast of light can come from, or was a thought at least. I'm really pumped about this model, and still have 2 more to do! 😊
  2. Slowly making some progress on some skinks! Finished one for my Bastiladon, which for those that handle/ride beasts im doing an Orange theme to show those blessed by the Old One of beasts, Itzl. For my blowpipe guys im going more a green scheme, a more foresty/jungle sneak theme? Making progress, pretty happy so far 😊
  3. Hey everyone! Hope everyone has had a great January so far, mine has been at times stressful but overall real amazing. We finally got some decent snow fall which has really energized my hobby. Something about painting with the small falling is just cozy and really draws me in. And with that I want to share my first finished model of 2023, my Engine of the Gods, The Engine of Tepok! Admittedly, most of this was done last year, however the skinks themselves had been neglected and never done, holding up the whole project. I had always planned on a Slann sitting on the howdah ever since I realized that a proper chair wouldn't fit with the Coatl icon on top. It also just feels right to have a Slann riding with such a powerful/rare artifact. The skinks I went with an orange scheme, as they are beast handlers/crew, so representing Itzl the Old One of beasts with their scheme felt appropriate. I painted the central back scales of one of the skinks a skull white as war paint, just because. Overall, I am really happy with this model, and have always loved it - I'm just happy to have it finished now! Or, nearly lol i technically have to secure the skinks to the howdah, but no glue atm, so yeah. Done enough for what I do, which is just paint and showcase, for now. I hope you enjoy, Lord Ka'Rapixca and the Engine of Tepok Any C&C is welcome.
  4. Lore: Aella, or “The Whirlwind” by some, is the sixth Wind Spirit of Hysh and is the Wind spirit of Storms. She takes the form of a giant Thunder Bird, the Spirit of Storms's favorite creature to travel her gales. Brought to form by not a helmet but two pieces of ancient wing armor that once were once worn by the Legendary Thunder Bird Galeari the Swift. Before the beginning of the Age of Chaos and the Spirefall Roosts of Thunder Birds were found throughout the four Great Nations of Iliatha, Helon, Oultrai, and Ymetrica. These gigantic intelligent birds generate lightning through their wings and are able to exhale it like a Star Dragon's flame, the flap of their wings sounds like that of thunder. Always heralded the coming of the strongest storms, the roosts riding upon the gales of the Wind Spirit of Storms, Aella the Sixth Wind Spirit of Hysh. As the realms became under threat from the armies of Chaos the fate of Hysh soon followed the same fate as those before. As the lands and skies became filled with Daemons and their followers the Roosts of the Thunder Birds came to the aid of the Lumineth and the Realm at large, though in vain. With the Lumineth not only being crushed by Chaos but by their own civil war, great losses beset the roosts as allies turned foe without warning, and daemon and corrupt Lumineth began hunting the giant birds down. The Spirit of Storms lent her fury and aid where she was able to manifest strongest, however not able to manifest it was not as effective as was needed. In the last retreat for one of the last roosts of Thunder Birds, the oldest and largest of their kind fell back to stay with the fury of daemons that chased her roost. Galeari the Swift with her powerful currents of lightning took out thousands of foes before finally a mighty Bloodthirster of Khorne struck her down. As the mighty bird's body fell from the sky winds began to pick up, and before Galeri hit the ground a current of wind and cloud landed her gently below. In the moment of seeing an old friend of the skies and storms fall, the Wind Spirit Aella found the focus she needed to manifest fully. Rage and sadness that she clung to the sky soon turned black, then green, then purple, and a loud whistle that turned almost a scream began to be heard - as if it were in one place and then another. Hail and lightning began to strike feverishly everywhere, thunder so loud it burst eardrums of those below, so large the stone of ice they cracked open skulls of mortals. Soon gales stronger than any recorded within the realm began to pick up, and from the sky, the make of a giant Thunder Bird created by storm clouds emerged. With the sound of a wind’s scream Chain Lightning burst down to the ground as the enraged wind spirit passed by. The lightning cracked it open as it struck, all that was left in its wake was of gore and gristle from those unfortunate to be hit. The Spirit of Storms unleashed a storm so powerful that the trees that survived are still bent nearly sideways, and the land is just now beginning to recover from the lightning bursts and fires that engulfed the area. The giant Thunder Birds body was carried off, including the giant wing armor that was crafted by Lumineth, after the massacre, never to be seen again. Lost to legends, the wing armor that Galeari wore was said to create a beautiful sound as she flew as the wind crossed over the armor, a sound that Aella was drawn to for its beautiful melody. The location of Galeari the Swift’s body was heavily guarded for centuries as the Age of Chaos raged on and the Thunder Birds fled to the highest Floating Islands amongst the Clouds in Hysh, though some left to Ghur and Ghyran. Only known by the remaining Roosts and Aella the Spirit of Storms, it wasn’t until the Wind Mage Aledrec Galeari that a Lumineth was entrusted with the location of the burial ground of the Ancient Thunder Bird and her famed armor. Given the Armor by the Roost which guarded the site, Aledrec was able to complete his supplication to Aella by earning the trust of the Thunder Bird Roost and therefore making a bridge back between the two races. ******* So! Finally, I have completed Aella, Wind Spirit of Storms! I have to say, this is probably the fastest I have ever done a model of this size and detail before. I believe in all it was about 18 hours over 6ish days, around 3 or 4 hours a session. I personally feel my best paint job to-date. I really wanted to "capture the storm" with this piece, referencing a lot of personal storm pictures I've taken, along with some online images. Where I live I have seen both Purple and green skies, like - deep purple and green - so I wanted to capture that but felt purple more fitting for what I was going for. The wings and face just feel really good to me, I am glad I went back to re-highlight certain feathers. The nright highlight blue next to the faded blue highlights really give that coursing lightning through the wings (and tail feathers!) I was hoping to convey. The lightning could be pushed more, but for now I love how it looks with the rest of the model - It just looks super natural to me how it comes off the wings and out of the mouth. The cyclone really helps "ground" the model some with its more neutral colors of greys and blue greys, but then has a pop of red-orange to draw from the blues in Aella. The rest of the base I just love the movement and colors that contrast with everything else. I just really love this model, though I wish the pictures did it justice - Ill have to try and grt better ones eventually. The bottom of the wings especially just didn't come out great C&C welcome!
  5. Hey everyone! It has been awhile since I have shared here but wanted to share an update with you all on my Lumineth Allies Project: The Hathorians I began this project shortly after the release of the Lumineth Realm Lords, specifically after the reveal of the Alarith Temple. I had really hoped for actual mountain Minotaurs to go along with our Stoneguard and Spirit of the Mountains, but alas it did not happen. So I kitbashed my first Hathorian and began writing a bunch of homebrew lore for them dating back before The Age of Myth. Fast forward to now I uave over 1k points kitbashed, 10+ pages of lore, and have even tested warscrolls out in narrative campaigns! It has been an adventure but so glad I went forward with it. The latest of the Hathorians to be created is my High Priestess/ Priestess model. This model is specifically meant to represent Heba, the first female of the Race and High Priestess to Haset herself, making her the High Priestess of all Priestess of the race. Haset, for those that don't know, is a Primordial Goddess of Hysh whom created the Hathorians, a minor Goddess but ancient in age and wisdom. This model also doubles as a Hyshian Beasts of Chaos Shaman, which is one reason for the Lumineth Warden torso. The other reason is a nod to the bloody history between Syar and the Hathorians during the Spirefall. I also like to think she is about to cauteriz whoever just dismembered that Warden with her staff! Hope you enjoy!
  6. And from the Kelp Forests they came, swift and furious... Growing my Deepkin Soul-Raid party with existing kits I already have on hand, using the Leviadon kit and the Slaanesh Blissbarb Seeker mounts here specifically. Inbetween studying I have begun the process of making Sea Horses, including attempt to make molds of what will be dorsal fins. The first mold came out a little thick as you can see in the picture, i think a little less GS and we'll be onto something. I love building, perhaps.. too much lol Other updates coming in a few days after my exam
  7. So, I had a builders itch that I really needed to sate, so here we are lol. Ive always have loved the Deepkin but never felt like I could do them justice. I am still not sure if I can, but I do have a bit more confidence in myself to do so! I have had this Leviadon kit for awhile just sitting and waiting, but wanted to create something unique that could inhabit the oceans of the Mortal Realms. Definitely some sort of arthropod or middle ground species between Arthropods and Reptilians. No idea when I'll begin actually building it with greenstuff & milliput but it has been fun so far to just imagine what else could be lurking in the oceans of the Mortal Realms. -This is a Karapiti (name may change) and they are a deep ocean floor dweller that most often stays on the deptha during the day feeding on that which falls to the ocean floor. During the night they travel to shallow waters to the large Kelp Forests to feed on the kelp and other creatures alike. Blind, the Karapiti uses its antenna & an ehanced sense of smell to travel both in the water and on land. The antennae detect even the most minute changes in water & air pressure and friction, while the sense of smell is powerful enough to smell both blood and sweat from a few miles away. -
  8. Wow, it has been a long time since I updated this Blog and as I'm going through it I definitely need to share some updates. Sorry everyone! Lofe has been crazy and well, we all know how the last 2 years specifically have been. But, let's get back into it shall we? Recently I have been working on my Seraphon again with some custom kitbashes, the newst being my "Itzlopteryx" which are my Terradon/Ripperdactyl Hybrid conversion (pictured below) In general I am very happy with how the conversion turned out, but now that I'm painting it I am a bit stumped I am a bit stumped on the body itself. I used three different colors (Khorne Red, Gal Vorbak Red and Screamer Pink) but now can't decide how to highlight. I had begun highlights with Khorne red (on top) and Meph. Red on the rib cage and other underbelly sections... but feel it may not be enough, or maybe Khorne Red highlights just arent the way? Any Suggestions on how to improve the skin would be helpful Thanks in advance!
  9. Working on my second High Warden with a different scheme, to then combine both schemes into one unit. Will be fun! Theme(s): Rebirth/Rejuvenation & Destruction/Revenge Wip
  10. I am very much in a building mood lately, especially as the days are getting colder and time to prime is getting smaller Been working on some Hathorians snd trying to finish up some fur work, and also finishing up this one's weapon specifically. His weapon and how to finish it has been evading me for awhile, so I decided finally to add a new blade to it to top jt off. Maybe a bit over the too, but I dig it 😊 And this is just a photo of the Hathorians together, all at different stages; some being finished. And another fun picture
  11. Slight update on his weapon. So this is what I have so far, blade isnt done but I wanted to get the flames to a better spot. I don't have a name for the alloy yet, but the idea is that the metal is cold; as in freeze a person in place instantly cold, and then think of something even colder. With the blade being so cold it even freezes, or slow downs magic from a magic user to the point that the blade begins to absorb the magic (unsure how yet), or if coming at Ti'lanka he can cut through a spell and breaking it in its track and absorbing its energy. The blade begins to flame as it fills up on magic and has to expunge some, this creates a Magic Burn. When a Magic Burn begins the blade is so enfused with magic that the blade can unleash a powerful outward burst, harming enemies around but also rendering lesser magic users worthless for a time (think EMP, but for magic). While some magic burns away, some seeps into Ti'lanka, giving him magical abilities; even if unreliable in strength at times, but still a weapon in his arsenal for a short time. This weapon caused Haset much trouble and frustration during their ancient fued. this is my headcanon
  12. Update on this big guy! Finally after procrastinating for months I got the greenstuff fur work done for Ti'lanka, my Mammoth Giant for my homebrew. Was able to prime and being painting as well, and so far I absolutely love how the greenstuff has turned out with paint on it. A look at him when the greenstuff was done vs a current look! More to come as I continue my Hathorian Homebrew Project 20211106_124002_2.mp4
  13. Big update on this latest project, base work and the beginning of layering on the head! Lots to go still but I love how she is coming together. I am hoping to have a Beastiary log and such for the Amargadon at some point soon Hope everyone is doing well! 20210920_201406_1_1.mp4
